AbstractLa3+ −Al3+ and Ce3+ −A13+ pillar precursors were synthesized and intercalated in swelling montmorillonite type clays. 27Al-NMR and 139La-NMR spectra do not confirm chemical interaction between Al and La ions in solution, but after pillaring and calcination (400°C) d-spacings in the range 18.5 Å−20.5 Å indicate indeed a strong interaction between the Al-La species. Also, Ce4+ (Sulfate) cations do interact with Al3+ in the pillar-precursor-solution, into the pH interval 2.78≤p.H ≤3.99.

A novel CIL of N-butyl-N-methyl imidazolium-D-(-)-tartrate has been designed and synthesized by neutralization reaction. Its structure was characterized by 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectra, the optical rotation was characterized by polarimeter with the value of-15.0º, and the purity was characterized by ion chromatography with the value of 98.4%.

An efficient method is described for the synthesis of 2-methoxy-thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin- 4(3H)-one (5) via Gewald reaction, a tandem aza-Wittig reaction and cyclization process. The key step is an aza-Wittig reaction between iminophosphorane (2), 4-chlorophenyl isocyanine and nucleophilic reagent CH3OH. Its structures were determined by means of MS, IR and 1H NMR spectra.

A novel binuclear ruthenium vinyl complexes with dithienylethene unit II [RuCl (CO)(PMe3)3]2(μ-CH=CH-DTE-CH=CH) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and NMR spectra. Meanwhile, the crystal of II was obtained and determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction.

Abstract New zinc(II)-complexes with S-alkyl derivatives of thiosalicylic acid (alkyl = benzyl-(L1), methyl-(L2), ethyl-(L3), propyl-(L4), butyl-(L5)) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental microanalysis, IR spectroscopy, and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The S-alkyl derivatives of thiosalicylic acid were prepared by alkylation of thiosalicylic acid by adding alkyl halides to an alkaline water-ethanol solution, while the corresponding zinc(II)-complexes were obtained via the direct reaction of ZnCl2 with S-alkyl derivatives of thiosalicylic acid in water. Based on the microanalysis results and the IR and NMR spectra of the S-alkyl derivatives of thiosalicylic acid and the corresponding zinc(II)-complexes, we concluded that the ligands are bidentately coordinated to the zinc(II)-ion.
