Food is the major source for the existence of the mankind. In order to meet the food requirements for the ever increasing population, the quantity of the food production has to be increased maintaining the quality standards. Agriculture is one such major sector which provides the food for mankind. It not only provides food but also supplies raw materials for industries. Implementation of advanced technologies such as Internet of Things in agriculture helps in improving the production with limited resources. The key parameter for the sustainable agriculture is moisture content available for the crop from the soil. This can be supplied efficiently by controlling the irrigation process. In this system an intelligent agriculture monitoring system with multiple wireless monitoring sensor nodes are used at different locations to monitor the parameters such as temperature, moisture content in the soil, humidity and rainfall. The data from the various sensors is aggregated at each node and transmitted to the coordinator station using long range transceiver. The data received at the coordinator station is subjected to a rule based decision making process to efficiently control the irrigation process. Also motor protection against the dry run was implemented, which not only protects the motor from break down but also avoids the unwanted power consumption. All the live data is in turn uploaded to the cloud so that the user can have a track of the current status of his farm at any time.

Effective monitoring of photovoltaic system can make the operation condition of the system easy to know, and can also provide powerful data support for the further research. General monitoring method is to confirm the state of photovoltaic system by monitor the inverter unit’s some parameters relevant. This paper focuses on the monitoring of PV module, in order to get more accurate data, and then improve the efficiency of the PV system. Achieve the purpose of monitoring by the wireless sensor network constructed by sensor nodes that is designed proper for the acquisition of solar modules’ parameters data relevant, the monitoring application software also has been completed. The results indicate that the monitoring system who achieves the design requirements and expectations well, also with the characteristics of cost saving and convenient to set up has promising prospects.

This paper introduces a design about a temperature monitoring system for traditional fermentation process. C Language , C #Socket Communication mechanism combined with wireless sensor network technology and WiFi wireless communication technology, are used for monitoring the temperature changes throughout the fermentation process. The sensor nodes collecte temperature during the fermentation process. First, the aggregated data is collected to a concentrator, then transmitted to the application server via WiFi wireless network. User can use a computer or cell phone to access the Web server for acquisition of the related fermentation temperature data via the Internet. These data can provide the support for further study on how to improve the fermentation yield, shorten the fermentation cycle and reduce the consumption of raw materials.

The author of the article discloses the prospects of development of the world feed production for aquaculture based on the analysis of key innovative technological and market trends. The author specifies that shortage, high cost, low ecological compatibility of traditional raw materials - fish flour - are among major limiting factors in the development of production of feeds for aquaculture. This fact, in turn, limits sustainable development of aquaculture both in Russia, and in the world in general. The article presents the overview of a current status of the world industry of feed production in aquaculture, where the regional situation is studied, as well. For the first time, there is given the outlook of innovative technologies in feed production based on the alternative sources of protein (on the example of projects of leading aquabiotechnological companies) which will determine industry’s objectives for the mid-term perspective.

To improve the efficiency of the remote monitoring system for logistics transportation, we proposed a remote monitoring system based on wireless sensor network and GPRS communication. The system can collect information from the wireless sensor network and transmit the information to the ZigBee interpreter. The monitoring system mainly includes the following parts: Car terminal, GPRS transmission network and monitoring center. Car terminal mainly consists by the Zigbee microcontroller and peripherals, wireless sensor nodes, RFID reader, GPRS wireless communication module composed of a micro-wireless monitoring network. The information collected by the sensor communicates through the GPRS and the monitoring center on the network coordinator, sends the collected information to the monitoring center, and the monitoring center realizes the information of the logistics vehicle in real time. The system has high applicability, meets the design requirements in the real-time acquisition and information transmission of the information of the logistics transport vehicles and goods, and realizes the function of remote monitoring.

The generation of secondary processing mill residues from wood processing facilities is extensive in the United States. Wood flour can be manufactured utilizing these residues and an important application of wood flour is as a filler in the wood–plastic composites (WPCs). Scientific research on wood flour production from mill residues is limited. One of the greatest costs involved in the supply chain of WPCs manufacturing is the transportation cost. Wood flour, constrained by low bulk densities, is commonly transported by truck trailers without attaining allowable weight limits. Because of this, shipping costs often exceed the material costs, consequently increasing raw material costs for WPC manufacturers and the price of finished products. A bulk density study of wood flour (190–220 kg/m3) and wood pellets (700–750 kg/m3) shows that a tractor-trailer can carry more than three times the weight of pellets compared to flour. Thus, this study focuses on exploring the utilization of mill residues from four wood species in Maine to produce raw materials for manufacturing WPCs. Two types of raw materials for the manufacture of WPCs, i.e., wood flour and wood pellets, were produced and a study of their properties was performed. At the species level, red maple 40-mesh wood flour had the highest bulk density and lowest moisture content. Spruce-fir wood flour particles were the finest (dgw of 0.18 mm). For all species, the 18–40 wood flour mesh size possessed the highest aspect ratio. Similarly, on average, wood pellets manufactured from 40-mesh particles had a lower moisture content, higher bulk density, and better durability than the pellets from unsieved wood flour. Red maple pellets had the lowest moisture content (0.12%) and the highest bulk density (738 kg/m3). The results concluded that the processing of residues into wood flour and then into pellets reduced the moisture content by 76.8% and increased the bulk density by 747%. These material property parameters are an important attempt to provide information that can facilitate the more cost-efficient transport of wood residue feedstocks over longer distances.

This paper proposed a low cost wireless monitoring system based on ZigBee wireless transmission, and designed a new floating voltage sensor which is suitable for the monitoring of medium voltage and high voltage(MV/HV) public equipment. The system used TI-CC2530 as the controller, proposed a new moving average voltage sensing(MAVS) algorithm by reasonable assumptions, and adopted algorithms to perform the theoretical analysis for the single phase and three-phase voltage. At last, the author carried out a practical experiment on the wireless floating voltage sensor under the voltage up to 30kV, the experimental results showed that the proposed low cost wireless sensor can achieve a good voltage monitoring function, and the error is less than 3%.
