The review considers the communicative aspect of the professional activity of a doctor, where communication acts as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool. The concept of «Empathy» was examined. The necessity of forming empathic abilities as a professionally important quality is substantiated, and as a condition for productive professional communication during the period of study at the university. The principles of the organization of the educational process that contribute to an increase in the level of empathy among students in the conditions of a medical college are described, as well as the psychological mechanism for the formation of professional self-development of to-be specialists’ personality. The methods that allow not only to form the empathic culture of the student are enumerated, as well as methods permitting to maintain a certain level of the empathic culture of the teacher himself. The results of the study of the components of professional burnout and the level of empathic tendencies of medical workers of various specialties are considered. Sex differences in the evaluation of personal empathy and selfishness as well as age differences in the evaluation of altruistic behavior are discussed

The following paper discusses the actual task of modern technical specialist training: getting him/her ready to communicate professionally in a foreign language. Practice requests are naturally reflected in the development of curricula and programs of higher professional education. The author demonstrates the urgency of the task in connection with the constantly changing foreign language professional communication, especially computer-mediated part of it. The author identifies two main approaches to the organization of studies at the university: changing the structure, content, methods of the course Foreign Language and the development of new courses of the curriculum. Within the framework of the second approach, the process of designing an educational and methodical complex for a professional communication course on the basis of a process approach is considered in some detail. The paper emphasizes the importance of using professional skills of prospective specialists to increase the effectiveness of the educational process, in particular, the development of copyright audio and video materials. The workshop for audio engineers, developed by the author of the paper, is successfully used in the educational process of Samara State Institute of Culture.

The article contains data on the features of using quasi-scientific video blogging in the educational process of a medical College. The main approaches to the definition of "digital security" in the modern Internet environment within the framework of social networks and in the broader aspect of the globalization of the information space are considered. It is proposed to conceptualize social network digital security as an element of the General culture of a modern student. The introduction of interactive methods of engagement using the potential of the Internet makes it possible to update students ' skills in applying the rules of in-network security, as well as to increase the effectiveness of training. The article examines the influence of quasi-scientific video blogging as a system for preparing content, posting it in social networks, and receiving feedback from other network users on the image of students, professional self-determination, and their attitude to intra-network security.

The article deals with the problem of improving the quality of training future navigators according to the strategic goals of the modernization of the educational process in Ukraine’s marine higher educational institutions, based on the humanistic paradigm, which requires special attention to the formation of future navigators’ communicative self-efficiency. The study of this problem is of particular relevance, since it is one of the main professional characteristics for representatives of the senior command navigators that enables them to carry out professional activities productively, adequately and at a high level: to organize the coordinated work of the crew, especially consisting of specialists of different nationalities, religious denominations, mentalities; competently and skilfully communicate with seaport employees, representatives of foreign companies, etc. The paper presents the conceptual provisions of A. Bandura, the founder of the theory of self-efficiency, its role and importance in person’s life as well as those of J. Caprari and D. Servon, D. Matsumoto (communication), educators (self-efficiency), (communicative self-efficiency) in the context of importance and the need to develop and form these phenomena for improving the quality of the training aimed at future navigators in higher education institutions of maritime profile. The phenomenon “communicative self-efficiency of the future navigators” has been defined; its essence and structure have been considered, the latter consisting of three components: reflexive (self-identification with navigators as model professionals, the presence of adequate self-assessment of their own actions in the field of professional communication, a stable reflexive position), cognitive-operational (awareness of the communicative sphere of maritime professional activity, skills, professional communication abilities); affective-behavioural (confidence in the possibility of productive communication in professional activities, emotionality, activity, responsibility, ability to self-regulate and self-sustain). The forms and methods for the formation of communicative self-efficiency of cadets of marine universities involved into the experiment have been presented: reflective workshop, keeping a reflective diary, which gave the cadet the opportunity to conduct self-analysis of their own professional actions and enhance self-understanding regarding the presence of the necessary professional personal qualities for performing their future professional activities effectively and building a positive Self-concept of the future navigator; the organizing dialogue “The role of the reflective component in developing future navigators’ communicative self-efficiency”, the technology “Developing confidence in self-efficiency and productive communication of future navigators in their future independent professional activities”, the training module “Communication skills”, etc. Keywords: communication, self-efficiency, communicative self-efficiency, future navigator, marine higher educational institution.

