In special education and rural education interface we find important points about teacher training and their reflexes in the schooling of special education students in rural schools. This paper fulfills the objective of analyzing fundamental documents of the two teaching modalities in question in order to understand mainly what concerns teacher training. The methodological path used in the construction of this text was guided by documentary research of four legal documents of the two teaching modalities. In the policy interface, we saw that the investigated documentation shows concern with the quality of teacher training, although it does not deal with careers and professional development, nor with more specific aspects of the role of Higher Education Institutions in their training. In the end, it is hoped that the discussions presented here will help to promote new and denser research on the fundamental role that teachers play in rural schools.

Nursing the patient with acute myocardial infarction (AMI)Abstract: This is a study that discusses acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the relevance of nursing practice to the patient affected by AMI, as well as to describe the concept of the pathology and to identify the risk factors for its development. The work was constructed through bibliographical research with a qualitative approach. AMI is a pathology of the cardiovascular system, being associated to factors such as obesity, sedentary lifestyle, smoking and Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases. Regarding the role of the nurse in relation to the patient with AMI, it was evidenced that it acts at various moments of hospital care, and should make use of Nursing Care Systematization (SAE) as a way to guarantee the quality of care. At the end of the day nurses have a very important role in the care given to inpatients suffering from acute myocardial infarction.Descriptors: Acute Myocardial Infarction, Nurse, Care. Actuación de la enfermería al paciente con infarto agudo del miocardio (IAM)Resumen: Se trata de un estudio que realiza una discusión acerca del Infarto Agudo del Miocardio (IAM). This paper discusses the role of special education in Finland and Norway. There are major differences in how special education is understood in these countries. The different perspective that Finland and Norway have on the concept of inclusion is also striking. The PISA test results show that the Finnish school is performing well, partly because of flexible part-time special education; the early intervention strategy also plays a role in this success. These aspects are making Finnish schools inclusive; support is offered immediately when it is needed without any bureaucratic process. An effective teacher education program is also a key element in creating a successful school system. Norway’s relatively weak educational results could mean that despite their strong focus on inclusion, Norwegian schools are not inclusive. The quality of special education is debated. If it is true that special education is helping to create success in schools, then clearly there is a need to discover more about the different systems and what factors may influence that success. Despite the close geographical and political relationship between Norway and Finland, there exists clear differences in the educational area.

Objective: understanding the meaning of managing nursing care for puerperae and newborns in primary healthcare. Methods: qualitative study, based on the theoretical framework of Data-based Theory. Participant observation and semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with eleven primary healthcare nurses. The analytical process involved open, axial, and selective coding/integration. Results: the central phenomenon, Promoting the management of nursing care in primary healthcare, indicates the leadership of nurses when dealing with challenges in the context of care. That suggests actions and interactions to guarantee autonomy and the quality of care, in addition to empowering the parents. Conclusion: the management of care from nurses who participated in the research aims to embrace the mother-child and family particularities since the prenatal, and to promote a singular, multidimensional, continuous, vigilant, and systematized care, which values the subjectivity and the main role of the woman-mother and the care they should have with themselves and the newborn.

Persons with advanced dementia disease (ADD), here labelled PADDs, are shown to preserve parts of their self, which has opened up possibilities for involving them in their own care and establishing strategies for improving their communication with the surrounding world. Using the well-known theory of human development proposed by Erik and Joan Erikson, here labelled EJET, can operate as an efficient structure for formal caregivers to support PADDs in reclaiming their space. However, very few studies have used EJET as a framework in improving formal caregivers’ competence and the quality of care. This article aims to demonstrate the feasibility of applying EJET in the care of PADDs through two examples of successful application of this framework in interacting with PADDs in residential care settings. The examples demonstrate the significance of competent caregivers and the important role of tailoring nursing care plans to specific situations of the PADDs in their present and previous developmental phases.

The role of a consulting nurse in chronic medical cases is very important in helping with compliance, client education and ultimately welfare and quality of life. In patients with chronic renal failure the use of the International Renal Interest Society (IRIS) score enables all veterinary professionals to be able to implement any guidelines or protocols (care bundles) in order to benefit the health of the animal and to have these incorporated into long-term care plans.
