The aim of the paper is to present selected Croatian museum and gallery exhibitions in the light of the phenomenon of museum transformation from the pedagogical into the performative model. Contemporary museums and art galleries initiate new forms of activity. In the old pedagogical model (dominant in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries) art institutions pretended to be neutral and specified education as their main task. This model has been replaced by a performative one which emphasizes cultural relativism, and focuses on the sensory aspect of perception, highlighting the role of the embodied and the sensual. This paper focuses on examples of three Croatian exhibitions: “Socijalizam i modernost. Umjetnost, kultura, politika 1950–1974” (Socialism and modernity. Art, culture, politics 1950–1974) (2011–2012), “Kome treba poduzeće? Slučaj Borovo 1988–1991” (Who needs a company? The case of Borovo 1988–1991) (2016), “Kako živi narod – izvještaj o pasivnosti” (How the people live – a report on passivity) (2016). I intend to show that in spite of widespread opinions to the contrary, museums have not moved away from their original pedagogical task. They still shape reception and they are still deeply interested in power. However, they do this by using modern performative tools – by creating a neural, haptic and multi-sensory relation between the recipient and the object.

Abstract A requirement of the oil spill response industry is its ability to develop highly trained staff international backgrounds who have a holistic understanding of response techniques and who all meet a standard baseline of competency to provide an international response when required. As a solution to this Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) has developed the thirteen-week Advanced Responder training course aims to bring delegates from member companies and new starters from all OSRL's bases and train them to a required standard. OSRL is unique in the people it attracts to undertake the role of a responder as these are sourced from a variety of backgrounds, however these skillsets are unlikely to cover the entirety of the skills required for a competent responder. The course gives the delegates an opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of response techniques and provides an opportunity for new starters to share their previous experience and apply them to the new role. The advanced responder training course has a pinnacle benchmark that is assessed using an Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO) Approved Competence Management System (ACMS) that is used to verify at what point an individual is competent to perform the tasks required of them to an agreed global standard. The purpose of this poster is not to advertise OSRL as a company or the specific course, but provide an oversight of the training and its benefit to the industry

The language is able to provide information about the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the objective world in the conceptual system of a person. Within the framework of the field approach, which is used in the work, the meanings that construct the associative component of the concept are analyzed, since it is iso-morphic to the lexical-semantic field that represents it. The section presents the fea-tures of the inner world of a person through the analysis of the semantics of phraseological units. The relevance of the study is due to the need to study and describe the concept of a person in phraseology from the standpoint of the anthropological paradigm of linguistics. The subject of scientific analysis is the concept of a person, verbalized in the phraseology of the Russian language. The methodological basis of the work is an anthropocentric approach to the study of the content of linguistic phenomena, which necessitates the use of linguistic, cognitive and culturological methods of analyzing linguistic material in the dialectical unity. The authors set a goal - to describe the characterological features of the concept under study, the way of their manifestation as a means of reflecting the image of a person. It is shown that anthropocentrically nominative phraseological units in pragmatic terms act as semiotic regulators, fixing and reflecting in a figurative-symbolic form a model of human behavior, features of his appearance, character traits, traditions and customs of the people, a system of assessments of everything that forms the phraseological space of a person. The process of phraseological nomination of a person is based on phraseological rethinking. One of the most important characteristics of a phraseological unit for designating a person is semantic motivation, since phraseological units are linguistic signs formed as a result of a secondary nomination. As a mental phenomenon, language is assigned the role of one of the methods of coding known forms of cognition: both sensory (perception, sensation, representation) and rational (judgments, concepts, conclusions). It is shown that the mentality of the people is actualized in the most significant linguistic concepts of culture, the main task of which is to reflect national priorities and ideals. The content of the concept of a person includes not only actual perceived semantic components associated with a word (phraseological unit), but also signs that reflect the general information base about a person, his knowledge of an object or phenomenon. It is brought that the phraseological concept is a discrete, semantic volumetric unit of thinking or memory, which reflects the culture of the people, and the meaning is part of the concept; concept refers to cognitive consciousness, and meanings refer to linguistic consciousness.

