Progress of science and technology is very influential to development of software engineering. Communication between software developers and prospective users of software engineering by prototype system is very important in the development of software engineering. Research and Development method in research of software engineering is very suitable be used because supports the existence of such communications. But it is found there are several research that use this method with not perfect or not completed, so research results produced less fit with purpose. This paper will be explain how to used the stages must be carried out in research of software engineering with the method of research and development, in order to make the research more be effectively and efficiently as well as software development efforts that simultaneously accompanied by the validation effort for the results to be achieved in accordance with the expected goals.

A great importance of engineering education over the last decade has been on the development of some very specific non-technical attributes which included communication skills, the ability to function in teams, knowledge of societal and contemporary issues, development of global perspective, and ethics awareness. These non-technical skills complement a strong technical foundation to produce well-rounded engineering graduates who are flexible and adaptable to suit the constantly developing and changing requirements of the workplace. The industry as well as the international and local accreditation bodies have repeatedly highlighted the importance of strong communication skills for engineers entering the workplace [1] – [7]. Industries require a greater number of communication and interpersonal skills for entry-level engineers [8], yet, graduate engineers still lack the required standard of communication skills [9]. Engineering communication competency, especially in the English language is essential for an engineer who aspires to carry out his/her professional practice in the global economy. Similarly, the challenges faced by graduates are to focus on the development of the professional skills in the undergraduate engineering program in order to meet the demands from industries. As such the Malaysian higher education system must produce graduates who can communicate effectively in English. Otherwise, it would lose one of its vital selling points for foreign investors to ensure that the skilled labor forces are sufficient to support internationally competitive commerce and industry and to provide individuals with opportunities to optimize their potentials [10], [11]

In order to be able to innovate sustainable solutions to critical engineering problems, a modern engineer needs to be adequately equipped with sufficient creativeness and a research attitude. The focus of existing undergraduate engineering curricula is however, often limited to the development of sound knowledge of the engineering fundamentals, forgoing the need for nurturing creativity and research skills in the students. The current paper presents a model for systematic facilitation of undergraduate research, while remaining within the constraints of a prescribed curriculum. The model endeavors to strike a balance between the concerns of engineering education and engineering research. The students are encouraged to get in touch with the current innovations in the frontier areas of their respective engineering fields and are promoted to develop their undergraduate projects in constant interaction and under continuous mentoring of a faculty research group. They are thus equipped to contribute creatively to the area of their study right from the beginning of their engineering career, which would instill in them enough confidence to engage with contemporary engineering challenges.
