Abstract Cross-sectional jaw images in the buccolingual direction obtained by conventional or computerized tomography are used in the image diagnosis of dental implant treatment. This study was performed to clarify the subjective image quality of the mandibular depiction by shifting the angles of the tomographic objective plane. A panoramic machine with a linear tomographic function was used to obtain cross-sectional tomographic images on bilateral first molar regions of 10 dried human mandibles. The angles of tomographic objective planes were shifted horizontally within a range of ±20° at intervals of 5° from the tomographic objective plane, which was automatically determined. The image qualities of 4 anatomical structures—alveolar crest, buccal and lingual cortical bone, and mandibular canal—were subjectively scored on a 5-point scale method. As a result, the permitted tomographic objective angles were from −1.7° to 2.5°, a range of 4.2° for all 4 anatomical structures. When this result was compared with a previous geometric result, the permitted range of the angles was quite narrow. The tomographic objective angles should be manually set in accordance with an optimal tomographic plane for individual patients by using the positioning technique in linear tomography.

The aim of this study was to understand the role of school satisfaction on life satisfaction, according to gender, age, body mass index (BMI), and physical activity (PA) level. This was a cross-sectional descriptive study, carried out on 2823 adolescents (1396 boys and 1427 girls), aged between 12 and 16. A specific questionnaire to measure life satisfaction (Brief Multidimensional Student Life Satisfaction Scale (BMSLSS)), a questionnaire to measure satisfaction with school (“Life circumstances of Young people: School”), and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) were used to analyze PA practice. Gender, age, and BMI were used as control variables. In general, the main results showed that school satisfaction had a clear role in life satisfaction. Similarly, the findings allowed us to conclude that the role of school satisfaction on life satisfaction was more evident in male school children, those who were older, or those who have a higher BMI. The regular practice of PA enhanced school satisfaction and its role on life satisfaction. Therefore, it is very important to assess the importance of school satisfaction as a determinant of quality of life and the adoption of healthy habits, recognizing the fundamental role of teachers in this regard.

Abstract From the literature and experience, we know that the quality of patient information material (PIM) has a direct impact on its utilization and therefore also on the acceptance and success of an intervention. In this brief introduction session (10 minutes), the innovative “integrated, cross-sectional psycho-oncology” (isPO) programme and the context of its implementation will be sketched. In the programmés development phase, isPO specific-PIM was developed and utilized in its early implementation phase. This will be presented to the audience. Next, an overview regarding the general PIM quality criteria: correctness of content, legibility, comprehensibility and usability in detail will be given. Finally, common guidelines, checklists and quality assessment instruments will be presented, and the role of the target group (participation degree) in the development or examination process will be critically worked out.

Introduction: The development of toddlers is noteworthy considering the population size is large enough. Early detection is an important development with KPSP carried out in an effort to facilitate early detection of developmental disorders that can be given early intervention and referral early in children, in the end the quality of a child's development may be optimal. Trained cadres have the authority to monitor the development of children with KPSP Method: cross sectional analytic approach. Population health cadres in the district Lembeyan with Random sampling techniques with independent variable knowledge and skills of cadres, the role of cadres in the implementation of early detection of early childhood development using KPSP as the dependent variable. Results: Correlation between knowledge and the role of cadres in the implementation of early detection of toddlers development using KPSP analyzed using Spearman Rank test with the results of 0565, while the role and the skills to 0.485 correlation value. Conclusion: there is a relationship of knowledge to the role of cadres and there is a relationship between skill to the role of cadres in the implementation of early detection of toddler development using KPSP. It is hoped the clinic routinely provide refresher material on monitoring developments and increasing the number of screening kit (infrastructure for monitoring developments).

Introduction: The Ministry of Health with the aim of improving the service provided by the Unified Health System has been creating work tools to identify which points need to receive more attention to be optimized. Objective: Description of the role of municipal management, infrastructure assessment and perception of users of primary care. Method: Cross-sectional and descriptive study, conducted with Basic Units of Piauí municipality in 2015. The data were represented by tables. Results: 90% of the units reported receiving support for the planning and organization of the work process. Only 14, 81% of the units have equipment and supplies for proper operation. Users recommend the service in 92,62% of the cases. Conclusion: despite the precarious structure of the basic units of the county, the population still recognizes them as the best care.

Objective The purpose of this study was to determine how burden and quality of life predict anxiety and depressive symptoms among caregivers of hemodialysis patients. Social support was included in the model as a proposed moderator in the above relationships. Methods This cross-sectional study involved 340 caregivers of chronic kidney patients undergoing hemodialysis. The setting was in Terengganu, Malaysia. The caregivers completed the measures of caregiving burden, quality of life, social support, and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Results About 28.8% and 52.4% of caregivers showed clinically moderate levels of anxiety and depressive symptoms, respectively. Furthermore, 35.9% and 3.8% of them showed clinically high levels of anxiety and depressive symptoms, respectively. Analyses showed that general quality of life was a significant predictor of both anxiety and depressive symptoms. Burden and psychological domains of quality of life significantly predicted anxiety. In addition, a lack of social support was a determinant of depressive symptoms. Evidence suggested that social support moderated the burden–anxiety relationship. Specifically, caregivers with low levels of social support showed more elevated levels of anxiety symptoms when their burden was higher. Conclusion There is an urgent need for early detection to initiate prompt treatment in this population. The study provides some important insights into offering comprehensive intervention to help caregivers cope more effectively through the provision of sufficient social support to buffer the effects of caregiving burden and improve mental health.

Objectives: A cross-sectional observational study was designed to evaluate patient satisfaction after stapedotomy. Methods: Two validated questionnaires, the Psychosocial Impact of Assistive Devices Scale (PIADS) and the Hearing Handicap Inventory (HHI), were used to assess patients for whom audiometric data were available. Results: The response rate was 79%. The PIADS score showed that 96% of patients reported an improvement in quality of life. The HHI score, however, showed that 32% of patients still experienced a marked degree of handicap after surgery. The HHI scores correlated positively with postoperative audiometric data, and the PIADS scores correlated positively with the degree of change in audiometric data. Conclusions: The results of this study support the role of small fenestra stapedotomy as a primary treatment for otosclerosis. The study also identifies a certain subpopulation of patients with residual handicap who may require further aural rehabilitation.

The primary objective of this narrative review was to evaluate the current literature and to provide further insight into the role of concurrent training on various components of physical health or performance. Literature was obtained by electronic searches of databases using specific keywords. Combined effect of training sessions proved to be as beneficial as drug interactions. Results from cross-sectional, longitudinal, and intervention studies are reviewed and discussed with main focus on physical parameters, such as body composition, physiological parameters, molecular adaptation, athlete’s perspective, order of execution, interference phenomena and recovery. In conclusion, concurrent resistance and endurance training is an effective method for enhancing overall fitness as well as improving quality of life.
