The article provides data on the study of the patient’s image as a component of the image of the world among students of a medical university. The theoretical and methodological foundation was the provision that the image of the patient is implicitly represented in the semantic space of future doctors by semantic categories in the structure of a holistic multi-level system of ideas about the world, other people, about themselves and their activities, i.e. image of the world. The patient’s image was studied as a factor in the effectiveness of the interaction between the doctor and the patient in the provision of medical care. The effectiveness of interaction is one of the tools for making relevant clinical decisions, taking into account the opinion of the patient, which ensures patient-oriented medical consultation. 300 students of the 1 and 6 courses of the Ural State Medical University of the Faculty of Medicine were examined. The patient’s image was experimentally studied using methods: semantic personality differential, color metaphors and color choices. Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that the image of a patient in medical students is represented by various kinds of semantic categories (friendly, irrational, irritable, etc.). The content of the semantic categories of the patient’s image differs at the beginning and at the end of training: from multidirectional characteristics to ordered in the form of a typical and ideal patient. It has been established that the content of the patient’s image can be purposefully formed when mastering the educational program. The inclusion of an educational module in clinical teaching disciplines on the skills of professional communication with the patient (as one of the tools for making clinical decisions in the provision of medical care) affects the change in the content of the patient’s image in future doctors.

Languages differ in the ways they divide the world. This study applies cluster analysis to understand how and why languages differ in the way they express motion events. It further lays out what the parameters of the structure of the semantic space of motion are, based on data collected from participants who were adult speakers of Danish, German, and Turkish. The participants described 37 video clips depicting a large variety of motion events. The results of the study show that the segmentation of the semantic space displays a great deal of variation across all three groups. Turkish differs from German and Danish with respect to the features used to segment the semantic space – namely by using vector orientation. German and Danish differ greatly with respect to (a) how fine-grained the distinctions made are, and (b) how motion verbs with a common Germanic root are distributed across the semantic space. Consequently, this study illustrates that the parameters applied for categorization by speakers are, to some degree, related to typological membership, in relation to Talmy's typological framework for the expression of motion events. Finally, the study shows that the features applied for categorization differ across languages and that typological membership is not necessarily a predictor of elaboration of the motion verb lexicon.

The proliferation of crises around the world has led to a sharp increase in the scale of humanitarian aid required to meet the vital needs of the people affected by them for food, water, medical care and shelter. Humanitarian organizations can either meet those needs directly or support local services engaged in the same work. In most cases, both approaches are used.

The author revises the latest evidence in the literature regarding of organizing medical care for patients with osteoporosis in primary medical care. In the world, there is an increase in the group of older people (60 years and older), therefore, the problem of osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures becomes very urgent. In Russia, the number of hip fractures will increase by 70% by 2050 compared to 2015. The article provides an overview of studies demonstrating the clinical and cost-effectiveness of population-based screening programs for the identification and subsequent treatment of patients at high risk of fractures, and discusses the issues of secondary prevention of fractures. With the active identification of patients at high risk of fractures and the initiation of antiosteoporotic therapy, a decrease in the incidence of osteoporotic fractures, including hip fractures, is expected.

We have reported that 40 specific intractable diseases and 24 types of cancer and malignancies as well as Kawasaki disease may be triggered by pollen in our previous papers.Further, we reported in 2021 two articles regarding relation of outbreak of Influenza and COVID-19, and pollen exposure. In this paper, five distinguished ophthalmologists will be considered and described. Mikito Takayasu was the first person to report the discovery of Takayasu's arteritis, one of the vasculitis syndromes, which may be a pollen-induced disease as well as Kawasaki disease. Next, Einosuke Harada, Alfred Vogt and Yoshizo Koyanagi are considered and described as the reporters of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease. The fifth ophthalmologist is Li Wenliang who was the first person in the world to report the outbreak of SARS-COV-2 infection. Many people are still unaware of the fact that exposure to pollen can lead to many diseases. The author hopes that those who are involved in medical care will consider the scientific facts, keep their eyes open, and use this knowledge in their daily activities, although clear proof in experimental medicine is craved.

Diseases of the circulatory system are considered a serious problem all over the world, as the mortality rate from them exceeds the mortality rate from any other causes. The list of organizational reserves for improving medical care for the population with diseases of the circulatory system on the basis of strengthening preventive activities focused on the final results is justified.

The Chair of skin and venereal diseases was organized in 1872. Its first head was professor A.G. Ge, who graduated from the Medical faculty of Kazan University in 1865 and as early as 1868 defended his thesis for a Doctor of Medicine degree. From 1870 to 1872 A. G. Ge studied skin and venereal diseases abroad, in the clinics of the largest dermatologists Gebra, Zeisle, Sigmund and Brucke (in Vienna and Wrzburg). Thanks to his persistence and efforts on March 1, 1900 a new clinic was opened, built on donations of State Councilor I.I. Alafuzov, the owner of several factories in Kazan. A.G. Ge owns 20 works. The result of my many years of clinical teaching, personal observations and researches was the textbook "The course of venereal diseases", which was reprinted 8 times during the author's life. A considerable part of my works is devoted to the issues of organization of struggle against syphilis and prostitution. Prof. A.G. Ge headed the department for 35 years.

Revolutionary wars have devastating and far-reaching effects on the health of the populations caught up in them. However, the deaths and injuries produced by weaponry are only part of the story, because diseases resulting from malnutrition and contaminated drinking water account for the majority of medical problems. This essay uses photographs and testimonies of participants to explore health issues during the Mexican Revolution (1910-1920), as well as incorporating secondary literature on this question. Furthermore, photographic images are not presented as simple (indexical) windows onto the world. Rather, the author attempts to identify the imagemakers and provide explanations that help in imagining the reasons behind the making of the photographs.

Background: Pediatric clinical skills teaching sessions provide an early opportunity for students to be exposed to the medical care of children. This report describes second and third year medical students’ perceptions of and attitudes towards working with children before and after the pediatric clinical skills teaching sessions, and the experiences of those students precepted by pediatricians only compared to those students working with a combination of pediatricians and family physicians.Method: A 13 question survey was voluntarily completed before and after teaching sessions.  Written reflective assignments were qualitatively analyzed for key themes. Response rate averaged 68% with class sizes of 84 and 85 students. Results: Students’ perceptions of the care of children were generally very positive.  Some differences were found based on gender, phase of study and prior clinical exposure to pediatric care.  Pre and post responses were similar, regardless of preceptor specialty. Students with family physician preceptors identified the themes of prevention, health promotion and multidisciplinary care in their reflections. Conclusions: Students had already formed positive attitudes toward the medical care of children and intended to care for children in their future practice. Further research is needed into the effects of pre-clerkship experiences in the care of children on choice of medical specialty.
