Abstract Paper proposes mathematical model of single phase shaded pole motor suitable for analysis of motor dynamic behavior. Derived mathematical model from d–q reference frame theory is applied at motor simulation model. Derived simulation model enables analysis of transient performance characteristics of motor currents, speed and electromagnetic torque under different operating regimes. Obtained results from the simulation are compared with data from analytical calculations based on method of symmetrical components and data from experiment for the purpose of verification of the simulation model. Simulation model is useful for studying the effect of parameters on motor starting and running characteristics at different types of loads.

In this paper, two different types of biowaste composting processes were carried out – composting without and with bioaugmentation. All experiments were performed in an adiabatic reactor for 14 days. Composting enhanced with bioaugmentation was the better choice because the thermophilic phase was achieved earlier, making the composting time shorter. Additionally, a higher conversion of substrate (amount of substrate consumed) was also noticed in the process enhanced by bioaugmentation. A mathematical model was developed and process parameters were estimated in order to optimize the composting process. Based on good agreement between experimental data and the mathematical model simulation results, a three-level-four-factor Box-Behnken experimental design was employed to define the optimal process conditions for further studies. It was found that the air flow rate and the mass fraction of the substrate have the most significant effect on the composting process. An improvement of the composting process was achieved after altering the mentioned variables, resulting in shorter composting time and higher conversion of the substrate.

This paper deals with the computation of the performance characteristics of the single-phase self-excited induction generator by field–circuit method. It presents and compares previously unpublished results—self-excitation and no-load characteristics of the generator for different rotor speeds, and complete load steady-state performance characteristics for various types of the core materials. The discrepancies between the performance characteristics of the generator for the catalog’s magnetization curves of different types of electrical sheets and for an actual magnetic core of the generator for self-excitation transients and load steady-state are presented. The results may be useful for designing new constructions of single-phase self-excited induction generators.

The main objective to study shift buffer impact of shifting process of construction machinery.introduces the working principle of main valve and wet multi-clutch,and developing a mathematical model and AMESim simulation model. analyzes the characteristics of pressure changes during the shift, buffering characteristics and impact on the performance characteristics, and experimental verification. The results showed that: the shift hydraulic system simulation model accurately credible; good performance of the system can effectively reduce shift jerk.

This paper introduces the characteristics of doubly-fed motor. The mathematical model in the two-phase synchronous rotating coordinate system d-q of doubly-fed motor is given, and a simulation model is constructed by Matlab S-function based on the model. Simulation of doubly-fed motor on stator unity power factor vector control is carried out through the model and simulating waveforms are given. The simulation results illustrate that the doubly-fed motor simulation model by S-function has the characteristics of simple, fast and high precision. It provides a convenient pathway for the research of doubly-fed speed regulation system.

In this paper, an improved load sharing control scheme is presented, which is able to improve the transient response and power sharing accuracy of parallel-connected inverters used in microgrid. It also shows how the improved droop method can be easily adapted to account for the operation of parallel-connected inverters, providing good performance under the variation and disturbance of loads, as well as achieving good steady-state objectives and transient performance. Two DSP-based single-phase Microgrid inverters are designed and implemented. Simulation and experimental results are all reported, confirming the validity of the proposed control technique.

In current practice the use of mathematical models is substantially widespread, reason being the recent increase in development of programs for this purpose, with the option of model simulation in a virtual environment, proportional to the evolving computer technology. The article contains a mathematical model created using Matlab program. The simulation results are compared with scientific literature that addresses DC motors and evaluated. For simplicity, a graphical interface was created.

Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) opens up the possibility of agglomerations of different types of devices, Internet and human elements to provide extreme interconnectivity among them towards achieving a completely connected world of things. The mainstream adaptation of IoT technology and its widespread use has also opened up a whole new platform for cyber perpetrators mostly used for distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. In this paper, under the influence of internal and external nodes, a two - fold epidemic model is developed where attack on IoT devices is first achieved and then IoT based distributed attack of malicious objects on targeted resources in a network has been established. This model is mainly based on Mirai botnet made of IoT devices which came into the limelight with three major DDoS attacks in 2016. The model is analyzed at equilibrium points to find the conditions for their local and global stability. Impact of external nodes on the over-all model is critically analyzed. Numerical simulations are performed to validate the vitality of the model developed.
