Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic for Applications. This paper presents automatic solution for evaluating accuracy of positioning for specialized networks’ points in a plane coordinate system. The paper presents results of automation of this process through analysis of multiple configurations of trilateral networks using Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic for Applications.

In small and medium enterprises, huge numbers of reports are prepared regarding the procurement, planning, production etc on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. If the interval between preparation of same report is longer then there is the greater probability that employee can forget the procedure of preparing the report; thus it is beneficial to automate these types of reports especially when there is no cost required for automation. In the same way, material delivery analysis is a kind of report which is prepared on monthly basis and as per the employees` feedback they usually forget some of the steps of report formation; therefore, there was the chance of mistake at the end of employee. Therefore, this report was automated for to minimize the chance of error and report preparation time. All the manual tasks were enlisted and were programmed for automation by the help of VBA macros. For the execution of macros, userform was designed in visual basic editor (in MS excel) consisted on four command buttons and macros were called on command buttons` click. On pressing ‘ctrl + q’ userform used to appear on the screen. Furthermore, the comparison of old and automated methods was conducted to reflect the best suitable method. The report used to take 1.55 minutes to be made manually. Comparison of time of both methods of report formation indicated that suggested method took 70.86% less time as compared to the old method of preparing material delivery time analysis report.

A Visual Basic for Applications program was developed for direct control of a Twister II robot using the Zymark ZyRobot_ICP. Direct control enables automated check-out of the robot, and automated measurement of the plate stacks prior to a robot run. Normal operation of the robot program is performed with just two buttons.

Advances in medical care has reduced the rate of mortality from strokes, but the incidence of stroke has remained stable while the incidence of ministrokes has increased. Most stroke victims require long-term care, imposing a heavy financial and emotional burden on families while incurring a heavy cost to society. Thus, strokes are a key issue in the context of health care in Taiwan. This paper proposes using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) to build a system for assessing Brunnstrom stages based on the observation of several obvious rehabilitation features The system calculates features for accelerometer readings, which are then used as input parameters for a fuzzy algorithm to obtain the Brunnstrom action level. Experimental results show the proposed approach effectively assesses Brunnstrom level, and that the approach can be used to assist physical therapists in performing longitudinal assessments of stroke victim progress, thus improving evaluation efficiency.

In this study, a tool has been designed and developed for learning about the concept of lag order within a dynamic model, which can be used in any teaching classes on statistics and financial data computation. To show a solution for a complex and multi-step process of finding the optimal lag order for multiple variables data series based on an information criterion a module using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for Microsoft Excel (MS Excel) is being developed. This module can be used for estimating a multivariate dynamic model as well as determining the optimal lag order of such a model.

This paper presents arguments for the use of direct steam generation (DSG) in preference to other forms of generation in particular locations according to the prevailing environmental and economic conditions. In addition, the paper describes the development of a software tool based on Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), which draws upon established physical relationships in the heat transfer literature to perform plant capacity calculations in a fast and convenient manner. The results of the VBA program determine the solar fraction of the plant, assuming that the plant is in operation for 10 h per day (07:30–17:30 hours), the solar fraction is shown to be 76% and the DSG plant achieves a 76% reduction in emissions. Construction costs are also estimated based on formulae from previous work.
