In the last decade, the applications of nano- and micro-technology are widely used in many fields. In the modern mobile devices, such as digital cameras, there is an increased demand to achieve fast and precise positioning for some parts such as the recording sensor. Therefore, a smart material (piezoelectric) is used to achieve this requirement. This article discusses the feed-forward control for a piezoelectric actuator using differential flatness approach. The differential flatness approach is used to calculate the required voltage to control the piezoelectric actuator movement. The control voltage will be applied to the real actuator. The simulation and experimental results are compared for the actuator. The aim of this article is to verify the feed-forward control for second eigenfrequency using the differential flatness approach for the piezoelectric actuator.

This chapter explores some of the technological elements that will greatly enhance user interaction with personal photos on mobile devices in the near future. It reviews major technological innovations that have taken place in recent years which are contributing to re-shaping people’s personal photo management behavior and thus their needs, and presents an overview of the major design issues in supporting these for mobile access. It then introduces the currently very active research area of content-based image analysis and context-awareness. These technologies are becoming an important factor in improving mobile interaction by assisting automatic annotation and organization of photos, thus reducing the chore of manual input on mobile devices. Considering the pace of the rapid increases in the number of digital photos stored on our digital cameras, camera phones and online photoware sites, the authors believe that the subsequent benefits from this line of research will become a crucial factor in helping to design efficient and satisfying mobile interfaces for personal photo management systems.

This paper proposes a new forensic analysis methodology that combines processes, techniques, and tools for physical and logical data acquisition from mobile devices. The proposed methodology allows an overview of the use of the In-System Programming (ISP) technique with the usage of Combination Firmware, aligned with specific collection and analysis processes. The carried out experiments show that the proposed methodology is convenient and practical and provides new possibilities for data acquisition on devices that run the Android Operating System with advanced protection mechanisms. The methodology is also feasible in devices compatible with the usage of Joint Test Action Group (JTAG) techniques and which use Embedded Multimedia Card (eMMC) or Embedded Multi-Chip Package (eMCP) as main memory. The techniques included in the methodology are effective on encrypted devices, in which the JTAG and Chip-Off techniques prove to be ineffective, especially on those that have an unauthorized access protection mechanism enabled, such as lock screen password, blocked bootloader, and Factory Reset Protection (FRP) active. Studies also demonstrate that data preservation and integrity are maintained, which is critical to a digital forensic process.

This paper focuses on Mobile Augmented Reality (MAR) for architectural heritage restoration as an alternative technique to visually restore the ruined rear house of Rumah Datuk Setia, Kuala Kangsar, Perak. The research consists of the development of Virtual Heritage (VH) based on the architectural heritage information of the ruined rear house, such as spatial organization, construction, ornamentation, materials; as well as “Augmented Reality” (AR) for architecturalheritage restoration via mobile devices, such as smartphone and tablet. The objective is to develop Mobile Augmented Reality Restoration (MARR) of Rumah Datuk Setia, as a showcase of architectural conservation technique, for future restoration. The study reveals the process by integrating layers of architectural heritage information – VH, MAR and other enabling technologiesas primary mediums for architectural heritage restoration. The research manifestation introduces a new technique of architectural heritage building restoration through MARR. It highlights necessary elements needed to be considered, and challenges, in developing the MARR, which can be applied for future architectural restorations.
