The paper deals with subsidies in the agriculture and their sources from the perspective of their recipients. The review of literature points out the significance of subsidies for the economics of agriculture and also for the evaluation of the financial position and performance of entrepreneurial entities. The current national and supranational approaches to reporting subsidies within the farm accounting and financial statements are analyzed. The result of the analysis is an identification of distortions in the reported production power and the value of the company property, caused by the yield method which is based on the matching principle. This is also negatively reflected in the income tax base of the entities. Therefore, for a more real view of the situation in financial statements, two models suitable for reporting subsidies were proposed. These are based on the capital approach. The new approaches represent a transparent reporting of subsidies by their recipients in the form of a long-term financial source; they do not allow them to report unearned yields and, on the other hand, they do allow them to report a subsidized property at an unreduced purchase cost. Thus it is possible to compare economic data of the particular companies. This also has a positive effect on the burden of the subsidy recipients laid by income taxes.

Abstract. The information demands of a globalized society are forcing businesses to produce financial statements that meet the requirements of all stakeholders. The purpose of the article was to assess what information entities disclose in the financial statements prepared in accordance with IAS and IFRS, and what conflicts arise. Theoretical and methodological aspects of the results of scientists prove the importance of information disclosure in the financial statements prepared in accordance with IFRS. At the same time, the issue of disclosure of information in the financial statements remains open, taking into account the needs of current activities of enterprises. In view of this, there is a need to: study the provision of users of financial statements with information, the disclosure of which provides for international standards; testing hypotheses about the need to study the differences between the types of financial statements provided for in IFRS and IAS and reviewing the long-term liability in the event of early repayment. Based on the analysis, it is established that the information required for disclosure in the financial statements determines the type of financial statements. The conducted research testifies to the presence of gaps in IFRS in the order of compilation and information content of the combined reporting. It is proposed that the combined financial statements be prepared by entities that for one reason or another do not meet the requirements of IFRS 10. It is established that an important condition for reliable reflection in the Statement of financial position information on long-term credit is the need to analyze during the year. It is proposed to consider part of the long-term loan in the form of payments, which must be repaid within twelve months from the date of reporting, as a current liability. This approach requires reclassifying existing credit from long-term to current liabilities, which will lead to further changes in cash flow estimates, adjusting the carrying amount of liabilities. The results of the study can be used by practitioners in various sectors of the economy in the formation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS. This empirical paper analyzes the effect of trademark activity on the market value and performance of US commercial banks from two perspectives. First, a longterm perspective considers the effect of such activity on banks’ Tobin's q. Second, with a short-term perspective, the authors analyze the effect of trademark activity on banks’ abnormal returns. An older portfolio of trademarks diminishes the ratio of market value to firm assets, but this ratio can be improved in the long term by abandoning old trade-marks. Portfolios of trademarks with wide diversification do not help increase Tobin's q. Furthermore, according to an event study, the creation of a trademark has a positive effect on cumulative abnormal returns compared with no event, whereas a cancellation event has a negative impact.

In 1997 a review of the financial health of English county cricket highlighted strategic weaknesses within the professional game, principally an over-reliance by clubs on the annual grants provided to them by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Without such grants the teams, in general terms, would be insolvent. Using the financial statements of the First Class Cricket Counties, this paper explores how the financial position and performance of the county game has changed, 20 years on from the seminal study. A series of structural changes to the game had been made, yet financial problems are still evident. Counties are as reliant on central grant income as they were in 1997, although there are cases where clubs have made strategic enhancements and are becoming self-sustainable as going concerns. Rather than the ECB directly funding county revenue it should be working in collaboration with individual clubs to achieve developments in the game from the grassroots upwards, in order to help clubs grow their own revenue streams.

Abstract Financial statements represent an instrument by which relevant information about a company is passed on to its users. Based on the information presented in the financial statements, i.e. information on the financial position and performance of the company, and generated cash flows and capital, users make business decisions. Specific accounting policies serve as the basis for the preparation of quality financial statements. Management is responsible for the preparation and presentation of financial statements and selects accounting policies. Although simple, the issue of choosing the accounting policies can be extremely delicate and complex. Besides management, there are other stakeholders who may be affected by this issue. As a consequence, there are complex relationships that affect the choice of accounting policies, and thus the quality of financial statements.

The paper is aimed at the materiality of deferred tax in agricultural holdings and the development of a proposal for simplification of deferred tax reporting in agriculture. The analysis of materiality and the structure of deferred tax in agricultural holdings which are obliged to report deferred tax is researched. The dataset covers the financial statements of the agricultural holdings (joint stock companies) obliged to report deferred tax during the period 2011–2015. The dataset covers hand-collected 1 110 firm-years. Based on the results of the study, the category deferred tax was identified as a material category and has to be reported. We found that the most common title for deferred tax reporting is the difference between the tax base and the carrying amount of long-term assets. The comparison of return on assets and adjusted return on assets reflecting the elimination of the deferred taxes effect reveals that the effect of deferred tax reporting is not so high in the large agricultural holdings in the Czech Republic.

This study investigates the impact of firm attributes on the financial performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria’s financial sector. The scope of this research covered the period 2007 – 2018 using audited financial statements and reports of nine (9) deposit money banks listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The results revealed that bank liquidity has significant negative effect, while bank growth has insignificant negative effect on financial performance. On the other hand, bank size and leverage have insignificant positive effect on the financial performance of banks. It is recommended that banks should pay attention to liquidity management and use this to enhance performance. Also, the management of banks should endeavor to make use of their growth opportunities optimally.

Foundation is one form of a non-profit entity that aims to provide services to the public community without seeking advantage in carrying out its activities. The legal form of the foundation is often used as a shield to enrich the Founders, the Controllers, and the Directors. To minimize this, and in order to implement the principles of transparency and accountability to the public, the foundation should do the publication of its financial statements in accordance with the current SAK in Indonesia, the PSAK No. 45 (Revised 2011). The purpose of this study is to analyze the financial statements of the Indonesian Consumers Organization in accordance with PSAK No. 45 (Revised 2011). In this study, the author analyzed the data by collecting, interpreting, and analyzing it to produce conclusions about the true state, then compare it with PSAK No. 45 (Revised 2011). Based on the analysis and evaluation can be concluded that: (1) In the statement of financial position, there is no separation between current liabilities and long term liabilities. Also there is a mismatch use of the term "aktiva bersih" and "aset bersih" that should have been presented with the term "aset neto". (2) In the statement of activities, there is a mismatch use of the term "aktiva bersih" and "aset bersih" that should be presented with the term "aset neto". (3) In the statement of cash flows, there is still a mismatch use of the term "arus kas bersih" which is supposed to be served with the term "arus kas neto". (4) Notes to the financial statements are in accordance with PSAK No. 45 (Revised 2011).
