Aim. To comply with the requirements of the professional standard, social work experts face the high risks determined by the responsibility for a high quality result under conditions of limited financial resources, as well as emotional and information overload. The article deals with establishing the features of psychological, psychophysiological, and job-related characteristics of social work experts determining the success of their professional activities. The study is based on the theoretical, methodical, and expert analysis of the scientific literature. Materials and methods. The theoretical analysis and synthesis of scientific data were used for the study. Results. The different points of view on the notion of social work were synthesized, and the author’s definition of this notion was formulated. The requirements to the job-related characteristics of social work experts were analyzed, including the specific features of psychological and psychophysiological profiles. The necessity of taking into account personal and functional characteristics of social work experts was justified for the labor organization based on the principles of ergonomics and health preservation. Conclusion. Currently, social work still remains an unstable definition the content of which is constantly transforming and used as a dynamically changing concept. The majority of Russian authors mostly relies on the modification of social work, which is connected with helping people experiencing life difficulties. Such approach does not take into account all directions and risks connected with professional activities and limits the requirements to the labor organization based on the principles of ergonomics and health preservation.

Abstract Field placements provide social work students with opportunities to learn to handle ethical difficulties in a professional manner. In many developed countries, field staff are generally employed to supervise social work students’ field placements. ‘Code of Ethics’ and other ethics documents have also been developed to guide students’ professional activities. However, there is a lack of field staff, ‘Code of Ethics’ and other ethics documents in China, which may lead to ethical difficulties amongst students during their field placements. Based on the interviews of twenty-four social work students who completed field placements in 2016 at a university in China, this research revealed that students encountered many ethical difficulties in field placements. They tried to handle the difficulties in the beginning, but gradually adapted to the difficulties passively due to the lack of support. Most students also reported that they adhered to social work values and ethics in field placements and learned from field placements. The findings suggested that social work profession associations, Departments or Schools of Social Work, social work agencies and social work academia in China need to collaborate to create a more professional and supportive environment for students’ field placements.

To gradually professionalize social work in hospitals, the establishment of social work units in hospitals is necessary in Vietnam's current context. The study's objective was to evaluate the establishment results of social work units among some hospitals in Vietnam for the period 2011-2020. The study was conducted from December 2019 to March 2020, with 503 hospitals, including hospitals at the central, provincial, and district levels nationwide. Our findings showed that the establishment prevalence of social work units among some hospitals was relatively high (exceeding the initial target). Human resources on social work were why some hospitals have not yet established social work units (accounting for the highest prevalence with 65.0%). The study results also showed that the larger the number of planned beds, the higher the establishment prevalence of social work units. There were four parts under social work units, including the patients’ support (59.6%), the communication (44.9%), the mobilization and resources allocation (40.8%), and the customer care (44.1%). The study also gave some suggestions to the Ministry of Health to establish social work units to be more effective in the coming time at some hospitals nationwide.

The study of pedagogical conditions for the formation of the stage image of vocal teachers is a topical issue in the context of improving the quality of professional music education in Ukraine, as well as in the world. The purpose of the article is to study the pedagogical conditions that contribute to the effective formation of the stage image of the future vocal teacher in the process of his professional education. The methodological basis of the study is the theoretical methods of scientific knowledge (analysis and synthesis, classification method, comparative method). Also, in the context of this study, a theoretical analysis of scientific sources was conducted. The article highlights and substantiates the pedagogical conditions for the formation of the stage image of a vocal teacher in the process of professional education: the creation of models of their own future based on the activation of “I-real” and “I-ideal”; providing motivation for performing and creative stage selfrealization of future specialists; application of personality-oriented models and learning technologies aimed at developing the student's individuality and providing conditions for the development of their abilities and creative self-realization in professional activities; diversification of practical forms of organization of the educational process It is emphasized that the basis of the stage image is a combination of personal and professional characteristics and psychological archetypes, which are the basis of image formation, which should correspond to the character of the vocalist the best human qualities and powerful informational-creative potential of the person. It is emphasized that according to the personality-oriented concept of education, priority is given to the development of personality, rather than the learning process, which is an important aspect in the process of forming the stage image of personality. The practical value of the work is that the results of the study can be used to increase the efficiency of the educational process, as well as to improve the professional qualities of vocal teachers

The problem of optimizing the design of vertical column press traverse according to the metal consumption criterion is taken into consideration. As a limitation, the maximum value of equivalent stresses in the volume of the traverse was used. It is shown that the methods of parametric and topological optimization are ineffective for solving the optimization problem. A mathematical model of the stress-strain state of the traverse is proposed, which allows carrying out simulation independently from other elements of the press. The finite element analysis of the existing structure of the traverse revealed the redundancy of the loaded elements amplification, as well as the low manufacturability of the structure. The method of expert analysis was used to find the optimal design. The effect of the thickness of the base of the traverse on the resulting equivalent stresses was studied. A new design of the traverse was proposed on the base of the study results. That design is characterized by low metal capacity and high manufacturability. It is found that the maximum stresses occur in the areas of rapid changes in shape, as well as in the areas of loads.

