In 1967, Gheorghe S. Nadiu publishes in “Mathematical studies and researches”, the article “On a method for the construction of Three - valued Łukasiewicz algebras” (Romania), cited in the book “Cylindric Algebras” by P. Monk, L. Henkin, A. Tarski. This article attracted the attention of Grigore C. Moisil, who offers him a scholarship, taking him out of production to make his doctorate at the Mathematic Institute of the Romanian Academy. He publishes more than 50 scientific papers in Theory of Algorithms, Logics of mathematics and Theory of Categories fields.

“Gheorghe S. Nadiu, by introducing the notion of quantified filter in a boolean monadic algebra, showed how one can obtain a trivalent Łukasiewicz algebra; also, he obtained an algebraic characterization of a completitude theorem from the intuitionist logic of Kripke.” (G. St. Andonie, Science History in Romania, Academic Publishing House, SRR, 1981).

Roberto Massimo Lawley (1818–1881) was a non-academic naturalist who made a major contribution to the Tuscan scientific community of his time. He was involved in the foundation of two societies (Società Italiana di Malacologia, 1874–1899; Società Toscana di Scienze Naturali, 1874–today) and a publishing house (Biblioteca Malacologica Italiana). He first devoted himself to malacology, but Neogene fossil fishes became his main interest. Over the years, he gathered a huge private collection of fossils and produced 18 scientific papers, dealing mainly with fossil sharks. Subsequent revisers criticized his approach to fossil taxa: their observations were generally sound, but they failed to fully recognize Lawley's scientific merits. His scientific papers, new taxa established by him and eponymys are given in the Appendix.

The monograph presents an overview of the forest-steppe vegetation of the West Siberian Plain and the Altai-Sayan mountain region. The questions of bioclimatic zonation of the Altai-Sayan mountain region are discussed. The biodiversity of foreststeppe is characterized, the floristic classification is performed, the scheme of eco-phytocoenotic classification is given, the basic types of plant communities are described in comparative terms. The diversity of forest-steppe landscapes is revealed, the structure of their vegetation is analyzed. The phytogeographical division of forest-steppe is worked out.

In this paper, we study the dissipative structure of first-order linear symmetric hyperbolic system with general relaxation and provide the algebraic characterization for the uniform dissipativity up to order 1. Our result extends the classical Shizuta–Kawashima condition for the case of symmetric relaxation, with a full generality and optimality.

In this paper an algebraic characterization of a class of Petri nets is given. The nets are characterized by a kind of algebras, which can be considered as a generalization of the concept of the case graph of a (marked) Petri net.
