Due to its geographical situation, the port of Ploče has become a junction of land and sea routes within the Transport Corridor Vc, as a part of the Mediterranean Transport Corridor, passing through Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Hungary. The paper deals with the analysis of the connecting roads leading from the port of Ploče as well as with the evaluation of the respective road traffic volume. Although the congestion on certain road sections is related to the tourist transit traffic, the road traffic volume at the Transport Corridor Vc within Bosnia and Herzegovina indicates the need for the construction of a motorway to stretch out the Corridor. The planned modernisation will fundamentally improve the main road infrastructure on the Transport Corridor Vc that will facilitate the transport of goods and enable shorter travel time from the port of Ploče to the hinterland. Considering that the major portion of the freight transport from the port of Ploče uses road transport services, the envisaged modernisation will significantly increase competitiveness of the port, mostly due to the intermodal transport mode.

Continuous, automatic measurements of road traffic volume allow the obtaining of information on daily, weekly or seasonal fluctuations in road traffic volume. They are the basis for calculating the annual average daily traffic volume, obtaining information about the relevant traffic volume, or calculating indicators for converting traffic volume from short-term measurements to average daily traffic volume. The covid-19 pandemic has contributed to extensive social and economic anomalies worldwide. In addition to the health consequences, the impact on travel behavior on the transport network was also sudden, extensive, and unpredictable. Changes in the transport behavior resulted in different values of traffic volume on the road and street network than before. The article presents road traffic volume analysis in the city before and during the restrictions related to covid-19. Selected traffic characteristics were compared for 2019 and 2020. This analysis made it possible to characterize the daily, weekly and annual variability of traffic volume in 2019 and 2020. Moreover, the article attempts to estimate daily traffic patterns at particular stages of the pandemic. These types of patterns were also constructed for the weeks in 2019 corresponding to these stages of the pandemic. Daily traffic volume distributions in 2020 were compared with the corresponding ones in 2019. The obtained results may be useful in terms of planning operational and strategic activities in the field of traffic management in the city and management in subsequent stages of a pandemic or subsequent pandemics.

Progress of a country in line with the progress of traffic (transport). Fluency in traffic is determined by the smoothness of traffic on the road. Problems often arise on the highway is congestion at the intersection. Neither was signalized intersections and signalized intersections. Problems at the intersection is less accuracy green flame at the intersection with the number of vehicles in a segment. This study focuses on a wide range of issues related to the effects of integration process on the development of economic relations, in particular, in the road transport services market. Special emphasis is put on the critical role of integration in contributing to building circular technological supply chains, ensuring sales coordination and management, reducing unit costs and increasing labor productivity. It is argued that the outcome of integration translates into a cohesive economic mechanism which in addition to its integrated elements is characterized by the presence of a core coordination element. The article offers a definition to a public-private partnership phenomenon, identifies its advantages and disadvantages, explores the mechanisms of public-private partnership implementation as well as suggests a toolkit to optimize the partnership functioning for integrated structures. This is a pioneering study that provides a rationale for the need to use several public-private partnership patterns simultaneously together with developing a mechanism for carrying out public-private partnership which is proposed to be consolidated into the mechanism of integrated partnership viewed as the most preferable one to be implemented in the market of road transport services. It has been verified that the integrated partnership pattern provides an opportunity to develop competitive advantages of all its participants. The research findings have enabled to make the following generalizations: the existing partnerships differ in types of arrangements and institutional support; prior to making a decision to launch a specific integrated partnership project, the mechanism of its implementation should be envisaged; to enhance the efficiency of the integrated partnership project implementation, building relevant infrastructure facilities is paramount; the prospects for further integrated partnership project operation assume the utilization of a network mechanism of public-private partnership which best meets the needs and the specifics of the road transport services market.

There are many cities on the west coast of the Sumatra, which are at high risk of the Tsunami disaster. Regional Regulations on Regional Spatial Planning for each City/ Regency have compiled disaster mitigation by constructing several evacuation roads. This study wants to illustrate: what are the volume of traffic generation and road performance, if there is a Tsunami disaster. The simulation is developed by predicting traffic volume based on parameters, population density, vehicle ownership, land use, and activities in the area around the road. The assessment was carried out on two tsunami evacuation roads in the city of Padang, West Sumatra Province. The results show that the highest traffic volume occurred in the period from 06.30 a.m until 3:00 p.m., during school activities. One of the roads will not be able to accommodate the volume of traffic during a disaster, due to significant traffic congestion. This study shows that: (1) the period of activity and land use are two main parameters, which must be considered in designing tsunami evacuation roads, (2) The degree of saturation ratio and the ratio between the capacity of sections of Tsunami evacuation routes can be proposed as a parameter for assessing the performance of Tsunami evacuation roads in urban areas.

The demands for transport are presently at quite high level. There are few transport branches which are used now, but in fact the road transport is the one used most. Transport actions are ought to deliver goods from point A to point B, and thus they influence the goals of logistics referred as 5R. Providing the right resource, in right place, on the right time, in right cost and in right quality, depend mostly on transport services. Using of the autonomous technology in transport allow to achieve better results in the field of logistics services. The purpose of this article was to present the benefits of autonomous transport and its influence on the logistics. Theoretical considerations were summarized with conclusions, which may become during the deliberation about the usage of autonomous transport vehicles.

