Introduction: Improving self-management of the patients undergoing hemodialysis is an effective way to reduce complications and to improve the quality of life of them. The current study aims to assess the effects of group discussion on the promotion of self-management behaviors in hemodialysis patients. Methods: In this quasi -experimental clinical trial study (with experimental and control groups) 60 patients were arranged in two experimental and control groups through using convenience sampling with random allocation. Self-management interventions were conducted on the experimental group during 3 to 4 sessions of group discussion. The control group received routine interventions. The data were collected through Li and colleagues' self-management standard questionnaire before and 3 months after the intervention. The data were analyzed via SPSS software version 13 and chi-square, t-test, Mann-Whitney, and Wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed that the mean scores of four dimension of self-management including participation with the medical team, problem solving, self-care and emotional management after the implementation of group were significantly different between the experimental and control groups. Conclusion: Based on the findings, group discussion was an effective educational method to promote self-management of chronic hemodialysis patients. Therefore, holding group discussion to reinforce the self- management behaviors in patients undergoing hemodialysis is recommended.

Background: Educating mothers during their postpartum period could potentially help them to overcome some important phases after giving birth. The process of education is evaluated based on the mothers’ knowledge about their independent self-care. Independency is an activity that is started individually and is done based on self-capability. The independency in the postpartum care is not only important to decrease the mother’s mortality and morbidity rate, but it is also crucial to strengthen and improve the post-partum mother’s healthy behavior during the perineal care. Providing education using Android-based application called BUBI Care could be potential to facilitate a more dynamic transfer of knowledge to the postpartum mothers.Aims: To analyze the knowledge, skills, and independence of primipara postpartum mothers in independent perineal care before and after accessing BUBI Care app. Research Method: employing quasi experimental research with pre-test and post-test design with control group design. The sample for this research were 19 pregnant mothers TM III (pregnancy age of ? 38 weeks) on each group. The treatment group was educated using BUBI Care Android app that was conducted at one of Public Health Center. The control group was educated without BUBI Care that was conducted at a Midwife Practice Clinic. The research was conducted on September to October 2020. Study Result: According to the Wilcoxon test, there was a difference in the pre-test knowledge of the treatment and control groups with the similar median of 53 and p-value of 0.666, the treatment group showed their scores improved to 80 on the post-test while the control group stayed at 53 with the p-value of 0.000. It means that BUBI Care app education influences the post-test. On the other hand, the perineal care skill saw a difference between the intervention and control groups. The intervention group had a mean of 70.05 and 56.68 for the control group with the p-value of 0.002 which means that there was an influence from the BUBI Care app education. Additionally, Mann Whitney test showed that the intervention group had a mean score of 78.95, but the control group only had 49.26, the total difference between the two are 29.69 with the p-value of 0.000. It can be concluded that there is a significance in difference in the independency rate from the provision of BUBI Care Android app education. Conclusion:  there is a significance effect on the intervention group in terms of Android based usage.

Kata kunci : tabletop disaster exercise, triage, alur rujukan  AbstractToday, the nurses' skills when volunteering at disaster management are still low. therefore to improve these skills is by providing disaster education from the beginning to nursing students. One of the learning media that is expected to be able to answer  these problems is the Tabletop Disaster Exercise (TDE). This study aims to determine the effectivity  of Tabletop Disaster Exercise in improving triage and referral flow of disaster victims. The research design used quasy experimental with two groups pre-post test design. 36 subjects in total (2 groups of 18 members) was selected using purpossive sampling. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test and Mann whittney test. The results showed there were differences in triage (ρ = 0,001) and referral flow (ρ = 0,000) while in the results of the control group, there were differences in triage (ρ = 0.001) and referral flow (ρ = 0.001). The result of the Mann Whitney test showed there were differences in respondents’s skill between the treatment group and the control group with a significance value of triage (ρ = 0.013) and referral flow (ρ = 0.004). Thus it can be concluded that both the treatment and control groups can equally improve the triage and referral Flow skills of each respondent, but from the analysis of both methods, significant results are showed by the differences between TDE and conventional methods. Keywords: tabletop disaster exercise, triage, referral flow

In this non-equivalent control group, non-synchronized study, we assessed the effects of an education-counseling program for young prehypertensive adults. We included 40 and 47 prehypertensive individuals in the experimental and control groups, respectively. A structured questionnaire (pretest) was used to assess prehypertension-related knowledge, attitudes, health-promoting behavior, and self-efficacy. The experimental group underwent the 8-week program, while the control group received basic prehypertension and self-management education. Subsequently, blood pressure (BP) was measured, and prehypertension-related knowledge, attitudes, health-promoting behavior, and self-efficacy were evaluated using a questionnaire (posttest). There were significant intergroup differences in knowledge ( t = 3.04, p = .003), attitudes ( t = 6.41, p < .001), behavior ( t = 11.60, p < .001), self-efficacy ( t = 11.76, p < .001), and systolic BP ( t = −5.49, p < .001); however, diastolic BP was not significantly different ( t = −0.73, p = .473). Our findings demonstrated that the program is effective in improving knowledge, attitudes, behavior, self-efficacy, and systolic BP. Therefore, it can be used to prevent progression to hypertension.

BACKGROUND Improving the level of health self-management of tuberculosis (TB) patients is significant for reducing drug resistance, improving the cure rate and controlling the prevalence of TB. And the mHealth intervention based on behavioral science theories may be a promising intervention for this goal. OBJECTIVE The study aims to explore and conduct a mHealth intervention based on the Integrated Theory of Health Behavior Change (ITHBC) in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis to increase their ability of self-care management, enhance cure rates and diminish infection and drug resistance. METHODS A prospective randomized controlled study was conducted in this study. Convenience sampling was performed in Harbin Chest Hospital to recruit 114 participants according to the inclusion criteria from May, 2020 to August, 2020. Participants were randomized to intervention and control groups through coin tossing. The intervention group added mHealth intervention based on ITHBC theory about TB management on the basis of the control group. Self-designed and standard scales were used to assess each outcome measure, evaluating effect of the intervention. Independent sample t-test was used for inter-group comparison, and paired sample t-test was used for intra-group comparison. The demographic informatics characteristics of the two groups were compared by chi-square test. RESULTS A total of 112 patients (59 for intervention and 53 for control) completed the study. After the intervention, a statistically significant increase was noted in scores of each item of self-care management behaviors compared with scores at the baseline(P<.001). The scores of all self-care management behaviors of control group were lower than intervention group (P<.05), except item "cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing" and item " wash hands properly " which had no statistically difference with intervention group . Compared with baseline, TB knowledge awareness, self-efficacy, social support, and degree of satisfaction with health education of the intervention group all increased significantly (P<.001), and it had higher scores than the control group (P<.001). CONCLUSIONS Mobile Health intervention for TB self-management based on ITHBC could deepen understanding of TB patients for their diseases, and improve their objective initiative and self-care management behaviors, which were beneficial to promote compliance behavior and quality of prevention and control for pulmonary tuberculosis.
