Perangkat keras komputer adalah bagian dari sistem komputer sebagai perangkat yang dapat diraba, dilihat secara fisik, dan bertindak untuk menjalankan instruksi dari perangkat lunak (software). Perangkat keras komputer juga disebut dengan hardware. Hardware berperan secara menyeluruh terhadap kinerja suatu sistem komputer. Prinsipnya sistem komputer selalu memiliki perangkat keras masukan (input/input device system) – perangkat keras premprosesan (processing/central processing unit) – perangkat keras luaran (output/output device system) – perangkat tambahan yang sifatnya opsional (peripheral) dan tempat penyimpanan data (storage device system/external memory).

Perkembangan IT di dunia sangat pesat, mulai dari perkembangan sofware hingga hardware. Teknologi sekarang telah mendominasi sebagian besar di permukaan bumi ini. Karena semakin cepatnya perkembangan Teknologi, kita sebagai pengguna bisa ketinggalan informasi mengenai teknologi baru apabila kita tidak up to date dalam pengetahuan teknologi ini. Hal itu dapat membuat kita mudah tergiur dan tertipu dengan berbagai iklan teknologi tanpa memikirkan sisi negatifnya. Sebagai pengguna dari komputer, kita sebaiknya tahu seputar mengenai komponen-komponen komputer. Komputer adalah serangkaian mesin elektronik yang terdiri dari jutaan komponen yang dapat saling bekerja sama, serta membentuk sebuah sistem kerja yang rapi dan teliti. Sistem ini kemudian digunakan untuk dapat melaksanakan pekerjaan secara otomatis, berdasarkan instruksi (program) yang diberikan kepadanya. Istilah Hardware komputer atau perangkat keras komputer, merupakan benda yang secara fisik dapat dipegang, dipindahkan dan dilihat. Central Processing System/ Central Processing Unit (CPU) adalah salah satu jenis perangkat keras yang berfungsi sebagai tempat untuk pengolahan data atau juga dapat dikatakan sebagai otak dari segala aktivitas pengolahan seperti penghitungan, pengurutan, pencarian, penulisan, pembacaan dan sebagainya.

Komputer adalah serangkaian mesin elektronik yang terdiri dari jutaan komponen yang dapat saling bekerja sama, serta membentuk sebuah sistem kerja yang rapi dan teliti. Sistem ini kemudian digunakan untuk dapat melaksanakan pekerjaan secara otomatis, berdasarkan instruksi (program) yang diberikan kepadanya. Istilah Hardware computer atau perangkat keras komputer, merupakan benda yang secara fisik dapat dipegang, dipindahkan dan dilihat. The paper presents and designs a new-style gas monitor terminal in coal mine based on ARM chip called S3C2410A, which means the hardware and driver's designation of system uses S3C2410A as its central processing unit and also expounds the detail of software and hardware design. The system communicates with metrical instrument by the RS485 BUS. It can monitor the mine gas in network. It has good man-machine interaction contact surface and can be inserted into intelligence instrument as a general module.

La capacidad de estimar funciones no lineales hace que las redes neuronales sean una de las herramientas más usadas para aplicar fusión sensorial, permitiendo combinar la salida de diferentes sensores para obtener información de la que a priori no se dispone. Por otra parte, la capacidad de procesamiento paralelo de las FPGAs (Field-Programmable Gate Array) las hace idóneas para implementar redes neuronales ubicuas, permitiendo inferir resultados más rápido que una CPU (Central Processing Unit) sin necesidad de una conexión activa a internet. De esta forma, en este artículo se propone un flujo de trabajo para diseñar, entrenar e implementar una red neuronal en una FPGA Xilinx PYNQ Z2 que use tipos de dato de punto fijo para hacer fusión sensorial. Dicho flujo de trabajo es probado mediante el desarrollo de una red neuronal que combine las salidas de una nariz artificial de 16 sensores para obtener una estimación de las concentraciones de CH4 y C2H4.

Population dynamics in the evolution, extinction, and re-evolution of various logic-function performing organisms is studied in the artificial life system, Avida. Following the work of Yedid (2009), we design an experiment involving two extinction regimes, pulse-extinction (corresponding to a random-kill event) and press-extinction (corresponding to a prolonged episode of rare resources). In addition, we study the effect of environmental topology (toroidal grid and clique graph). In the study of population dynamics, logarithmic returns are generally applied. The resulting distributions display a fat tail form of the power law: the more complex the logic function (in terms of NAND components), the broader the full width at half a maximum of the histogram. The power law exponents were in sound agreement with those of “real-life” populations and distributions. The distributions of evolutionary times, as well as post-extinction recovery periods, were very broad, and presumably had no standard deviations. Using 100 runs of 200,000 updates for each of the four cases (about 1 month of central processing unit time), we established the dynamics of the average population, with the effect of world topology.

The Relationship

A neurorobot is a model system for biological information processing with vital components and the artificial peripheral system. As a central processing unit of the neurorobot, a dissociated culture system possesses a simple and functional network comparing to a whole brain; thus, it is suitable for exploration of spatiotemporal dynamics of electrical activity of a neuronal circuit. The behavior of the neurorobot is determined by the response pattern of neuronal electrical activity evoked by a current stimulation from outer world. “Certain premise rules” should be embedded in the relationship between spatiotemporal activity of neurons and intended behavior. As a strategy for embedding premise rules, two ideas are proposed. The first is “shaping,” by which a neuronal circuit is trained to deliver a desired output. Shaping strategy presumes that meaningful behavior requires manipulation of the living neuronal network. The second strategy is “coordinating.” A living neuronal circuit is regarded as the central processing unit of the neurorobot. Instinctive behavior is provided as premise control rules, which are embedded into the relationship between the living neuronal network and robot. The direction of self-tuning process of neurons is not always suitable for desired behavior of the neurorobot, so the interface between neurons and robot should be designed so as to make the direction of self-tuning process of the neuronal network correspond with desired behavior of the robot. Details of these strategies and concrete designs of the interface between neurons and robot are be introduced and discussed in this chapter.
