ABSTRACTThe structure and superconducting properties of rapidly quenched Zr—Ni and Zr—V alloys have been studied by XRD,EXAFS spectroscopy,TEM,electron diffraction,ED, electrical resistivity and ac susceptibility measurements. Amorphous Zr66Ni34 ribbons quenched with different cooling rates were also examined by flux pinning measurements. Characteristic differences are observed in the flux pinning mechanisms of microcrystalline and amorphous samples. The temperature dependence of upper critical fields have been measured down to 0.4 K and the results are analyzed in terms of WHH theory.

We report here normal and superconducting properties of ABa 2 Cu 3 O 7−δ (with A=Y, Gd, Dy, and Er) and of Fe doped YBa2Cu3O7−δ . Results from X-ray powder diffraction, electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, ESR, and specific heat measurements are presented, leading to a characterization of the magnetic properties of these materials. The effect of structural modifications of the lattice on the superconducting properties and the relative insensitivity of Tc to the presence of magnetic moments is discussed.

ABSTRACTSuperconducting thin films of DyBa2Cu3O7-δ_ are deposited on MgO(100) substrates by an ozone-assisted coevaporation technique. At a relatively low substrate temperature (610°C) and with a fixed ozone flux we prepare highly c-axis oriented films with very good superconducting properties. The critical temperatures of the films are commonly above 85 K with critical currents above 10 5 A/cm2. We report on composition, microstructure, electrical resistivity and critical current of two good films.
