Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan GI, dan (2) manakah yang lebih efektif antara kedua metode tersebut ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis dan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan GI keduanya efektif. Tidak terdapat perbedaan keefektifan diantara keduanya  ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada pembelajaran himpunan di kelas VII. Kata Kunci: STAD, GI, berpikir kritis, komunikasi matematis.  THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE COOPERATIVE LEARNING STAD AND GI IN TERMS OF CRITICAL THINKING AND MATHEMATICAL COMMUNICATION Abstract This study aims to describe: (1) the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of STAD type and GI, and (2) the more effective model between the two in terms of critical thinking skills and students' mathematical communication. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. The results show that cooperative learning of STAD type and GI approach are effective. There is no difference between them in terms of the effectiveness of critical thinking skills and the students’ mathematical communication skills  in the teaching of the material on sets to class VII. This study aims to determine the effect of the PBL model with argumentation scaffolding on changes in the critical thinking of teacher candidates’ teachers in terms of personality type and gender. This research is quasi-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. 28 prospective teachers who take the algebraic structure course are the samples of this study. Critical thinking skills scores were analysed descriptively and statistically with normality test and paired t-test. The results showed that the application of PBL with argumentation scaffolding was effective in increasing the critical thinking of prospective teachers from the criteria of "less critical" to "critical enough" and the n-gain results were categorized as moderate when viewed from the aspect of personality type. and gender. The existence of differences in critical thinking that is influenced by gender and personality type is a research finding that must be considered to determine the learning model.          Keywords: Problem-based learning, gender, critical thinking, personality type

BACKGROUND፡ Fostering critical thinking (CT) is one of the most important missions in medical education. Concept mapping is a method used to plan and create medical care through a diagrammatic representation of patient problems and medical interventions. Concept mapping as a general method can be used to improve CT skills in medical students. The aim of this study was to explore the effect of concept mapping on CT skills of medical students.METHODS: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 100 second-year medical students which take an anatomy course. Participants were randomly assigned into a control group (lecture-based) and an intervention group (concept mapping). CT levels of medical students were assessed using the California Critical Thinking Skills Test. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-test.RESULTS: Before intervention, CT scores of the intervention and control groups were 6.68 ± 2.55 and 6.64±2.74, respectively, and after intervention, they were 11.64±2.29 and 10.04 ± 3.11, respectively. Comparison of mean score differences for both groups before and after intervention demonstrated that CT scores in the experimental group significantly increased after intervention (P=0.021).CONCLUSIONS: Medical students who were taught through concept mapping showed an increase in CT scores, compared with those in the control group. Medical students require effective CT skills in order to make sound knowledge-based assessment and treatment choices during patient care. Therefore, instructors and planners of medical education are expected to apply this educational strategy for developing CT skills in medical students.

Nowadays the development of thinking skills has become the main focus in educational research. Standard of graduate competency mandate that graduates of schools to universities in Indonesia must have thinking skills.  Related to this, the goal of this quasi-experimental study was to describe the effectivity of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) student worksheets to improve students' critical thinking skills (CTS) in the topic of mixtures separation. This study was carried out in the SMPN 1 Pugung by using the Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design. The effectivity of PjBL student worksheets measured based on the n-gain and the effect size values. Statistically, the n-gain value of the experimental class was higher than the control class. The effect size value was in medium categorized.  These results indicated that the PjBL student worksheets were effective to improve students' CTS in the topic of mixtures separation. Keywords: student worksheets, project-based learning, critical thinking skills, mixtures separation

Conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills are necessary for all students to help them in their learning process. This research aims to determine the effect of Moodle-assisted e-learning on (1) conceptual understanding, (2) critical thinking skills, and (3) conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills combined. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with random cluster sampling was used as the sampling technique. An algebra written test was used to collect research data. Furthermore, the researchers performed the normality test, homogeneity test, and MANOVA analysis to analyze the data. The researchers discovered that Moodle-assisted e-learning influenced students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking skills, and conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills.

Abstract:. The basic criteria of integrated teaching are: teaching includes educational goals in which learners actively participate in the learning process, teaching begins with a theme relevant to the learner's life, learners engage in learning and active thinking processes to practice critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skill is an activity of thinking about an idea or idea related to a given concept or a presented problem. Critical thinking is also understood as the activity of analyzing ideas or ideas in a more specific way, distinguishing them sharply, choosing, identifying, studying, and developing them in a more perfect direction. The purpose of this study was to investigate: the influence of reciprocal teaching strategies on the critical thinking skills of learners. This research is a quasi experimental type research. The population is all students in SD Nanggalo Tarusan Pesisir Selatan and the samples are students of VA and VB class as many as 50 people. This sampling technique is porpusive sampling. Data from the research results obtained from critical thinking skills tests. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of learners who were given a reciprocal teaching strategy were higher than conventional learning. Keyword: Reciprocal teaching, Critical Thinking Skill, Thematic Abstrak: Kriteria mendasar tentang pengajaran terintegrasi antara lain; pengajaran meliputi tujuan pendidikan dalam hal peserta didik secara aktif berpartisipasi dalam proses belajar, pengajaran dimulai dari suatu tema yang relevan dengan kehidupan peserta didik, peserta didik terlibat dalam proses belajar dan berpikir aktif untuk melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis. Keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah suatu kegiatan cara berpikir tentang ide atau gagasan yang berhubungan dengan konsep yang diberikan atau masalah yang dipaparkan. Berpikir kritis juga dipahami sebagai kegiatan menganalisis idea atau gagasan ke arah yang lebih spesifik, membedakannya secara tajam, memilih, mengidentifikasi, mengkaji, dan mengembangkannya ke arah yang lebih sempurna. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki: pengaruh strategi reciprocal teaching terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian jenis quasi eksperimen. Populasinya adalah seluruh peserta didik di SD Nanggalo Tarusan Pesisir Selatan dan sampelnya adalah peserta didik kelas VA dan VB sebanyak 50 orang. Teknik pengeambilan sampel ini porpusive sampling. Data dari hasil penelitian diperoleh dari tes keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunujukan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang diberi strategi reciprocal teaching lebih tinggi dibandingkan pembelajaran konvesional.Kata Kunci: Reciprocal teaching, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Tematik