The author indicates in the article that the conflict over Transnistria was not int the field of German close interests. The main task of the German government was to maintain good relations with Russia and to grant it the role of the main mediator in the dispute between Moldova and rebellious Transnistria. On the other hand, Germany, as an EU member, sought to stabilize the region and to bring about democratic and pro-European changes in Moldova. Berlin supported negotiations between the conflicted parties within the OSCE framework albeit aware that they were a sham and would not contribute to the resolution of the conflict. Both the people of Transnistria and Moldova are committed to maintaining the status quo. The absence of physical violence and minor economic and legal tensions have encouraged Western Europe to remain indifferent to Transnistria’s problems. In the article the author used the following research methods: historical, descriptive, source analysis and decision making method.

The purpose and tasks of the work are to analyze the contemporary Ukrainian mass culture in terms of its value and humanistic components, as well as the importance of cultural studies and Ukrainian studies in educational disciplines for the formation of a holistic worldview of modern youth.Analysis of research and publications. Scientists repeatedly turned to the problems of the role of spirituality in the formation of society and its culture. This problem is highlighted in the publications by O. Losev, V. Lytvyn, D. Likhachev, S. Avierintsev, M. Zakovych, I. Stepanenko and E. Kostyshyn.Experts see the main negative impact of mass culture on the quality approach, which determines mass culture through the market, because mass culture, from our point of view, is everything that is sold and used in mass demand. One of the most interesting studies on this issue was the work by the representatives of Frankfurt School M. Horkheimer and T. Adorno «Dialectics of Enlightenment» (1947), devoted to a detailed analysis of mass culture. Propaganda at all socio-cultural levels in the form is similar in both totalitarian and democratic countries. It is connected, according to the authors, with the direction of European enlightenment. The tendency to unify people is a manifestation of the influence of mass culture, from cinema to pop. Mass culture is a phenomenon whose existence is associated with commerce (accumulation in any form – this is the main feature of education), in general, the fact that it exists in this form is related to the direction of the history of civilization.Modern mass culture, with its externally attractive and easily assimilated ideas and symbols, appealing to the trends of modern fashion, becomes a standard of prestigious consumption, does not require intense reflection, allows you to relax, distract, not teach, but entertains, preaches hedonism as the main spiritual value. And as a consequence, there are socio-cultural risks: an active rejection of other people, which leads to the formation of indifference; cruelty as a character trait; increase of violent and mercenary crime; increase in the number of alcohol and drug addicts; anti-patriotism; indifference to the values of the family and as a result of social orphanhood and prostitution. Conclusions, perspectives of research. Thus, we can conclude that modern Ukrainian education is predominantly formed by the values of mass culture. Namely, according to the «Dialectic» by Horkheimer and Adorno, «semi-enlightenment becomes an objective spirit» of our modern society. It is concluded that only high-quality education can create the opposite of the onset of mass culture and the destruction of spirituality in our society. It is proved that only by realizing the importance of cultivating disciplines in the educational process and the spiritual upbringing of the nation, through educational reforms, humanitarian knowledge will gradually return to student audiences.Formation of youth occurs under the influence of social environment, culture, education and self-education. The optimal combination of these factors determines both the process of socialization itself and how successful it will be. In this context, one can see the leading role of education and upbringing. It turns out that the main task of modern education is to spread its influence on the development of spiritual culture of the individual, which eventually becomes a solid foundation for the formation of the individual. Such a subject requires both philosophical and humanitarian approaches in further integrated interdisciplinary research, since the availability of such research will provide the theoretical foundation for truly modern educational and personal development.

A small but growing area of public administration scholarship appreciates the influence of religious values on various aspects of government. This appreciation parallels a growing interest in comparative public administration and indigenized forms of government which recognizes the role of culture in different approaches to government. This article is at the crossroads of these two trends while also considering a very salient region, the Islamic world. The Islamic world is uniquely religious, which makes this discussion even more relevant, as the nations that represent them strive towards legitimacy and stability. The history and core values of Islam need to be considered as they pertain to systems of government that are widely accepted by the people. In essence, this is being done in many countries across the Islamic world, providing fertile grounds for public administration research from a comparative perspective. This paper explores these possibilities for future research on this topic.
