Abstract High levels of uric acid (UA) in the human body usually cause diabetes, hypertension and atherosclerosis, kidney diseases, and neurological diseases. Hence, it is important to develop sensitive methods for UA determination. In this paper, nanocomposite composed of ceria nanoparticles and reduced graphene was successfully modified on the surface of glassy carbon electrode (ceria NPs-rGO/GCE) by a simple electroreduction method. The morphology, structure and property of the ceria NPs-rGO/GCE was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The electrocatalytic activity of the ceria NPs-rGO/GCE for uric acid (UA) oxidation was studied in detail. The results showed that the ceria NPs-rGO/GCE exhibited excellent selectivity and high sensitivity for UA detection. In 0.05 M H2SO4 solution, a linear range of 0.02-20 M and a low detection limit of 8.0 nM of UA were obtained on the ceria NPs-rGO/GCE. This developed method was successfully applied for the detection of UA in human serum and urine samples, and its recoveries reached 95.8%-105.0%.

Background : Aim of the study was to discover if there is the efficacy of serum uric acid in the prognostication of myocardial infarction subjects. Subjects and Methods: A total of 200 subjects were incorporated into the research. Of them, 74 patients had ST- elevated myocardial infarction, as in 26 subjects they were diagnosed with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction. Of the total of 100 subjects in the study group, there were 70 males and 30 females. A total of 100 healthy individuals as a control group were also incorporated in the study. Serum uric acid was measured on day 0, 3, 7 as well on day 30 of MI. Results: Serum uric acid was calculated on day 0, day 3, and day 7 and on day 30 of the myocardial infarction in the case study group. The mean uric acid levels on day 0 were found to be 6.32 1.45 mg/dl, mean uric acid level on day 3 was found to be 5.98 0.98 mg/dl, mean uric acid level on day 7 was found to be 5.14 2.18 mg/dl and mean uric acid level on day 30 was found to be 4.98 0.44 mg/dl. Conclusion: Serum uric acid stages are elevated in subjects of acute MI in contrast to standard well individuals. Subjects with higher Serum uric acid levels have an elevated probability of transience and it can be measured as a marker of appalling prediction.

AbstractGout is a joint disease caused by high uric acid in the blood. Patients with this problem usually experience joint pain, so alternative therapies are needed to reduce pain. Ginger compress the rapyisone of the effective alternative therapies to reducepain, by utilizing warn water and greted ginger. It is paharmacological and non-pharmacological process, to reduce side effects and it is better to use non-pharmacological methods for the best result. This paper aims to find out the implication of applying the method as the alternative way to reduce pain in patientwith gout. A case study of nursing care was chosen as the method. It applied in to two patients with gout. The result stated the therapy has effectively reduced pain in the patients. Thus, it suggested to the nurses forapplying thi therapy.Keywords :gout; pain;compress with ginger AbstrakPenyakit Asam Urat atau penyakit gouta dalah penyakit sendi yang disebabkan oleh tingginya asam urat di dalam darah. Penderita Asam Urat biasanya mengalami nyeri dipersendian, sehingga diperlukan terapi alternatif untuk menurunkan nyeri. Terapi kompres jahe merupakan salah satu terapi alternative yang efektif untuk menurunkan nyeri, dengan memanfaatkan air hangat dan parutan jahe penatalaksanaan kompres jahe yaitu farmakologis dan nonfarmakologis, untuk mengurangi efek samping lebih baik menggunakan cara nonfarmakologis. Tujuan karya tulis ilmiah ini untuk menerapkan terapi kompres jahe sebagai upaya untuk menurunkan nyeri pada pasien asamurat. Metode yang digunakan dalam Karya Tulis Ilmiah ini adalah studi kasus Asuhan Keperawatan dengan penerapan terapi kompres jahe pada dua pasien Asam Urat. Hasil penerapan Kompres Jahe terbukti dapat menurunkan nyeri pada kedu apa sien Asam Urat. Untuk itu diharapkan Perawat dapat menggunakan terapi alternative kompres jahe dalam menurunkan nyeri.Kata Kunci : Asam urat,Nyeri,kompresjahe