The subject of the article is the formation of professional culture of students; it is considered in order to improve the work on its formation in the educational process at the University, in particular-in RIPB-on the material of training economists, lawyers and customs officers. The authors describe professional culture as a set of special knowledge and practical skills of a person as an “employeeˮ, implemented in a specific type of socially significant work, emphasize that it is based on the universal values of a professional as a «person». Therefore, the formation of professional culture is inseparable from the socio-humanitarian development of students, carried out in the course of studying the relevant disciplines. According to the authors, any professional culture has its own organization (in our case - University), which is based on a particular professional activity (in particular, University training), while it embodies a Form that is subject to “fillingˮ with the specific Content of various activities as socially institutionalized pro-fessions. As conclusions, the following problems are substantiated: introduction of a special course “Professional cultureˮ; overcoming “departmentalˮ disciplinarity in the study of socio-humanitarian and professional dis-ciplines; improving the quality of “formalˮ training of students in the conditions of digitalization and comput-erization; development of a culture of extracurricular forms of professional work.

The article presents a lapidary analysis of possibilities of using the case method and the project method in the formation of professional thinking of students studying philology and journalism. We also consider the possibilities of using case technology and project method in the process of studying professionally oriented disciplines. The practical significance of the work comes down to disclosing the effectiveness of the case method and the method of projects in the process of forming professional skills. The relevance of this article is determined by modern realities of educational process at the university. The case method and the method of projects make it possible to increase the motivational component of learning and contribute to the development of teachers’ progressive thinking and students’ creative potential, both of which are necessary for professional activities. In this article we also made an attempt at revealing the essence of these methods in the educational process at bachelor’s level. They turned out to be the main methods for the formation of students’ universal and professional competencies. The project method and case method act as an integral factor in the gamification of educational process contributing to the formation of skills of expedient action, activation of thinking, instilling the skills of independent search for solutions in standard and non-standard situations that may come up in the course of professional activity. Students actively and productively master the necessary competencies while revealing their latent potential. The case method and the project method demonstrate great efficiency in improving the quality of personnel training; the specific types of their practical implementation are developed jointly during classes by university teachers and employers’ representatives. The purpose of the article is to determine the methodological potential of the case method and the method of projects in the formation of professional thinking of future philologists and journalists and to consider the possibilities of using case technology and the project method in the process of studying professionally oriented disciplines. The project method is a relevant and effective technology that significantly increases the level of mastery of educational material, the internal motivation of students and their independence. The case method initiates the development of professional thinking, independence, unconventional thinking and creativity. When faced with a formulated problem, students concentrate on finding a solution to the problem and the teacher’s skillful interpretation of the problem directs students to search for non-standard ways. Everything mentioned above leads to the development of integrative thinking and significantly expands students’ capabilities. The practice of working with the case method and the project method in the classroom confirms their effectiveness in the professional development of university students, expanding their professional horizons and the formation of professional thinking.

In the article the author shows the peculiarities of the development of socio-professional maturity of the future pedagogue in the context of pedagogical acmeology. Therefore, there is an urgent need to optimize the process of professional training of future lecturers on the basis of a new methodology that would combine personal and professional development in the educational process, direct professional self-determination and self-improvement of the future specialist, promote their self-realization and professional development. We believe that the process of professional training of future pedagogues should be based on the developed acmeogram and professiogram, model the professional and personal development of the specialist in accordance with the content and objectives of professional activity. Further vocational education is one of the priorities of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Nowadays professional retraining is of special interest for those who wish to get further vocational education. The article examines the relevance of the Translator in the Field of Professional Communication programme in the context of further vocational education at the present stage in a classical university setting. The authors describe the experience of implementing the above-mentioned programme at Nizhnevartovsk State University. The programme provides an opportunity for getting additional qualifications that allow for a combination of professional knowledge and translation competences in the area of professional interest. The authors emphasize the importance of the programme aimed at the university self-presentation at the regional level. The programme is designed for students with higher professional education and university students of non-linguistic specialties. The article sets out the legal basis on which the programme was developed, presents the main provisions of the program, the content and form of, the technology and teaching methods used, as well as the planned results of the programme. The article stresses that in accordance with the objectives of the programme and FSES 3++, students should develop universal, general professional and vocational competencies, which allow graduates to implement a new type of professional activity in the field of translation. The factors conditioned viability and demand for this professional retraining programme are pointed out. In conclusion the authors underline the students realization of a foreign language command pragmatic value while pursuing the programme.

