This article contains own and literature data on stimulating influence of constant light illumination on the risk of the development of anovulation, hyperplastics processes and cancers of the female reproductive system organs (mammary gland, endometrium, and ovaries) in the laboratory animals and women. Contrary, the light deprivation obstacles to the cancer development. The ata on the key role of the inhibition of production of pineal hormone melatonin in the pathology that developed under the effect of light-at-night as well as on the possible prevention of this pathology with melatonin and pineal peptides are reported.

Photocatalysis based on optically active, “plasmonic” metal nanoparticles has emerged as a promising approach to facilitate light-driven chemical conversions under far milder conditions than thermal catalysis. However, an understanding of the relation between thermal and electronic excitations has been lacking. We report the substantial light-induced reduction of the thermal activation barrier for ammonia decomposition on a plasmonic photocatalyst. We introduce the concept of a light-dependent activation barrier to account for the effect of light illumination on electronic and thermal excitations in a single unified picture. This framework provides insight into the specific role of hot carriers in plasmon-mediated photochemistry, which is critically important for designing energy-efficient plasmonic photocatalysts.

Aim. To estimate the informativity of the technique of magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) of pelvic organs in diagnosis of genital endometriosis in women of reproductive age. Materials and methods. The results of pelvic organs MRT from 415 women aged 1845 years were analyzed. The examination was implemented using the apparatus Philips Intera 1.5 Tl. The method of copying the results of MR-investigations was used to receive the data on localization, degree of dissemination of endometriosis foci and concomitant diseases of female reproductive system, which were later compared with the results of the existing echographic studies of pelvic organs. Results. The study demonstrated higher informativity of magnetic resonance tomography in diagnosis of different forms of endometriosis and gynecological pathology associated with it, unlike echography. Out of 415 women, who underwent magnetic resonance tomography of pelvic organs, endometriosis was diagnosed in 20 % of the examined women, while echographic study only in 4 %. When implementing ultrasound, the signs of malignant neoplasms of the uterine neck and ovaries were not detected in a part of patients, whereas revealed with MRT of pelvic organs and further confirmed by the results of histological studies. Conclusions. Application of magnetic resonance tomography permits to improve significantly diagnosis of endometriosis that is important for determination of adequate tactics of treatment, taking into account the existing concomitant gynecological pathology.

Rapid maxillary expansion is defined as the release of medio-palatine suture using an orthopedic forces. The role of this procedure is to expand  the upper jaw in order to achieve the  broadening of the upper arch. This study was initiated to quantify the effects of disjunction and post- treatment bone changes, after an adequate contention which lasted for three weeks. This study  is  carried on laboratory animals (common breed rabbit) to determine tensile strength and the elasticity modulus of  biological materials  used in orthdodontics. The results of the study are consistent with those reported in the literature reference.

Currently, there are no standard approaches to monitoring patients with ovarian cancer (OC). While the role of ultrasound (US) has been identified in the primary diagnosis of OS, it is still controversial during the subsequent surgical treatment of OC. In world statistics, ovarian cancer is consistently among the four main localizations of malignant tumors of the female reproductive system, along with tumors of the breast, body and cervix.
