The topic of Nuclear Safety Culture touches several different aspects with contributions from the main organizations involved in nuclear projects and belonging to vendors, utility and regulators. Two nuclear safety directives issued by the European Commission emphasize the fundamental principle of national responsibility for nuclear safety and are implemented in each member country’s legislation. An example of fission implementation is highlighted, referring to the Czech Republic legislation; an example of application in fusion technology is the implementation of the Nuclear Safety Culture in the ITER project, located in Cadarache, in the south of France. The aim of the paper is to highlight the importance of this field, pointing out the cross reference between fission and fusion technology as applied in two countries, with concrete experiences and future prospects for nuclear technologies.

Improvement of the environment is conditioned by a systematic environmental education. The role of geography in such an educational system is also crucial. As a result, geographical courses require changes. A sound knowledge of one's local region much contributes to the understanding of environment in the broad sense. Environmental education must include the historical development of natural and social elements as well as future prospects. The concept of eco-museum could bring much inspiration to this process. The article deals with the idea of eco-museum of Cental European importance which should primarily influence the environmental thinking of the population.

The paper is concentrated on the explanation of the situation in the Czech Republic, what changed fundamentally after 1990: while before that the archives were situated mostly in the unsuitables old buildings, thereafter, in the period of 10-15 years, many of them were newly adapted (and alternatively supplemented by new depositories) and above all many absolutely new archive purpose-built buildings were constructed. Above all the state archives have got so much better conditions for their activities. Probably nothing like that was be achieved in such short period in the other country. Nowadays, after almost twenty years, the new archive buildings often have to respond to new requirements, or to deal with the question of the upkeep.

The paper deals with the necessity to establish a unified organizational structure of tourism in the Czech Republic. It analyses the present situation and by using the result of the case study “The analysis of tourism organization in the tourism region of Moravian Karst and its surroundings” it shows the low level of cooperation among individual subjects that are active in tourism, and also the absence of a covering organization of tourism (Destination management company-DMC) that would coordinate developing, promotional and conceptual activities of an area and would also cooperate with a regional organization of tourism. On the basis of the information mentioned above a model of organization tourism in the Czech Republic. Defining competencies and activities is a part of the model – for the national agency of CzechTourism as well as for DMC at individual levels of management, with the target to avoid duplicate activities and make the development of tourism in destinations more efficient. A paramount task for CzechTourism is to establish a stable organizational structure.

Abstract The Czech Republic, as many other countries of Central and Eastern Europe, faced and is still facing a pension-reform challenge. The diversification of pension pillars led to the massive displacements of participant contributions from the public PAYG pension pillars to the newly constructed private, defined-contribution, fully-funded pillars. In the Czech Republic, the adoption of the relevant law was preceded by serious political conflict between supporters and opponents of this step (both among different political actors and among professionals). In an analysis of the conflict we critically apply the Advocacy Coalition Framework. We work mainly with the analysis of policy documents, public statements of the individual actors and an analysis of voting on the relevant law in both chambers of the Czech Parliament towards the identification of the crystallization process of two clear-cut coalitions between actors from both sides of the spectrum. The Advocacy Coalition Framework in exploring the dynamics of the public-policy process proved to be able to explain situations where there is sharp political conflict. Through the lens of the devil-shift of both camps (advocacy coalitions with different beliefs), each fell into extreme positions within the coalition to affirm the correctness of their arguments and positions.
