ABSTRACTThe effect of magnetic coupling in Multi-layer system is discussed by an analytic approach and computer simulation. The dependence of the enhancement of external field on the magnetic properties of the relevant materials is studied. Comparison between the theoretical estimate, simulation result and experimental observations are presented.

Static magnetic properties, ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) and glancing angle X-ray diffraction spectra (GAXRD) of CoFeZr (tm)/Si (tSi) in multilayer nanosystems were investigated for two groups of the samples characterized by tm = 2 3 nm, tSi = 0.5 5 nm and by tm = 7 12 nm, tSi = 5 13 nm. A computer simulation of GAXRD spectra of multilayer interference structures has been performed taking into account the possibility of silicides formation at metal-Si interfaces. Matter of discussion is the layer and interlayer thickness below which a resonance response corresponds to that of an effective medium rather than of an individual magnetic layer.

AbstractThe discovery of two-dimensional (2D) magnetism combined with van der Waals (vdW) heterostructure engineering offers unprecedented opportunities for creating artificial magnetic structures with non-trivial magnetic textures. Further progress hinges on deep understanding of electronic and magnetic properties of 2D magnets at the atomic scale. Although local electronic properties can be probed by scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS), its application to investigate 2D magnetic insulators remains elusive due to absence of a conducting path and their extreme air sensitivity. Here we demonstrate that few-layer CrI3 (FL-CrI3) covered by graphene can be characterized electronically and magnetically via STM by exploiting the transparency of graphene to tunneling electrons. STS reveals electronic structures of FL-CrI3 including flat bands responsible for its magnetic state. AFM-to-FM transition of FL-CrI3 can be visualized through the magnetic field dependent moiré contrast in the dI/dV maps due to a change of the electronic hybridization between graphene and spin-polarised CrI3 bands with different interlayer magnetic coupling. Our findings provide a general route to probe atomic-scale electronic and magnetic properties of 2D magnetic insulators for future spintronics and quantum technology applications.

Results of magnetization and magnetic susceptibility measurements on undoped and Co-doped FeSi2.5 single crystals are presented. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility of the Co-doped sample in the range of 5–300 K can be explained by temperature-dependent contributions due to paramagnetic centers and the carriers excited thermally in the extrinsic conductivity region. The values of the paramagnetic Curie temperature and activation energy of the donor levels were estimated. It is also shown that the magnetic susceptibility of Co-doped samples cooled in zero external field and in a field are different. This resembles the properties of spin-glasses and indicates the presence of coupling between magnetic centers.

The microstructures and properties of (Tb,Sm)CoSi/Cr series films have been investigated. All the samples were sputtered and annealed at 500 °C for 25 min in pure N2 atmosphere, and their microstructures and properties were examined. The effect on the magnetic properties of partial Sm substituted by Tb is discussed. The lattice matching media were examined. And the mechanisms of interactions among the grains and between the magnetic layers have been analyzed by comparing multi magnetic layer with the mono magnetic layer.
