The following paper discusses the features of leadership in a student group. The author presents interpretations of leadership phenomenon that exist in domestic and foreign literature and analyzes the phenomenon of leadership differentiation role in a group. A phenomenon of leadership identification, as a mechanism of the leader influence on followers, is studied by the experimental method. As a result the author comes to the conclusion that the identification of the group takes place mainly with an instrumental or emotional leader, as a great number of identity attributes are ascribed to him/her. A self-perceptual questionnaire helps to study a social-perceptual mechanism of identification process deployment in leadership. The experimental results show that the formation of leadership qualities in students is necessary to consider the features of role differentiation in a group: the instrumental leader organizes a student group for the solution of educational and professional problems; the emotional leader takes care of favorable psychological climate maintenance in a group, strengthens the group cohesion.

The article presents the main results of an empirical study of the factors of personal acquisition of social status in a small group in the field of leisure. Reflecting the position of the individual in the system of society, the social status of the individual is determined by the set of rights and responsibilities of the individual in the context of social ties, groups and systems. Thus, social status is a component that simultaneously affects the individual, and which, in some way, depends on the individual. Since social status is a complex and multicomponent phenomenon, it was possible to determine its socio-psychological component structure. Social status was studied through sociometric positions of respondents. The entire sample was divided into 4 groups depending on the number of elections: neglected, rejected, accepted, stars. It was found that the factors of social status in the permissive context are the acceptance of others, the psychological climate of the team, focus on the present, social approval, lack of normative behavior (conformity). Factors of social status in the working context are personal characteristics and features of group dynamics, so it should be taken into account in combination with individual psychological characteristics. Factors of each social status for separate social groups were also singled out. The social status of the individual is an important component of the social life of every person. Its main function is to organize, design, regulate and conduct groups and their members. In the leisure environment for a group of technical professional orientation, the factors of acquiring social status for certain groups are the following characteristics: neglected – group cohesion, unaccepted – socio-psychological adaptation, accepted – the tendency to affiliation, stars – acceptance of others; for the group of humanitarian professional orientation: neglected – acceptance of others, unaccepted – group cohesion, accepted – the psychological climate of the group, the stars – emotional comfort.

This study explores how BSW students code qualitative data and describes an approach to teaching introductory qualitative data analysis to this student group. A first-level coding task of text data was conducted by 111 students. Their resulting codes were then examined for individual coding styles. This study found that different coding styles do exist and can be assessed. Also, students with research experience rated the coding task less difficult than those without research experience. The study's findings have implications for teaching qualitative data analysis to BSW students and for using undergraduate assistance in analyzing qualitative data.

The threefold purpose of this study was: (1) to determine whether hand-temperature biofeedback could be used in groups, (2) to investigate the role of the biofeedback therapist in a group setting, and (3) to determine to what extent, if any, group cohesion developed as a result of biofeedback and verbal reinforcement. Three groups of volunteer subjects were tested. Group A served as a control, Group B received feedback only, and Group C received feedback plus verbal reinforcement. Five people in each group met once weekly for six consecutive weeks. Hand temperature, seating arrangements, frequency of group leaders-to-member reinforcement, and frequency of member-to-member reinforcement were recorded throughout. Analysis indicated biofeedback of hand temperature can be done in groups. Verbal reinforcement from a live therapist (group leader) facilitated biofeedback training, and group cohesion developed readily under conditions of feedback and/or verbal reinforcement. The results were discussed in terms of their relevance to current clinical practice and research.

This Student Parent Assistance Pilot Program engaged family members to support their students in adapting to the academic challenges of entering college. Materials were constructed so that family members did not have to be knowledgeable in the course content in order to assist their students. Outcomes indicated that participating students and their family members had a more positive view of the program than did a non-participating comparison student group. A student vignette is used to illustrate the students’ positive view of the program.

The article is devoted to the problem of development of empathic abilities of officers of the Armed Forces. An officer of the modern Armed Forces must be a holistic personality, capable of constant self-development and selfimprovement, with a certain set of moral qualities; his personality should be leadership-oriented, which includes the skills to lead subordinates, take responsibility for them and have a sufficient level of empathic abilities, manifested in empathy, interest in improving the moral and psychological condition of subordinate personnel and each subordinate individually. The concepts of personality, leadership and empathy as a communicative and organizational component of leadership qualities are covered. The level of empathy ability among the officers of a unit of a separate military unit is analyzed and recommendations for its increase are given. Regarding the problem of developing empathic abilities among officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we can say that this topic is unfairly underestimated. This is due to the specifics of military-professional activities, which are clearly regulated by the statutory relationship. "Living by statute" implies the mandatory fulfillment of all its requirements, and does not provide any recommendations for the establishment of interpersonal relations in the military. However, as the experience of recent years has shown, the Armed Forces of Ukraine needed an immediate increase in mobilization resources, which led to conscription of Ukrainian troops, with different motivational factors, different levels of life experience, different age groups. Empathy is one of the important communicative and organizational components of leadership. The chief officer must have an average level of empathic abilities, which allows you to create the most comfortable psychological climate in the subordinate department, without violating military discipline. Analyzing the level of empathy on the example of one of the military units, we saw that not all officers have formed it enough, so it was suggested training exercises to improve it. We also stressed the importance of awareness of the participants about empathy, as well as its development in terms of its various components.

To compare the proposed techniques with the experimental approach, the robot deformation under load is simulated and the tool displacement is estimated. It is shown that both approaches are equivalent in terms of accuracy. While the experimental method is easier to implement, the algebraic approach allows analyzing the contribution of each link in a reduced model of elasticity. Besides, the obtained estimate of the parameters does not depend on the accuracy of measurements and configurations used in the identification process.
