The aim of the paper is to develop program complex in software MATLAB with integrated numerical 2D nonlinear FLUX model, which is used for solving optimal inductor design and control problems for heating stage of surface induction hardening. Considered program complex is based on alternance method, that allows to write systems of transcendental equations, closed with respect to all unknown design and control parameters of the process. The suggestion for implementation of obtained optimal control algorithm is presented.

The guidance and control problem of spacecraft approaching an asteroid using constant continuous thrust is studied in this work. The range of interest is from hundreds of kilometers to several kilometers, in which relative measurements of much higher accuracy than based on Earth can be used to facilitate further hovering or landing operations. Time-fixed glideslope guidance algorithm is improved by introducing a substitute of an existing control parameter and combined with elliptical relative orbital dynamics to rendezvous the spacecraft with a prescribed location in the proximity of a given asteroid. A vast range of values for the control parameters are explored and suitable combinations are found. To fully validate the robustness and accuracy of the proposed control algorithm, Monte Carlo simulations are done with the navigational error and implementation error considered.

Inkjet printer motor control consists of moving the printhead in the scan direction and in the process direction. Both movements have different objectives. Scan direction movement needs to have constant velocity and process direction movement needs to have accurate movement. In this paper, we discuss a method for controlling the velocity of the printhead and how to tune the motor control parameters. We also design six test pages for testing accuracy of the printhead movement and cartridge properties. For each test page, we discuss expected prints, common printer control problems that could alter the print quality, and how to identify them.

In this paper, we introduce a novel concept for parametric studies in multibody dynamics. This is based on a technique that makes it possible to perform a natural normalization of the dynamics in terms of inertial parameters. This normalization technique rises out from the underlying physical structure of the system, which is mathematically expressed in the form of eigenvalue problems. It leads to the introduction of the concept of dimensionless inertial parameters. This, in turn, makes the decomposition of the array of parameters possible for studying design and control problems where parameter estimation and sensitivity is of importance.

This article presents an in-situ comparative analysis and power quality tests of a newly developed photovoltaic charging system for e-bikes. The various control methods of the inverter are modeled and a single-phase grid-connected inverter is tested under different conditions. Models are constituted for two current control methods; the proportional resonance and the synchronous rotating frames. In order to determine the influence of the control parameters, the system is analyzed analytically in the time domain as well as in the frequency domain by simulation. The tests indicated the resonance instability of the photovoltaic inverter. The passivity impedance-based stability criterion is applied in order to analyze the phenomenon of resonance instability. In conclusion, the phase-locked loop (PLL) bandwidth and control parameters of the current loop have a major effect on the output admittance of the inverter, which should be adjusted to make the system stable.
