The aim of the study is to assess the features of the formation and implementation of the risks of HIV infection in the city of Moscow, taking into account the gender, type of contact, number of partners, sexual activity, information on the use of barrier protection means. To develop proposals for raising awareness of key (vulnerable) groups of the population. Materials and methods. A survey study involved 329 patients who were on the primary admission to the AIDS Moscow Municipal Center. Four groups of observation, separated by gender and HIV status, were selected. On the base of absolute values, the relative indices for each studied sigh were calculated, the errors in the representativeness of the relative indices were determined, the reliability of the differences in relative values was estimated, the probability of an error-free forecast was assumed to be equal to or greater than 95% (p ≥ 95%). Results and discussion There is established the high prevalence and significant role of anal intercourses (AIC) in the transmission of HIV infection to both men and women among the residents of the metropolitan region along with the lack of awareness of the potential risks of this form of sexual contact in the transmission of HIV infection. The low frequency of condom use by men practicing the AIC has been revealed. The preventive effect of control by women on the use of condoms by their partners has been confirmed. Conclusion As the main tasks to optimize preventive measures for HIV infection, it is necessary to consider informing key (vulnerable) population groups of the base of women's consultations and medical organizations of the dermatovenerologic profile concerning the potential danger of the AIC and the preventive value of barrier protection.

The HIV epidemic has been going on for nearly thirty years, it is a heterogeneous, dynamic and highly resistant to countermeasures. The Leningrad Region and the city of St. Petersburg today are referred to the most affected regions of the Russian Federation, as nearly 1% of the population of this city has HIVpositive status. Despite the decline in the HIV infection incidence of the resident population of the Central District, the epidemiological situation for HIV infection remains to be tense, due to the increase in the cumulative number of HIV-infected and AIDS patients, the increase ofthe morbidity rate and mortality in co-infected patients with HIV/tuberculosis, activation of the output of the epidemic in vulnerable groups into the general population. At the same time, a cohort of HIV-infected patients with a high risk of late detection of tuberculosis continues to form

Background: Within the veterinary field there are currently limited data on the role of registered veterinary nurses (RVNs) in improving the health of brachycephalic canines. To tackle this the veterinary team must discourage further breeding of those with predisposed health conditions. This can be done through raising awareness. Aims: The purpose of this study was to determine the nursing implications of overbreeding French and British Bulldogs. RVNs completed an online questionnaire on brachycephalic canines and clinical occurrence in practice. Data collected were extracted from NoviSurvey and analysed using Excel and Minitab 15. Results: Out of 103 participants, 67 responses were valid. Results showed a high prevalence of brachycephalic canines in practice, with 79% of RVNs treating them at least once a day. Caesarean sections were common, with 43% of RVNs identifying genetic abnormalities in brachycephalic litters on a frequent basis. Social media was identified as a cause for the increase in ownership. Conclusion: The veterinary profession must now play a larger role in public education to assist in improving welfare in these breeds.

AbstractThis article analyzes the role of pickets in two of the most emblematic strikes in Brazilian labor history during the twentieth century: the “strike of the 400,000,” which involved several industry categories in São Paulo and neighboring cities in 1957, and the “forty-one days strike” in 1980 involving the metalworkers of the industrial belt, known as ABC Paulista, in the metropolitan region of the city of São Paulo. Both strikes broke out at a time of profound reconfiguration of Brazilian society, marked by industrialization, migration, and urbanization processes. Although separated by a time gap of almost twenty-five years, both the “strike of the 400,000” and the “forty-one days strike” reveal important aspects of the performance of workers in that crucial period of Brazilian history.

With the aim of redesigning the geometry of the Malecòn, a vertical face seawall protecting the northern waterfront of the city of La Habana, a wide experimental campaign was carried out. The latter was performed in the frame of a collaboration between the Government of the isle of Cuba and the CUGRI consortium, an Italian institution which joins the Universities of Salerno and Napoli “Federico II”. The different solutions investigated allowed both to detect the best solution for reducing the overtopping and to assess the role of wave setup and low frequency components of the incoming wave spectrum on the predictions of the mean overtopping rate. The stability of two nearshore structures designed to protect the seawall has also been assessed.

Shared decision-making (SDM), a component of patient-centered care, is the process in which the clinician and patient both participate in decision-making about treatment; information is shared between the parties and both agree with the decision. Shared decision-making is appropriate for health care conditions in which there is more than one evidence-based treatment or management option that have different benefits and risks. The patient's involvement ensures that the decisions regarding treatment are sensitive to the patient's values and preferences. Audiologic rehabilitation requires substantial behavior changes on the part of patients and includes benefits to their communication as well as compromises and potential risks. This article identifies the importance of shared decision-making in audiologic rehabilitation and the changes required to implement it effectively.

Examination of (35) samples of spices obtained from local markets for the purposes of isolating and diagnosing fungi growing on them. Anine isolates belonging to 13 different types of fungi were diagnosed by the standard dilution method with three replications, and it has been observed that the most samples from which the fungi were isolated is ginger. It was found that the most isolated species of fungi are Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Rizupes spp. A rare colony of fungi was observed, which indicates contamination of the spices under study with the fungus. The present study aims to identify the potential risks of the presence of fungi in spices and what may result from mycotoxins that may be the cause of many chronic diseases as a result of using these spices in large quantities. The study recommends limiting the use of contaminated spices, especially ginger, in preparing food and its uses, in addition to other types such as cloves, black and white pepper, and other types of spices found in the local markets, especially the expired ones.
