Abstract N1-SPAN-C alloy 902 is an age-hardenable, nickel-iron-chromium alloy. Its outstanding characteristic is a controllable thermoelastic coefficient. Proper combination of cold work and thermal treatment can produce an essentially constant modulus of elasticity from -50 F to +150 F. The alloy is especially suitable for many types of precision equipment where elastic members are subject to temperature fluctuations. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Fe-32. Producer or source: Huntington Alloy Products Division, An INCO Company.

Abstract AISI Type 1.2 is a chromium-vanadium tool steel of modest hardenability and variable carbon content (nominally 0.50-1.10% carbon). At its lower carbon levels, it is used for tools requiring toughness and resistance to shock and vibration. At its higher carbon levels, it is recommended for resistance to abrasion, fatigue and wear. It is used for both hot-work and cold-work applications. Among its many uses are automotive gears, forgings, gun barrels, shafts, wrenches, chisels, punches, lathe spindles, axes, shear blades, dies, files, reamers and drills. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TS-416. Producer or source: Tool steel mills.

Abstract CRUCIBLE CPM 10V is a unique tool steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. It is designed with a tough, air-hardening base analysis with added high carbon and vanadium. This provides CPM 10V with a combination of exceptionally good wear resistance, toughness and strength for cold and warm-work applications. It is an excellent candidate to replace carbide and other highly wear-resistant materials in cold-work tooling applications, particularly where tool breakage or chipping is a problem or where cost effectiveness can be demonstrated. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and bend strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on wear resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-340. Producer or source: Crucible Specialty Metals Division, Colt Industries. Originally published October 1978, revised February 1987.