The expediency of conducting research and experimental work at the stage of identifying opportunities to improve the educational process in training future public health professionals on the basis of interdisciplinary integration is substantiated. The article is devoted to the role of experimental pedagogical research as a means of testing the effectiveness of interdisciplinary integration in the training of future public health professionals. It is generalized that the issue of professional training of future specialists in the specialty «Public Health» in the pedagogical literature is considered as a component of professional self-determination and professional development in the context of the study of professional self-awareness. It is proved that the interdisciplinary integration in the training of future public health professionals is an integrated component that combines individual and personal features (awareness of the choice of profession, completeness and strength of knowledge in the chosen profession, the formation of professionally significant and empathetic qualities). It is socially oriented and oriented at building relationships and positioning oneself in the team, develops the ability to make decisions independently and take responsibility as well as personality characteristics; it implies the presence of strong beliefs in the values of the profession of public health specialist for the design of their own subjective deontological position in the work connected with their specialty. It is substantiated that the professional training of future medical professionals on the basis of interdisciplinary integration involves creating conditions for identifying personal and social experience of students with the profession and the professional community, is a process of mastering normative professional requirements that allow them to adequately perceive medical reality, as well as to develop professionally expedient strategies and tactics, tasks and plans of professional activity, to consciously regulate one’s own behavior within the established professional and normative imperatives. It was found that the professional training of future public health professionals on the basis of interdisciplinary integration is characterized by the presence of future professionals with a set of knowledge that reflects the substantive essence of intellectual, ideological and moral values; the ability to predict and design the process of professional activity taking into account its specifics in interaction with colleagues and patients and is determined by the content of professional medical ethics and deontology, ethical and moral imperatives and professional and ethical ideals and values of public health. The peculiarities of the formation of professional training of future public health specialists on the basis of interdisciplinary integration are studied.

The purpose of the study is to investigate how visiting lectureship is capable to reshape and improve the university curriculum for four different majors such as educational policy, instruction, healthcare, and technology. The research is significant because it addresses some current challenges forming a crisis of higher education such as an instructional challenge, a fiscal challenge, a birth rate-related challenge, and a graduate employment challenge. This study combines exploratory and quasi-experimental research methods, and Baseline Study Survey Questionnaires (BSSQ), Questionnaire to Measure Research Skills (QMRS), The students’ research activeness checklist, Professional Self-development Critical Reflection Scale (PSCRS), along with Self-directed Learning Skills Scale (SLSS) are the research instruments used in this study. The sample used are 184 (169 students and 15 lecturers), and key data are drawn from the assessment of students’ research skills and activeness, professional self-development, self-directed learning and self-education skills, and professional socialisation by students themselves and their teachers before and after the intervention. The stakeholders’ perceptions of visiting lectureship such as students, lecturers, and representatives of the host organisations are studied using the focus group interviews. It is found that visiting lectureship reshapes and improves the university curriculum of four different majors namely: educational policy, instruction, healthcare, and technology. Add to this, visiting lectureship positively influences students’ research activeness, professional self-development, self-directed learning & self-education skills, and professional socialisation, and it is positively perceived by students, lecturers, and representatives of the host organisations. Visiting lectureship also increases lecturers’ motivation to provide a higher quality of instruction. Besides, it benefits the potential employers as these are involved in the educational process at the early stage of the programme in its design and updating, which will result in a more competent and competitive staff for them to hire.

The article considers the formation of professional motivation in future speech pathologists. The importance of solving this issue is emphasized, because the work of a defectologist requires the presence of special characteristics in his personality, the formation of which is carried out during their training. Issues of personal development of the student and the formation of his readiness for future professional activity become the main in the outlined situation. The psychological and personal readiness of the specialist for professional self-realization in modern conditions is important. It is emphasized that the transformation of the requirements for professionals of different natural influences the solution of the question of the complex relationship of personal and professional development of the subject. The question of quality criteria for the training of future speech pathologists can not be considered separately from the requirements of a particular environment in which the specialist works. It is at the stage of professional training in the university begin to develop in a specialist-defectologist those values and motives that determine the success of his work in the profession, and for this it is necessary to study the formation of professional values and motives in the formation of future defectologists.
