The paper was used for theoretical metod – analysis of scientific literature and empirical research method – use of communication skill assessment tool in music lesson, pedagogical observations and conclusions. The paper updates the communication skills assessment tool for children up to three years old. These are children in a social care institution until a decision is made about his future. The author main conclusions of the study: 1. In order to ensure the environment for children in music classes, in order to promote the development of communication skills, the adult must be scientifically trained. It is important that the educational factor is based on scientific foundations. 2. The child is not an object that must constantly learn and train something. The task of adults to see the child's own initiative to participate and support their goals. At the same time to achieve mutual satisfaction with the work done. 3. The child absorbs the language long before he begins to speak so you need to give more opportunities to self–express your musical lessons. By using various musical components, the child improves his experience, as a result his communication skills are improved.

The study aimed to determine the perceptions of preservice social studies teachers about communication; metaphors were employed to determine communication skill perceptions. In the study, a qualitative research method known as phenomenology design was employed. The study group included 127 preservice social studies teachers in various classes. In the study, metaphoric perceptions form was used to collect the data. The collected data were analysed with content analysis. The study findings demonstrated that preservice social studies teachers produced 36 valid metaphors in 7 different conceptual categories (a requirement, a nonverbal code system, a mutual process, a positive connotation, a unifying element, a dynamic phenomenon, communication as a method to reflect ideas). The total metaphor count and metaphor frequencies revealed that the highest number of metaphors was produced in the communications as a requirement category. The most repeated metaphor in this category was the requirement of water to sustain life. In this category, concepts such as blood, breathing, and oxygen, which are important for human life, were expressed as metaphors that represented communication skills.

According to many scientists a brand is one of the most important sources of acquiring competitive advantage. This attitude is confirmed by the fact that there are many scientific works on brand image. But there is a lack of theoretical and empirical research on the formation and strengthening of an image of a private brand. It should be noted that theoretical and empirical research, performed by Reda (2002), Ailawadi et al. (2003), based on Batra and Sinha (2000), Garretson et al. (2002), Burton and Lichtenstein (1998), confirm that factors that influence the formation and strengthening of the image of a private brand have not been sufficiently analysed. The scientific problem of this article is formulated with the help of the following questions: what is the influence of a store’s image and factors that determine it on the image of a private brand? The aim of this article is to analyse and summarize factors that form private brand image theoretically, and to test them empirically with the help of the example of the store “Aprangos galerija”. The methods of comparative analysis of scientific literature and systematization were used in order to reach the set aim. Quantitative research method (survey) was applied for empirical research of private brand image strengthening in the aspect of the store “Aprangos galerija”. Factor analysis was used for data analysis. Multiple linear regression was used for identification of causalities between variables. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, having summarized the results of the performed theoretical and empirical research it is stated that one of the sources of competitive advantage for stores is the creation of a positive and strong private brand image in consumers’ consciousness. It should be noted that brand identity elements and associations, related to the product itself and its perceived quality and emotions, form a positive private brand image. Having revealed the conceptual essence of an image, having analysed the structure of a company’s image, having identified factors that determine a store’s image and based on the results of scientific theoretical and empirical research it is stated that a store’s image depends on the following factors: services, convenience, quality, product variety, product prices, and store atmosphere. The results of the performed empirical research have shown that factors forming a store’s image (convenience and store atmosphere) have the biggest influence on a positive private brand image. It should be noted that factors determining a store’s image such as product variety and price also form a positive private brand image. Based on theoretical provisions and results of empirical research a conclusion is made that in order to strengthen a private brand image it is necessary to make decisions related to the store’s place, atmosphere, stock formation, and pricing.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5755/j01.ee.23.1.1227

Abstract Background: The assessment of perschoolers’ motor skills is essential to know young children’s motor development and evaluate the intervention effects of promotion in children’s sport activities. The purpose of this study was to review the motor skills assessment tools in Chinese preschool-aged children, compare them in the international context, and provide guidelines to find appropriate motor skill assessment tool in China. Methods: The comprehensive literature search was carried out in WANGFAGN, CNKI, VIP, ERIC, EMBASE, MEDLINE, Ovid PsycINFO, SPORTDiscus and BIOSIS previews databases. Relevant articles published between January 2000 and May 2020 were retrieved. Studies that described the discriminative and evaluative measures of motor skills among the population aged 3-6 years in China were included. Results: A total of 17 studies were included in this review describing 7 tools including 4 self-developed tools and 3 international tools used in China. TGMD-2 appeared in a large proportion of studies, international tools used in China were incomplete in terms of translation, verification of reliability and validity, item selection and the implementation. Regarding the self-constructed tools, the CDCC was the most utilized self-developed tool, but it was mainly applied in intellectual development assessment. Through the comparison between Chinese self-constructed and international tools, the construction of the CDCC and the Gross Motor Development Assessment Scale contained relatively complete development steps. The test content, validity and reliability, implementation instruction, and generalizability of self-constructed tools are still lacking. Conclusions: Both international and self-developed motor skills assessment tools have been rarely applied in China, available tools lack enough validation and appropriate adjustments. Cultural differences in motor development between Chinese and Western populations should be considered when constructing a Chinese localized MSAT.

Background: Assessment of physicians’ communication skills with patients is essential to ensure effective treatment. Achieving such a goal requires the use of a valid, native, and culturally-based tool. This study aimed to design a physician-patient communication skills assessment tool and evaluate its validity and reliability among the medical students of Guilan University of Medical Sciences, Rasht City, Iran. Methods: In this cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical study, out of 400 medical students (interns), 300 were selected by a stratified random sampling method. The initial tool with 30 items was evaluated by calculating the item impact index in the target group. Also, its ratio and content validity indexes were assessed by 10 experts’ views and factor analysis. The reliability of the research tool was confirmed by assessing the internal consistency by calculating the Cronbach alpha value.  Results: Out of the 30 initial items, after calculating the item impact score index of higher than 1.5, the content validity ratio greater than 0.51, the content validity index higher than 0.79, and exploratory factor analysis,18 items remained and were considered suitable for the physician-patient communication skills assessment tool. Then, these variables were loaded considering the amount of special value greater than 1 under four factors. The reliability of the research tool was confirmed by calculating the Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0.92. The instrument was also confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis regarding its appropriate fitness indices. This study provided a proper and native instrument with 18 valid and reliable items for the assessment of physician-patient communication skills in medical students.  Conclusion: The results of this study could be of interest to researchers in evaluating physician-patient communication skills in other medical sciences universities of Iran.