This article reveals the issues of development and formation of communicative competence among students of an art specialty. The study revealed that an insufficient level of speech culture is typical for students of future artists and teachers. This problem is most acutely expressed by the excessive enthusiasm of students for art and visual activity with insufficient attention to the development of communication skills and a departure from professional self-determination. The purpose of the article is to identify the results of the formation of the subject communicative competence of students of art specialties in the learning process. The following methods were used in the study: theoretical (review, analysis and synthesis of literature); empirical (pedagogical observation, oral and written surveys, tests, pedagogical experiment). The study was conducted at the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports of KazNPU named after Abai among students (17-19) years old. The data indicate that the formation of communicative competence needs pedagogical support in preparing students for professional activities. The problem of low speech culture of students, inability to communicate, express their thoughts, and sometimes vice versa, upholding the position of a human consumer negatively affects the professional development of the future artist and teacher. The analysis shows that against the background of a general drop in the level of literacy and speech culture of young people, the communicative competence of artists is an urgent problem for many specialties, including for students of pedagogical universities.

<p>Data assembly in support of global data products, such as GLODAP, and submission of data to national data centers to support long-term preservation, demands significant effort. This is in addition to the effort required to perform quality control on the data prior to submission. Delays in data assembly can negatively affect the timely production of scientific indicators that are dependent upon these datasets, including products such as GLODAP. What if data submission, metadata assembly and quality control can all be rolled into a single application? To support more streamlined data management processes in the NOAA Ocean Acidification Program (OAP) we are developing such an application. This application has the potential for application towards a broader community.</p><p>This application addresses the need that data contributing to analysis and synthesis products are high quality, well documented, and accessible from the applications scientists prefer to use. The Scientific Data Integration System (SDIS) application developed by the PMEL Science Data Integration Group, allows scientists to submit their data in a number of formats. Submitted data are checked for common errors. Metadata are extracted from the data that can then be complemented with a complete metadata record using the integrated metadata entry tool that collects rich metadata that meets the Carbon science community requirements. Still being developed, quality control for standard biogeochemical parameters will be integrated into the application. The quality control routines will be implemented in close collaboration with colleagues from the Bjerknes Climate Data Centre (BCDC) within the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (BCCR).  This presentation will highlight the capabilities that are now available as well as the implementation of the archive automation workflow, and it’s potential use in support of GLODAP data assembly efforts.</p>

Object Neurosurgical patients often have mildly prolonged prothrombin time (PT) or international normalized ratio (INR). In the absence of liver disease this mild prolongation appears to be due to the use of very sensitive PT reagents. Therefore, the authors performed relevant coagulation factor assays to assess coagulopathy in such patients. They also compared plasma transfusion practices in their hospital before and after the study. Methods The authors tested 30 plasma specimens from 25 patients with an INR of 1.3–1.7 for coagulation factors II, VII, and VIII. They also evaluated plasma orders during the 5-month study period and compared them with similar poststudy periods following changes in plasma transfusion guidelines based on the study results. Results At the time of plasma orders the median INR was 1.35 (range 1.3–1.7, normal reference range 0.9–1.2) with a corresponding median PT of 13.6 seconds (range 12.8–17.6 seconds). All partial thromboplastin times were normal (median 29.0 seconds, range 19.3–33.7 seconds). The median factor VII level was 57% (range 25%–124%), whereas the hemostatic levels recommended for major surgery are 15%–25%. Factors II and VIII levels were also within the hemostatic range (median 72% and 118%, respectively). Based on these scientific data, plasma transfusion guidelines were modified and resulted in a 75%–85% reduction in plasma orders for mildly prolonged INR over the next 2 years. Conclusions Neurosurgical patients with a mild prolongation of INR (up to 1.7) have hemostatically normal levels of important coagulation factors, and the authors recommend that plasma not be transfused to simply correct this abnormal laboratory value.
