The stable GI/G/s queue (ρ < 1) is sometimes studied using the “fact” that epochs just prior to an arrival when all servers are idle constitute an embedded persistent renewal process. This is true for the GI/G/1 queue, but a simple GI/G/2 example is given here with all interarrival time and service time moments finite and ρ < 1 in which, not only does the system fail to be empty ever with some positive probability, but it is never empty. Sufficient conditions are then given to rule out such examples. Implications of embedded persistent renewal processes in the GI/G/1 and GI/G/s queues are discussed. For example, functional limit theorems for time-average or cumulative processes associated with a large class of GI/G/s queues in light traffic are implied.

In order to deal with the impact on traffic flow of the rule, we compare the influence factors of traffic flow (passing, etc.) into viscous resistance of fluid mechanics, and establish a traffic model based on fluid mechanics. First, in heavy and light traffic, we respectively use this model to simulate the actual segment of the road and find that when the traffic is heavy, the rule hinder the further increase in traffic. For this reason, we make further improvements to the model to obtain a fluid traffic model based on no passing and find that the improved model makes traffic flow increase significantly. Then, the improved model is applied to the light traffic, we find there are no significant changes in traffic flow .In this regard we propose a new rule: when the traffic is light, passing is allowed, but when the traffic is heavy, passing is not allowed.

The water treatment processes in which microorganisms act are margin filtration, slow filtration and biological activated carbon (CAB) [2]. For this research, a study of permeable concrete with the addition of 2% activated carbon for light traffic paving was performed. The objective of this research is to identify the feasibility of using this concrete so that filtered water can reach at least the basic sanitation networks, with a better quality to be treated. For this, characterizations of the quality of the concrete component materials were made with a novelty, using the fine aggregate (sand). After the characterizations, the permeable concrete traces with mechanical strength of 30MPa were made. Dosing analyzes followed with molding, curing and rupture of concrete specimens. The results of the arithmetic mean of the axial compression of conventional concrete at 28 days were 34.2 MPa and the concrete with the addition of activated carbon was 32.2 MPa, reaching the expectations of strength. Complementary experiments were performed for the quality of the water filtered by the CP's, the pH, the alkalinity and the chlorine content were analyzed. The pH of the conventional concrete found was 7.6 and the concrete with the addition of activated carbon was between 7.2 and 6.8, which may be the best result found

This study was aimed at describing the profile of Fijai, a student of program kesetaraan paket A Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar of Bengkulu municipality(case study on Fijai who is also a clown). This study used qualitative method. Data collection was done by interview , documentation, and observation. The subjects of this study included Fijai's parents and Fijai's tutor at program kesetaraan paket A Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar of Bengkulu municipality. Data validity was examined using triangulation of subject, technique and time. Data were analyzed through three steps which were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. From the results, Fijai's profile was as follows. Firstly, how was Fijai's family background? His parents did not have a job except to help him work as a clown. Fijai got Rp 2,500,000/month from his job as a clown. Secondly, how was his study at program kesetaraan paket A Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar of Bengkulu municipality? He always attended the class once a week. Thirdly, how did he do his job as a clown? He started his job from 10 A.M. until 5 P.M. He moved around while doing his job, sometimes at Suka Merindu traffic light, traffic light near the roundabout, and other traffic lights. Fourthly, how was his parents' response on his education and his job as a clown? His parents agreed with his education at SKB and his job as a clown did not disturb his education. Fively, how was his tutor's response on his education and his job as a clown? According to his tutor he had highly enthusiasm in studying, he always attended the class once a week. Sixly, how was his achievement in package A program? His achievement was increasing per semester. Keywords : The profile of Fijai, student, package A equivalence program

Energy consumption in optical access networks costs carriers substantial operational expense (OPEX) every year and is one of contributing factors for the global warming. To reduce energy consumption in the 10-gigabit Ethernet passive optical network (10G-EPON), a hybrid intracycle and cyclic sleep mechanism is proposed in this paper. Under heavy traffic load, optical network units (ONUs) can utilize short idle slots within each scheduling cycle to enter intracycle sleep without postponing data transmission. In this way, energy conservation is achieved even under heavy traffic load with quality of service (QoS) guarantee. Under light traffic load, ONUs perform long cyclic sleep for several scheduling cycles. The adoption of cyclic sleep instead of intracycle sleep under light traffic load can reduce unnecessary frequent transitions between sleep and full active work caused by using intracycle sleep. Further, the Markov chain of the proposed mechanism is established. The performances of the proposed mechanism and existing approaches are analyzed quantitatively based on the chain. For the proposed mechanism, power saving ability with QoS guarantee even under heavy traffic and better power saving performance than existing approaches are verified by the quantitative analysis. Moreover, simulations validate the above conclusions based on the chain.
