In this article, we show the importance of potash fertilizers produced by PJSC Uralkali, Berezniki, Perm Territory for agriculture and the economy in general. А process of potas¬sium ore underground mining is described from breaking up moment till transportation to the surface. An importance of production planning for the mining enterprise functioning is substantiated. Various levels of plan-ning, from a general production plan to a weekly and daily plans are described. The problem of such planning at PJSC Uralkali is in using only integral performance indicators, it leads to significant errors. It is proposed to use simulation modeling as a possible solution to the problem. Purpose of work. The purpose of this work is to develop a simulation model of mining operations, from the process of breaking and transporting ore to a conveyor-transport system, and to test model’s applicability for ore mining planning. Since the existing software has a number of limitations in applies to potash mines, a specialized object-oriented library allows modeling queuing systems, multi-agent and active systems is used as a basis for modeling. The limitations and as-sumptions of the model are described. Materials and methods. The model is igned as a determinis-tic automaton. The end point for ore mining process modeling is the transfer of ore to the unloading point, because further transportation of ore is not a limiting factor for mining. Conclusion. The spe-cial states of all objects of the system including mining combine – self-propelled car – unloading point and all possible transitions between them are described. A data from open sources is taken to check the adequacy of the model. Changes in the simulation results are investigated for various in-put parameters in the developed software. The simulation results are of a pulsating character due to the periodic execution of the harvester drive away. A productivity of the combine decreases with an increase in the distance traveled by a self-propelled car. The possibility of transition to a stochas-tic model is investigated. An expected decrease due to an increase in the downtime of the combine is shown. A conclusion about the applicability of the model to improve the quality of planning for un-derground potassium ore mining is made based on obtained data.

Sustainability of mining companies is of of high concern. The problem is specifically acute at companies that are monotownor monosettlement-forming. Sustainability of a mine depends in many ways on product quality and production resource-intensity. This article discusses formation of mineral quality indexes in terms of an open pit chrysotile mine. The studies took into account specific features of operation procedures implemented by each structural division of the mine. The analysis has found managerial and technological inconsistencies which affect quality and marketable product output, as well as efficiency of the mine in whole. The background for efficiency enhancement at a company is, by the authors’ opinion, consolidation of personnel subject to the single development strategy, namely: improvement of production and control efficiency, as well as use of available reserves and resources by means of better setup for production. The proposed approaches to planning mining operations and forming mineral quality allow higher quality of processing stock. In addition, a new model proposed for interaction between structural divisions of a mining company ensures improvement of general production indexes.

In order to realize dielectric elastomer stack actuators suitable for dynamic applications a new actuator design with rigid, perforated electrodes is developed. The low surface resistance of the metal electrodes predestines this concept for dynamic applications where higher currents are present. Detailed numerical analyses are performed to show the potential of this approach, to study the complex material deformation and to optimize the aperture geometry. A multilayer stack actuator is then manufactured and characterized experimentally under various load conditions to gain suitable parameters for a parametrized model. It is subsequently used to attenuate vibrations of a truss structure. By careful adjusting the parameters it functions both as passive absober and as actuator. A comparison of experimental and simulation results proves the high quality of the simulation model. The work shows the great potential of the new design concept for future applications especially in the field of smart structures.

