The interaction of distributed robotics and wireless sensor networks has led to the creation of mobile sensor networks. There has been an increasing interest in building mobile sensor networks and they are the favored class of WSNs in which mobility plays a key role in the execution of an application. More and more researches focus on development of mobile wireless sensor networks (MWSNs) due to its favorable advantages and applications. In WSNs robotics can play a crucial role, and integrating static nodes with mobile robots enhances the capabilities of both types of devices and enables new applications. In this paper we present an overview on mobile sensor networks in robotics and vice versa and robotic sensor network applications.

The most important element of the production process is the optimization of the conducted operations. It is particularly important for the lean production process. In the paper is presented the analysis of the optimization approach using the CAE systems, the multi-agents systems (MAS) and the distributed robotics (DR) systems. Using the CAE techniques it is possible to elaborate the virtual environment in which the manufacturing cell is designed. The interaction between the virtual model and the process rule base allow improving the design of the existing standard machining technology. The MAS approach let to create the structure of the manufacturing process, taking into account both the machining stands and transport units according to the elaborate technological process. Finally the utilization of the DR approach for the optimization of transport operations including the heuristic algorithms. Moreover in the paper are presented the results of the investigations of analyzed problem on the base of complex production line for the cylindrical elements. The simulations and other analysis have been conducted in advanced computer systems. Also the basic relation between mentioned systems are discussed.

Distributed robotics takes many forms, for instance, multirobots, modular robots, and self-reconfigurable robots. The understanding and development of such advanced robotic systems demand extensive knowledge in engineering and computer science. In this paper, we describe the concept of a distributed educational system as a valuable tool for introducing students to interactive parallel and distributed processing programming as the foundation for distributed robotics and human-robot interaction development. This is done by providing an educational tool that enables problem representation to be changed, related to multirobot control and human-robot interaction control from virtual to physical representation. The proposed system is valuable for bringing a vast number of issues into education – such as parallel programming, distribution, communication protocols, master dependency, connectivity, topology, island modeling software behavioral models, adaptive interactivity, feedback, and user interaction. We show how the proposed system can be considered a tool for easy, fast, flexible hands-on exploration of these distributed robotic issues. Through examples, we show how to implement interactive parallel and distributed processing in robotics with different software models such as openloop, randomness-based, rule-based, user-interactionbased, AI- and ALife-based, and morphology-based control.

The paper presents the novel project that has been proposed and realized together with the implementation of the process of heating thermosetting components based on advanced industrial equipment and software tools. In the fundamental task of optimization, the phenomenon of process synchronization based on a centralized algorithm adapted to the specific requirements of production was taken into account. The proposed research station was optimized and located in the laboratory of the Interdisciplinary Computer Modelling of the University of Rzeszow, that specializes in raising the efficiency of industrial processes