Traffic volume in Semarang City has increased every year due to the increasing number of vehicles. Congestion that occurs at the T-junction intersection Jl. Brigjen Sudiarto - Jl. Majapahit is one of the impacts of high traffic growth and the traffic system is not functioning properly. By considering the geometric conditions of the road, traffic volume, side obstacles and the intersection environment which is a commercial area, it is necessary to analyze the cause of the congestion at the intersection. The research conducted was to conduct a field survey to obtain primary and secondary data which are then processed using intersection management. Planning uses the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) and uses the Excel 2013 program to process traffic data. Traffic data is obtained from recording the number of vehicles in the field for 3 days (April 29, 01 and May 4, 2019) during peak hours and presented in the form of a vehicle data table, then the behavior of the intersection can be analyzed. From the analysis results obtained value of the degree of saturation (DS) at the intersection of Jl. Brigjen Sudiarto - Jl. Majapahit 0.991. This value has exceeded the required value by the 1997 MKJI, DS ≤ 0.85. The analysis shows that the average traffic delay is 141,320 sec / pcu, so this intersection has a Service Level (LOS) F (> 60).

Road transport plays an important role in India’s economy. It enables the country’s transportation sector to contribute 6.1% towards India’s GDP. The road network in our country is considered as a critical factor to the country’s development, social integration and security needs of the country. The Government of India has promoted foreign investments in highway projects to bring out high standards and quality. India’s road network carries over 65% of freight and 85% passenger traffic. The traffic volume carried by the national highways almost exceeds the designed traffic volume, and hence the desired speed cannot be achieved. Thus, widening of highways becomes necessary. The population growth is also to be considered and hence provision for future widening is to be provided. Our paper deal with the geometric design for widening of NH-9 is carried out using MX-Bentley software as per IRC specifications. This design includes horizontal and vertical profiling throughout the stretch of the road, according to the existing topographic data. The radius of the curve has been increased to make a smooth curve. Also, the vertical profile has been designed based on the allowable gradient and sight distances. From this, accommodation of more traffic volume and increment of design speed seems to be possible.

This study examined drivers’ perception of road traffic delay attributes and factors influencing road traffic delay with a view to assessing loss of man hours along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. This view translated to policy statements that can tremendously reduce the road traffic delay in the study area. Primary data were collected through questionnaire administration, traffic volume survey and direct field observation while the secondary data were obtained from past relevant journals, textbooks among others. The sample frame evolved from an average of 3 day traffic volume survey, which translated into 17,647 drivers between 7 am – 7 pm in the study area. The sample size was 117 (0.007%) as the purposive sampling technique was adopted. The frequency tables and likert scale outputs were adopted for data analyses.  The study found that most drivers along this road were majorly (75.2%) young educated working adults while the trips made accounted for the concentration of work and after-work trips along this road. The study revealed that traffic delay along the road was largely due to indiscreet use of bus-stops, bad roads condition, drivers’ recklessness with DAI values of 4.70, 3.77 and 3.41 respectively using a 5 Point Likert Scale. This study established that a total of 2,920 ‘man-hours’ was lost annually on this road as the daily accumulated estimate for man hour loss was estimated as 8 hours per day. The strict enforcement and monitoring of proper usage of bus-stops and prompt rehabilitation of bad roads are needed among other recommendations.Key Words: Road Traffic Delay, Drivers’ Perspectives, Man-Hour Loss

In today's world of globalization and a quicker way of life, tourism in the modern world is one of the main export industries of each country and the Republic of Macedonia. Worldwide revenues in 2017 of about 7.6 billion (10.2% of global GDP) and 292 million jobs in 2016, equivalent to 1 in 10 jobs in the global economy. Worldwide tourism revenues have led many countries to seriously think about development of this industry branch which is highly profitable. One of the main factors for the progress of tourism is road transport, its security as well as the accompanying infrastructure. The security of the road infrastructure, ie the road network, pedestrian infrastructure, traffic and tourist signalization are the basic elements that are noted by both transit tourists and tourists who have decided on one of the Macedonian tourist destinations which have provided a significant comparative advantage over others. On the other hand, the numerous circumstances with it creates increased risks for all road users and for tourists, reducing the competitive advantage of attractive tourist destinations. The tourism progress affects many economic development springs, so that travel agencies and governments of countries that see in their service activity an opportunity to economic development and endeavor to make road traffic more secure for all and for tourists. With this work we see the synergies between road safety and tourism with reference to the Republic of Macedonia.

Transportation is a live wire for national development regardless of a nation industrial capacity, population or technological development. It gives expressions to policy initiative in areas like health, education, employment, etc., and in the absence of it, these facilities would be inaccessible. Viable operating strategies for public transport between Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State Nigeria Campus and Camp Terminus in Abeokuta were evolved. Traffic study was conducted for seven (7) days to determine traffic volume and peak periods (morning and evening) along the route. Questionnaires were administered to the road users to obtain factors (availability of vehicles, travel time from Camp Terminus to FUNAAB, road condition, operational cost, comfortability of the vehicle) needed to generate operating strategies. These factors were subjected to statistical analysis. The traffic volume revealed that Private cab had the highest traffic flow for a.m. peak period (8: 00 – 9: 00 am) from Mondays to Thursdays while Public cab had the highest on Fridays to Sundays, and at the pm peak period (4:00 – 5:00 pm), Public cabs had the highest traffic volume on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays while the Private cabs had the highest on the rest days of the week. The analysis of the sampled population showed that public cab had the least total time travel (36.1 minutes) followed by mini- bus (37.8 minutes) while the school bus had the highest (43.7 minutes) and this justified the reason why 40% of the population choose to travel by public cab, 33% by mini– bus  and 27% by the school bus. However, for the viability of the operating strategies, more public cab and min-buses should be provided to ply the road because of their lesser travel time, also provision of more school buses because of the large number of passengers they carry per trip should be provided.
