Background: Developer experience should be considered a key factor from the beginning of the use of development platform, but it has not been received much attention in literature. Research Goals: The present study aimed to identify and validate the sub-constructs and item measures in the evaluation of developer experience toward the use of a deep learning platform. Research Methods: A Delphi study as well as a series of statistical methodologies including the assessment of data normality, common method bias, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were utilized to determine the reliability and validity of a measurement model proposed in the present work. Results: The results indicate that the measurement model proposed in this work successfully ensures the nomological validity of the three second-order constructs of cognitive, affective, and behavioral components to explain the second-order construct of developer experience at p < 0.5 Conclusions: The measurement instrument developed from the current work should be used to measure the developer experience during the use of a deep learning platform. Implication: The results of the current work provide important insights into the academia and practitioners for the understanding of developer experience.

Stresses of a structure are determined with a first or a second order analysis. The choice of the method is guided by the potential influence of the structure’s deformation. In general, considering their low rigidity with regard to those of buildings, scaffolding and shoring structures quickly reach buckling failure. Imperfections, such as structural defects or residual stresses, generate significant second order effects which have to be taken into account. The main challenge is to define these imperfections and to include them appropriately in the calculations. The present study suggests a new approach to define all the structure’s imperfections as a unique imperfection, based on the shape of elastic critical buckling mode of the structure. This study proposes a method allowing to determine the equation of the elastic critical buckling mode from the eigenvectors of the second order analysis of the structure. Subsequently, a comparative study of bending moments of different structures calculated according to current Eurocode 3 or 9 methods or according to the new method is performed. The obtained results prove the performance of the proposed method.

In this paper, we present a new approach to solving second order nonconvex perturbed sweeping process in finite dimensional setting. It consists in a reduction of the problem to a first order one without use of the standard methods of fixed point theory. The perturbation, that is the external force applied on the system is not necessary with bounded values.

This study aimed to analyze measurement invariance of the Behavioral Regulation Sports Questionnaire (BRSQ) across gender and four different sports. In addition, we examined nomological validity via basic psychological needs satisfaction. Participants totaled 1,812 Portuguese athletes (1,220 males and 592 females; aged 15–59 years, Mage = 17.72, SD = 5.51) from football ( n = 596), basketball ( n = 273), swimming ( n = 800), and parasport ( n = 143). The BRSQ measurement model was invariant across gender and these four sports. The scale confirmed nomological validity in that satisfaction of basic psychological needs positively predicted autonomous forms of motivation and negatively predicted more controlled motivation and amotivation as suggested by self-determination theory. In light of this evidence for BRSQ construct validity, composite reliability, nomological validity, and invariance across gender and four different sports, this scale is a useful tool for coaches of the aforementioned sports in their efforts to evaluate their athletes' motivation.

Extracting second-order structures from single-input state-space models: Application to model order reductionThis paper focuses on the model order reduction problem of second-order form models. The aim is to provide a reduction procedure which guarantees the preservation of the physical structural conditions of second-order form models. To solve this problem, a new approach has been developed to transform a second-order form model from a state-space realization which ensures the preservation of the structural conditions. This new approach is designed for controllable single-input state-space realizations with real matrices and has been applied to reduce a single-input second-order form model by balanced truncation and modal truncation.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to test a measurement model of a META-RELQUAL construct based upon South African business-supplier relationships. Design/methodology/approach – Data were collected using computer-assisted telephone interviews. The sampling frame consisted of the top 500 South African companies based on revenue. A total of 232 fully completed questionnaires were obtained representing a response rate of 46.4 per cent. Findings – The findings show satisfactory goodness-of-fit measures for the model tested. All the requirements for convergent, discriminant and nomological validity as well as construct reliability were achieved satisfactorily. Practical implications – The study provides a framework of constructs that South African business managers need to take into consideration in order to establish and maintain good relations with their suppliers. Originality/value – This study contributes to theory on relationship marketing and presents the first tested measurement model of the META-RELQUAL construct in Africa.