The importance of production planning for improving the performance indicators of a mining enterprise is indicated. The possibility of simulation modeling using for this aim is shown. It is shown that the created model has a large number of stochastic parameters. It is investigated that there is a problem of research lack about the choice influence of the mining modeling results with different statistical distributions. It is known that with an increase in stochastic deviations from the initial parameters, the productivity of queuing systems decreases. Purpose of work is to study this influence with four statistical distributions of a random quantity (uniform, normal, negative bi-nomial and Poisson distribution) for individual operations and their combinations. In addition, it is necessary to determine how much a change in one particular parameter will affect the overall result of the modeling. Materials and methods. In the previously created simulation model, a stochastic delay is added to the time of individual operations. The addition of such a delay with different sta-tistical distributions and with the same mathematical expectation is investigated. The simulation re-sults are compared with each other, for each individual operation the absolute and relative devia-tion of the results is shown. Further, a similar simulation is performed when all the simultaneously selected parameters changing. Result. It is shown that the magnitude of the deviation significantly differs among all deviations. It is shown that for various single changes in operations, the largest and smal-lest deviations can be given by different statistical distributions. To study the joint change with all parameters, 3 modeling scenarios are implemented: all uniform distributions (this case is used now), the scenario with the smallest deviation and the scenario with the largest deviation. It is shown that switching to another scenario leads to a significant change in the simulation. Conclusion. It is con-cluded that the used significant influence of statistical distributions choice to the accuracy of model-ing the operation of the mining machine is shown, especially when they are taken into account to-gether. The results can be used to clarify the influence of individual factors in the simulation model and improve the planning of potash mining operations, for individual mining machines too.

An important task in the technological process of a mining enterprise is preparatory mine working performance, as effective operation of an entire mining complex depends on rate and quality of drilling. Therefore, the main factor affecting the performance of the process of underground mining is the correspondence of design and operating parameters of the working bodies of tunnelling machines to mining and geological conditions. The underground mining operations showed that rocks with a strength f ≤ 10 and high abrasiveness are to be destroyed with disc tools, providing higher strength, wear-resistant parameter and low dust formation in comparison with cutters. The usage of disk tools on the working bodies of tunnelling machines of selective action is a poorly studied task and requires special research of the questions of destruction, crushing and loading of rocks at reverse working modes. It has been established that researches aimed at design development of an attachment point of a disk tool for arrow-type working bodies of a tunnelling machines is an urgent scientific task. The original technical solutions for the design of the attachment points of disc and cutter tools are proposed to improve the processes of cutting of working bodies in the face massif, dust suppression, sealing and mounting-dismounting operations at the operation of shearers and tunnelling machines.

Paper demonstrates the importance of substantiating the reserves volumes ready for mining in extraction units, in accordance with the mine output capacity, averaging mode and reducing the variation in the mined product quality. Rational methods of planning mining operations based on innovative technological solutions to achieve high-quality ore mass uniformity in terms of mineralogical composition are presented. Optimization of mineral extraction scheduling is possible with a comprehensive analysis of the existing situation and determining a well-founded method for mining operations. Averaging the mined ores content by two components requires a change in their volume planned for separate panels. Based on critical analysis and personal analytical research, a new method has been developed for averaging the mineral raw materials content. The method of ore content bottom-hole averaging in underground mining is substantiated, taking into account the output distribution over extraction units and obtaining a uniform quality of the extracted raw materials. The proposed method of averaging the minerals quality differs from the existing ones by the optimal ore volumes distribution in accordance with their content directly in the mined-out faces of the panels during the period of the field exploitation by underground method.

In underground mining of valuable non-metallic raw materials, non-ferrous and precious metal ores, the problem of overgrinding of raw materials as a result of blasting operations is quite acute. For ores of nonferrous and precious metals, represented by strong rocks, the effect of increased concentration of ore minerals in small classes of ore is characteristic. Due to the process of segregation of the mass in ore drawing, small fractions accumulate in significant quantities on the lying side of the mine goaf and on the roughness of its surface. Such ore is often simply lost. It is rational to create conditions for reducing the yield of small fractions already at the stage of separating the ore from the array. Therefore, the development of technological methods for managing the quality of mining enterprise products and methods for improving the completeness of extracting mineral reserves is an urgent scientific and technical task. To solve this problem, a number of model and full-scale experiments were conducted to identify the dependence of the nature of destruction on the method and parameters of blasting, followed by statistical evaluation of the results. The principles of determining the parameters of the technology for breaking valuable ores that are prone to overgrinding are established.
