Magnetic Properties of Pb2Sr2Eu1-xCaxCu308+z Superconductors

AbstractX-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements using a SQUID magnetometer have been performed on the title compounds for 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.9. For 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5, we have single phase materials. However, a small percentage of an impurity phase is noticed in the x = 0.7 sample, and the x = 0.9 sample is clearly not a single phase material. The transition temperature, the diamagnetic-shielding effect, and the Meissner-effect increase as x becomes larger. We have obtained, approximately, Hc1 ≤ 700 oe and Hc2 ≥ 800 k0e.

Rare-earth-doped compounds (Sr1.85Ln0.15)FeMoO6(Ln=Sr, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm and Eu) have been prepared by solid-state reaction. Crystal structure and magnetic properties were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. All the samples are single phase and belong to the I4/m space group. Due to the competing contributions of electron doping and steric effects, the unit-cell volume of the doped compounds changes slightly and does not vary systematically with the ionic radius of the rare-earth ions. The temperature dependence of the magnetization of (Sr1.85Ln0.15)FeMoO6indicates that the Curie temperature of the doped compounds has increased upon doping, except for the Eu-doped compound.

The ( Ru 1-x Nb x) Sr 2( Eu 1.5 Ce 0.5) Cu 2 O z(0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) compounds have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction, electric transport, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. We find that there is no significant change in the superconducting transition temperature when Nb is substituted for Ru up to x = 0.5. Unlike RuSr 2( Eu 1.5 Ce 0.5) Cu 2 O z, bulk Meissner effect is observed in the field-cooled magnetization measurements of the Nb doped samples. The experimental results are discussed in conjunction with a reduction of the internal field caused by the Nb substitution for Ru, based on the spontaneous vortex phase interpretation.

In this research, influence of adding Li2CO3 (at 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%) on electrical and magnetic properties of [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]Fe2O4 (with 60% Ni and 40% Mg) ferrite has been studied. The samples are prepared by solid state reaction method and sintered at 1300∘C for 6[Formula: see text]h. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns show the samples belong to single-phase cubic structure without any impurity phase. The magnetic properties (saturation magnetization and coercivity) of the samples have been investigated by VSM and found that the higher concentration of Li2CO3 reduces the hysteresis loss. DC resistivity increases with Li2CO3 contents whereas it decreases initially and then becomes constant at lower value with temperature which indicates that the studied samples are semiconductor. The dielectric dispersion occurs at a low-frequency regime and the loss peaks are formed in a higher frequency regime, which are due to the presence of resonance between applied frequency and hopping frequency of charge carriers. Notably, the loss peaks are shifted to the lower frequency with Li2CO3 additions.

The crystallization and optimization of magnetic properties effects in FeXSiB (X=Cu, V, Co, Zr, Nb) amorphous alloys were studied by applying X-ray diffraction methods, high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), resistometric and magnetic measurements. The temperatures of the first and the second stage of crystallization, the 1h optimization annealing temperature and the Curie temperature were determined for different amorphous alloys. Activation energies of crystallization process were obtained by applying the Kissinger method. The influence of alloy additions on optimization effect and crystallization processes was carefully examined.

The influences of the substitution of Ni with Mg on crystallographic and magnetic properties of the intermetallic alloys LaNi5-xMgx (x ≤ 0.4) were investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns showed that all samples were of single phase, and the lattice parameters, a and c, decreased slightly upon chemical doping. LaNi5 is well known as an exchange-enhanced Pauli paramagnet. Interestingly, in LaNi5-xMgx, the ferromagnetic order existed even with a small amount of dopants; the Curie temperature reached the value of room temperature for x = 0.2, and enhanced with increasing x.

The influences of Gd concentration on martensitic transformation and magnetic properties of NiMnIn alloys were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) , vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and etc. It is Observed through the experiment: the addition of Gd enhances martensite transition temperature;X-ray diffraction analysis of experimental alloys is revealed that to the mixture is martensite and austenite at room temperature; content of Gd is not proportional to the improvement of magnetic property.

In In this study to understand the substitutional effect of Co-Zn on structural and magnetic properties of the BaFe12-2xCoxZnxO19 M-type hexagonal ferrites with concentration (x= 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0) were synthesized by the ceramic method. The results of x-ray diffraction show polycrystalline with single phase. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs shows the hexagonal ferrites that are composed of small particles with large porosity, roughly of spherical shapes. The substitution of Fe3+ ion by Co2+ and Zn2+ has changed magnetic properties of hexagonal ferrites.

Bimetallic nanomaterials in the form of thin film constituted by magnetic and noble elements show promising properties in different application fields such as catalysts and magnetic driven applications. In order to tailor the chemical and physical properties of these alloys to meet the applications requirements, it is of great importance scientific interest to study the interplay between properties and morphology, surface properties, microstructure, spatial confinement and magnetic features. In this manuscript, FePd thin films are prepared by electrodeposition which is a versatile and widely used technique. Compositional, morphological, surface and magnetic properties are described as a function of deposition time (i.e., film thickness). Chemical etching in hydrochloric acid was used to enhance the surface roughness and help decoupling crystalline grains with direct consequences on to the magnetic properties. X-ray diffraction, SEM/AFM images, contact angle and magnetic measurements have been carried out with the aim of providing a comprehensive characterisation of the fundamental properties of these bimetallic thin films.

The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect of the polycrystalline Gd 3 Ni 8 Al intermetallic compound are studied in this paper. Powder X-ray diffraction shows that the alloy is CeNi 3-type single-phase structure. The magnetic measurements indicate that the compound is ferromagnetic and undergoes a second-order phase transition at 62 K. The maximum of magnetic entropy change reaches 11 J/kg K for the field change from 0 to 50 kOe and the refrigerant capacity of the titled compound is found to be 4.8×102 J/kg.

Magnetite (Fe3O4) nanobranches were synthesized using an improved solvothermal technique in mixed ethanol and water solvent. Structural and magnetic properties were systematically investigated. X-ray diffraction results showed that the sample was single-phase spinel structure. The results of scanning electronic microscopy exhibited that the grains were regular like-branch with sizes from 3 to 6 μm in length and in diameter between 50 and 200 nm. The composition determined by energy dispersive spectroscopy was very close to the stoichiometry of Fe3O4. The saturation magnetizations (Ms) at 10 and 300 K of the synthesized Fe3O4nanobranches were much lower than the theoretical values. On one hand, it could be explained by obstructive magnetizing along their non-easy magnetic axes by the shape anisotropy of Fe3O4nanobranches, on the other hand, lesserMscan also be understood by the existence of antisite defects.
