The paper reports a rare case of dysplastic multilevel spondylolisthesis of lumbar vertebrae in the girl of 15 years old followed up during 7 years. The deformation pattern and its progression have lead to a necessity of palliative surgical procedure of dorsal spondylodesis with autografts from the wing of iliac crest.

Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) of the talus is an extremely rare lesion. Less than 20 cases have been reported in PubMed till 2012 and none from Nepal. We report a rare case of primary ABC of talus in a 17 year old male that was managed by extended intra-lesional curettage and autologous cancellous iliac crest bone grafting. The patient had excellent functional outcome and there was no recurrence at 1 year of follow-up.

AbstractGossypiboma is a rare condition caused by retention of a foreign body, most commonly surgical sponge following any surgical procedure. The patient may be asymptomatic, can present with vague symptoms, or rarely with acute symptoms depending on the location of the foreign body and the complications associated with it; thus it may be difficult to diagnose this condition. A 30-year-old woman presented to our hospital with complaints of lump and mild pain on both sides of the lower abdomen for 3 months following caesarean section which was performed in a rural hospital. Ultrasound and computed tomography findings along with the classical history helped in arriving at the diagnosis of two gossypibomas in lower abdomen, one in each flank which was further confirmed on laparotomy.

We present an extremely rare case of gastroschisis associated with colonic atresia, anomaly seen in only 1.5-5% of all gastroschisis patients. Surgery for this anomaly can be very difficult due to the concomitant inflammation or other anomalies (mesenterium communae, volvulus, etc). Although prolonged intestinal dismotility is expected in these patients, mechanical obstruction must not be excluded in postoperative course, as it is explained in this case. Our case report demonstrates that primary colonic anastomosis is safe and well tolerated surgical procedure for these patients and that obstructive ileus is possible days after primary surgery and must not be overlooked.

Lipomas of vulva have been reported only rarely. Benign tumors of the vulva are normally classified according to their origin as epithelial cell tumors (e.g., keratinocytic, adnexal and ectopic tumors), or mesenchymal cell tumors (e.g., vascular, fibrous, muscular, neural, adipose and melanocytic tumors). Vulvar lipomas need to be differentiated from liposarcomas, which are rare but are very similar to lipomas clinically. Here we present a rare case of large vulvar lipoma in an adolescent girl.
