Studies devoted to artificial reclamation and natural renaturalization of the open cuts are important because of the distribution of the nonmetallic open-cut mining in the Middle Volga. The following article contains the results of floristic and geobotanical study of the Ust-Sokskiy quarry, where the secondary plantation has been forming for the last 40 years after calciferous stock mining and quarrying. At present overgrowing Ust-Sokskiy quarry is used as a natural testing field for exploration of the secondary anthropogenic successions, ecological, anatomical, morphological, physiological, biochemical and biogeochemical peculiarities of plants. 107 species of the vascular plants belonging to 83 genera, 35 families, 5 classes and 4 phyla were fixed in the quarry. 6 species from the Red Book of Samara Region were found in the composition of the local flora. Species penetration to the quarry is realized by dissemination from the nearest natural phytocenoses of Sokolii Mountains. Local flora of the quarry is significantly poorer than that of the Sokolii Mountains and differed by species composition that is explained by abiotic conditions specifics which are inherent to the technologically disturbed territory. Herbaceous and woody plants of the quarry are characterized by depressed vital condition. Modern local flora of the quarry is unbalanced and the process of its forming is continued.

(Hordeum lagunculiforme). The article describes the botanical materials from 3 burials of Ust-Smolka cemetery. During the work botanical materials from burials of Ust-Smolka were studied. The allocated carbonized materials: charcoal and seeds were singled out and fixed by a clay plaster layer flowers, seeds, fragments of twigs of herbaceous and woody plants, tree leaves were washed. The analysis of three burials botanical materials showed significant differences in species composition of plants: woody and herbaceous. Cultivated species were found only in samples of burial № 12 - Wheat (Triticum compactum) and Barley (Hordeum vulgare & Hordeum lagunculiforme).

Abstract Selected forestry parameters were investigated in the system of tree vegetation and wood-destroying fungi in parks of the Kyiv city along a gradient of recreational transformation. We investigated vitality, age structure and health conditions of woody plants (Acer platanoides L., Aesculus hippocastanum L., Carpinus betulus L., Frangula alnus Mill., Pinus sylvestris L., Quercus robur L., Q. rubra L., Sambucus nigra L., Tilia cordata Mill.), and species, systematic, trophic and spatial compositions of xylotrophic fungi (27 species of xylotrophs representing 22 genera, 16 families, 6 orders of divisions Basidiomycota; class Agaricomycetes). The results showed that the communities of tree vegetation and xylotrophic fungi in parks depend on the degree of recreational transformation of the environment. Vitality, age structure and health conditions of trees altered species composition of xylotrophs.

The paper presents the results of a comprehensive analysis of the species composition of Cheboksary. The analysis of the dendroflora of the urban environment was carried out according to 3 indicators: the territory of woody plants, the occurrence of woody plant species in landscaping, the structure of the landscaping system. The arboreal vegetation of Cheboksary is represented by 73 species belonging to 43 genera and 20 families. The predominant part of the dendroflora is represented by the covered-seeded plants (86,3%), the gymnosperms - 13,7%. In the dendroflora of green areas of the city, the most widely represented families are Rosaceae, Pinaceae, Salicaceae (48%). The analysis of the species composition of woody plants showed that in the functional and economic zones of Cheboksary plantings of general use are represented by 65 species, plantings of limited use - 52 species, plantings along the streets and main roads - 50 species. The analysis of the species composition of woody plants depending on the share of their participation in landscaping revealed that the greatest number of woody plants is used with low (51 species) and medium (50 species) share. The analysis of the degree of participation of woody plants in landscaping in the four identified functional and economic zones of Cheboksary found that the greatest number of taxa prevail with an average participation in the central zone (37 species), the coastal and suburban zones (36 species). The largest number of species of woody plants grow in the green areas of the central functional and economic zone, where the landscaping involved 66 species, the smallest number grow in the green areas of the industrial area (36 species).

The aim of this study was to determine the current level of atmospheric heavy metal content on the Bozdag Mountain of the Aegean Region, Turkey. Twenty nine different plants were selected to study their potential as biomonitors of trace elements such as Ni, Zn, Fe, Pb, Mn and Cd (?g g-1, dry weight). The samples were collected from two different altitudes of Mt. Bozdag. The concentrations of trace elements were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry. The mean concentrations determined at 1000 m altitude ranged from 0.025 to 1.609, 0.232 to 0.731, 0.578 to 5.983, 0.287 to 0.565 and 0.176 to 2.659 (?g g-1, dry weight), for Ni, Zn, Fe, Pb and Mn, respectively. At the altitude of 1600 m, the values ranged from 0.023 to 0.939, 0.258 to 1.254, 0.839 to 5.176, 0.301 to 1.341 and 0.405 to 3.351 (?g g-1, dry weight) for Ni, Zn, Fe, Pb and Mn, respectively. No Cd was detected at either altitude. Statistical significance was determined by the independent sample t-test and comparisons were made in order to determine if there were any differences between the averages of herbaceous and woody plants. .

The article demonstrates the results of studies about species composition of lichens, fungi, mosses and higher vascular plants found in the ribbon pine forests in the Minusinsk town and its vicinity. The article based on the original authors’ herbaria. 62 basidial macromycetes, 80 lichens and 210 species of the higher vascular plants were found in the studied area. The plant communities and their dominant species were studied.
