The results of the study of the adhesion strength of fiberglass and metal fittings with concrete with different mechanical characteristics are presented. These characteristics were established after the normal curing of concrete B15-30; B25 concrete samples were subjected to alternating freeze-thawing. Testing of all samples was carried out on the digging of reinforcement at a special stand according to GOST 10060-2012. It is established that fiberglass reinforcement has a smaller amount of adhesion strength compared to steel; with increasing strength of concrete, the value of adhesion strength increases, after cycles of freezing and thawing, its fall slightly, but the amount of deformation increases.

The use of masonry on glued polyurethane foam joints can significantly increase labor productivity in the construction of stone buildings. One of the factors restraining the introduction of polyurethane foam adhesive into the practice of construction of stone buildings is insufficient knowledge of the influence of temperature effects on the adhesion of adhesive-foam to masonry products. In order to obtain data on the adhesion strength of polyurethane joints with masonry products under temperature influences, 28 prototypes of masonry were tested, aged in laboratory conditions and also subjected to heating to 100ºC and 200ºC. Tests of masonry samples were carried out in accordance with STB EN 1052-5. Based on the experimental studies carried out and new data on the influence of temperature effects on the adhesion strength of polyurethane joints with masonry products were obtained.

The creation of energy-saving turbogenerators is an essential component of the development of small energy systems. The gradual growth of interest in distributed electricity generation necessitates the constant improvement of these units. Moreover, they implement a more environmentally friendly generation method than when using microturbine units that use fuel to carry out the work process. Nowadays, turbogenerators are created based on different types of expansion machines, which have their advantages and disadvantages, given in this article. Compared to competitors, vortex expansion machines have good prospects and the necessary potential to expand their research and produce turbogenerators. An experimental vortex expansion machine with a peripheral-lateral channel and ability to change the geometric parameters of its flowing part was created to meet these needs. Experimental studies of the machine were performed on a special stand with air as a working fluid. As a result of the tests, the data were successfully obtained and processed. They are presented in the form of tables and graphical dependencies. The nature of the influence of thermodynamic parameters and geometric parameters of the flow part on the efficiency of the vortex expansion machine and turbogenerator based on it to further improve and create new turbogenerators is clarified.

The effect of pretreatment technologies of carbon fibers by different electromagnetic methods on their mechanical characteristics has been examined. The methods of cold plasma and ultraviolet radiation were used. Such a treatment improves adhesion strength of a metal coating with fibers for production of carbon-filled plastics with high interfacial shear durability. By experiments it has been found out that the plasma treatment method is the most effective. The study and experiment results are presented.

The paper aims to determine, through experiments, the necessary force for detaching the deposited layer (SD) from the support layer (SB). The thermal sprayed coating was formed by successive deposition of two sub-layers, one for anchorage and the second for corrosion resistance. Shear adhesion strength tests were performed on a specialized stand, while force (Fad) and displacement (x) values were recorded with a data acquisition system. The variation curves, Fad = f (x), outline the evolution of the detachment process of the sprayed layer and the two main components of the deformation process: slip and breakage.

The paper presents the results of series of experimental studies on effects of the type and replacement ratio of fly ash to portland cement on durability of concrete. Specimens made from 28 mixes of fly ash concrete with water binder ratio of 38% to 60% and with replacement ratio of fly ash of 25% to 70% and 5 mixes of portland cement concrete with water cement ratio of 38% to 75% were tested for compressive strengths, drying shrinkage, carbonation and resistance to freezing and thawing. As a results, drying shringkage decreased with fly ash addition regardless of type and replacement ratio of fly ash. Carbonation increased with fly ash replacement ratio, and type 1 fly ash showed higher carbonation. Type 1 and tpye 2 fly ashes showed practically no change in durability factor after 300 cycles of freezing and thawing up to 55% replacement, while type 4 fly ash showed rapid reduction in durability factor up to 40% replacement ratio.

This paper takes the preservation works on the archaeological sites of Gaochang Ruins, Xinjiang, as background. Based on the soil characteristics analysis on the archaeological sites, experimental studies were conducted on the consolidation effect of the BS-10 consolidation material on the archaeological sites of adobe and rammed earth. The results showed the following:, after consolidation, the wind erosion resistance of the soil on the archaeological sites was substantially increased, and the wind erosion modulus was reduced by 5~8 times; the soil exhibited fine grid structure and significantly reduced degree of permeability, while still maintaining the moisture exchange between inside and outside the soil; there is excellent ageing resistance; the resistance to freezing and thawing was closely related to the soil water content and had little influence in arid regions; the water resistance was improved and could satisfy the requirements for consolidating the sites in arid regions; the unconfined compressive strength was improved moderately, which was the key direction of improvement in the future, and the consolidated soil did not form duricrust on the surface and had good bonding strength with the internal parts. The BS-10 material can meet the consolidation requirements for the earthen archaeological sites in arid regions of northwest China.
