Mesocyclops ogunnus is a copepod originally recorded in Africa and Asia, being considered an invader species in reservoirs in the Americas. The present work records its occurrence in northeastern Brazil for the first time. This species was collected in the Três Lagoas region in the city of João Pessoa, State of Paraíba, Brazil, which increases its geographical distribution beyond the central-western, southeastern and southern regions of the country.

INTRODUCTION: This paper reports, for the first time, the presence of the Eratyrus mucronatus species in the State of Rondonia, Brazil. METHODS: These specimens were caught by chance in the forest and later they were collected using luminous traps. RESULTS: After finding these specimens, the number of the Triatominae genera in Rondonia rose to four, while its species rose to seven. CONCLUSIONS: Complimentary studies will be conducted in order to allow for clearer understanding the ecology of this arthropod, its possible role in transmitting Chagas' disease and its current geographical distribution.

Order Ceratiomyxales, which belongs to subclass Ceratiomyxomycetidae, includes the exospore bearing Myxomycetes, solely comprising family Ceratiomyxaceae and genus Ceratiomyxa, with four species. Based on the literature, on herbarium collections, and on recent surveys carried out by the authors in different states and ecosystems, it was possible to determine the occurrence and distribution of C. fruticulosa (cosmopolitan),C. morchella and C. sphaerosperma (predominantly tropical or subtropical) in northeastern Brazil. Species descriptions and illustrations are presented, as well as a map of their geographical distribution in eight of the nine states of Northeast Brazil. This order is being recorded for the first time for the state of Sergipe. Ceratiomyxa morchella and C. sphaerosperma are being cited for the first time for the state of Paraíba.

Abstract Sampling of fouling organisms carried out during January 2019 at Al-Max (west of the city of Alexandria) on the Mediterranean coast of Egypt revealed the presence of larval populations belonging to the genus Telmatogeton (Chironomidae), which is reported for the first time from the Mediterranean coast of Egypt. The larvae were found among clumps of fine filamentous green algae (Enteromorpha compressa). A description of the larva with taxonomic remarks and comments on its ecology and geographical distribution are given.

Abstract: This work presents the taxonomic study of the native species of Bombacoideae Burnett (Malvaceae) in the state of Paraíba, Northeastern Brazil. The taxonomic treatment included keys for identifying genera and species, morphological descriptions, diagnostic illustrations, comments on taxonomic affinities, and additional information on geographical distribution, habitat, and flowering and fruiting of the species. Three genera and six species were recorded: Ceiba Mill., represented by C. glaziovii (Kuntze) K. Schum., is a new record for the Atlantic Forest; Eriotheca Schott & Endl., represented by E. gracilipes (K. Schum.) A. Robyns and E. macrophylla (K. Schum.) A. Robyns, is a new record for Paraíba; and Pseudobombax Dugand, which is represented by P. marginatum (A.St.-Hil., Juss. & Cambess.) A. Robyns, P. parvifolium Carv.-Sobr. & L.P. Queiroz and P. simplicifolium A. Robyns Robyns - the last one registered for the first time in Paraíba in this study.

The digenetic trematode Psilochasmus oxyurus (Creplin, 1835) Lühe, 1909, although with a large geographical distribution, is referred in geese (Anser anser Linnaeus, 1758) for the first time in South America, on the basis of specimens parasitizing Brazilian domestic geese, with a prevalence of 20%. Brief morphometric data on the parasites are included. Clinical signs, gross and microscopic lesions were not observed in the birds.

The objective of this study is to report seven decapod crustacean species for the first time from Sergipe state, northeastern Brazil. The specimens were sampled from January 2012 to June 2015, on continental shelf and estuaries. Alpheus buckupi,Synalpheus ul, Lysmata bahia, L. cf. intermedia, Paguristes tortugae, Macrocoeloma laevigatum and Pilumnoides coelhoi are reported. This study records fill gaps in the geographical distribution of these decapods that have previous records for adjacent areas.

Ophelimus near migdanorum, a foliage gall wasp-inducer of Eucalyptus, is recorded for the first time in Colombia, infesting both mature ornamental trees of Eucalyptus globulus (Labill.) and monoculture plantations in the periurban forest in the city of Bogotá. The parasitoid Closterocerus chamaeleon was also emerged from the galled foliage. The spread of this pest and its parasitoid in other Eucalyptus species planted in Colombia has not been evaluated.

Rinamba opacicollis Cameron (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was collected from Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, India for the first time from the larvae of white stem borer, Xylotrechus quadripes Chevrolat infesting arabica coffee. Its role in the biological or integrated control of X. quadripes remains to be evaluated. White stem borer could be the first host record of this parasitoid all over the world.

The purpose of the article is to present the history and the analysis of the Russian wooden sculpture “Nikola Мtsenskiy” results of the examination from Peter and Paul Cathedral in Mtsensk. For the first time, the author conducted a historical and cultural examination of this object for religious purposes. The article defines the historical and cultural context of this object existence, its veneration as a relic, the problem of comparing the “The Legend of the appearance of the miraculous icon of St. Nicholas Wonderworker in the city of Mtsensk” and the preserved sculpture. The author also examines the historical and artistic sources of origin of similar items in the culture of the medieval Moscow state. The author dates the preserved fragment of the sculpture from Mtsensk Peter and Paul Cathedral to the late 1600s.
