This study examines the shift rambu solo dirapai ceremony in conjunction with the social changes that occurred in the Toraja people. This study covers the forms of commodification is happening in the ceremony, interpendensi and social relations, as well as forms of figuration and habitus as a supporting component of a shift in the ceremony rambu solo dirapai. In this paper illustrates that ritual rambu solo dirapai shifting meanings and social values in society, first carried out in order to customary funeral procession of bodies of the nobility, now used as a means to obtain the existence in society and have also been used as a commodity for the benefit of tourism, so the ceremony rambu solo dirapai who had now become profane sacred nature. At the local elite also changes the structure, which was once the relationship is between traditional leaders and communities are now going a new power relationship that is influenced by the government as the new power relations by making ceremony rambu solo dirapai as tourism attraction in Toraja. In the shift between traditional leaders and the government as the new power relations created a balanced power relationship so there is no contradiction in the ceremony rambu solo dirapai as indigenous and as a tourism commodity. Keywords: Ceremony Rambu Solo Dirapai, Social Transformation, Figuration

Social movement and revolution are tools used to shape social changes. Social movement aims to advance a group’s agenda either by rectifying cultural drifts, social disorganizations and social injustice but revolution aims to unseat the government or to transform the entire political order. Based on archival evidence, this article examines the impact of social movement on the manifestations and modifications of specific socio-cultural policies of democratic governments in Nigeria. Though there are commonalities and differentials between social movements and revolutions, there is a strong linkage between the two concepts. Social movement is largely an event on a micro-level while revolution is on a macro-level. Social movement engages limited violence and often resorts to thoughtful persuasion, but revolution enlists unlimited violence that manifests in gritty coercion. However, recently in Nigeria, a number of online social movements have developed and they strive to give voice to the voiceless in the socio-political structure, as well as gaining recognition online and offline, so as to promote social development within the polity. Karl Marx upholds that conflict is inevitable in the social structure yet it can be concluded that most of the fundamental developments in human history, such as national independence, democracy, social justice, social inclusion and civil/human rights have been won on the platform of social movement. There are hierarchical or stratified social relations in the society which breeds social struggle within the class systems. Unequivocally, social movements are bound to arise wherever social conditions are unfavorable. Key words: socio-cultural, social movement, revolution, development

This article discusses how public education institutions such as boarding schools face the social changes brought about by modernity. The assumption is that as agents of change, of course pesantren must follow what and how modernity itself can only provide answers to society. What is mainly brought about by modernity itself is development. Therefore, social change that must be answered primarily by pesantren is a matter of development. This study found that operationally, the relationship between pesantren and rural community development, which aspires to improve the quality of human resources in the pesantren, has been carried out through the following activities: consolidation and cooperation, business links and education, and insights into the pesantren's struggle, community, and the government.

David lockwood has drawn attention to two related but analytically distinct types of integration in society: social integration, referring to the relationship between groups—more especially classes or strata; and system integration referring to the degree of connectedness between institutional parts of the social order (i). The former type of integration concerns the social relations between actors, so that the problem of order in society is posed in terms of moral or normative categories. The second type of integration directs attention to the somewhat more technical or non-normative aspects of order, concerning as it does the degree of ‘fit’ or compatibility between various functionally connected institutions. Both types of integration are of course central to Marx's theory of social change. For Marx, the antagonisms stemming from weaknesses in social integration (exemplified in the extreme case by class polarization) plus the weaknesses in system integration (the contradiction between the forces of production and the relations of production) are understood to be the twin mechanisms responsible for social transformation. As many critics have pointed out, the exact nature of the link between these two different processes was never clearly specified by Marx. But it does seem apparent that system contradiction is regarded as causally prior to the cleavage, and ultimate conflict, between classes, since it's not until these contradictions in the system become irresolvable that the stage is set for the final showdown between contending classes.

<p>Degradation of peatland ecosystems occurs as a result of excessive exploitation leading to peat drainage and fires. This was influenced by a masculinity perspective in resource tenure and utilization. Ecofeminism presents a different perspective on narratives and inter-relationships of human with nature, including the place of women in them. Injustice that befalls women occur due to unequal power relations in the control and utilization of resources in the peatland ecosystem. This paper discusses the Government of Indonesia’s efforts to reduce gender injustice through Peatland Restoration’s policy. Two policies are discussed here, namely the Social Safety Safeguard and Peat Cares Village Program. It is concluded that women's participation must be able to resolve the imbalance of power relations among women as well as between gender. This requires sufficient time and everlasting education.</p><p> </p>

The social policy of a country is a set of specific activities aimed at regulating the social relations between different in their social status subjects. This approach to clarifying social policy is also called functional and essentially addresses social policy as an activity to regulate the relationship of equality or inequality in society. It provides an opportunity to look for inequalities in the economic positions of individuals in relation to ownership, labor and working conditions, distribution of income and consumption, social security and health, to look for the sources of these inequalities and their social justification or undue application.The modern state takes on social functions that seek to regulate imbalances, to protect weak social positions and prevent the disintegration of the social system. It regulates the processes in society by harmonizing interests and opposing marginalization. Every modern country develops social activities that reflect the specifics of a particular society, correspond to its economic, political and cultural status. They are the result of political decisions aimed at directing and regulating the process of adaptation of the national society to the transformations of the market environment. Social policy is at the heart of the development and governance of each country. Despite the fact that too many factors and problems affect it, it largely determines the physical and mental state of the population as well as the relationships and interrelationships between people. On the other hand, social policy allows for a more global study and solving of vital social problems of civil society. On the basis of the programs and actions of political parties and state bodies, the guidelines for the development of society are outlined. Social policy should be seen as an activity to regulate the relationship of equality or inequality between different individuals and social groups in society. Its importance is determined by the possibility of establishing on the basis of the complex approach: the economic positions of the different social groups and individuals, by determining the differences between them in terms of income, consumption, working conditions, health, etc .; to explain the causes of inequality; to look for concrete and specific measures to overcome the emerging social disparities.

AbstractBased on research data from 2003, 2012, and 2018, the authors examine the extent to which capitalist social relations in Serbia have determined liberal value orientations. The change of the social order in Serbia after 1990 brought about a radical change of the basis upon which values are constituted. To interpret the relationship between structural and value changes, the authors employ the theory of normative-value dissonance. Special attention in the analysis is paid to the interpretation of value changes based on the distinction between intra- and inter-systemic normative-value dissonance. In the first part of their study, the authors examine changes in the acceptance of liberal values over the period of consolidation of capitalism in Serbia, while in the second part they focus on the 2018 data and specific predictors of political and economic liberalism.

Abstract: The implementation of the PTSL Program by the government annually has the objective that all land parcels in Indonesia can be fully registered by 2025. One of the products of the implementation of the PTSL Program is the ownership of a land titling certificate that has social and economic impact on the community. Given the social and economic impacts of land rights certificates, the public's expectation of the PTSL Program will increase. This study aims to analyze the relationship and the influence of social and economic factors felt by the community with expectations on the implementation of PTSL in 2017. The research method used is quantitative by using a measure of Likert scale which is then analyzed based on correlation coefficient and regression so it is known that the relationship and the influence of social and economic factors with expectations of private universities. The result of this research is there is a significant correlation between social factor and economic factor with expectation to PTSL equal to 0,531 so that can be categorized as strong relation with significance value 0,000 <0,05. There is a significant influence between social factors and economic factors with expectations of PTSL of 0.298 with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05.Keywords: complete systematic land registry, public expectations, social and economic factor Intisari: Pelaksanaan Program PTSL oleh pemerintah setiap tahunnya memiliki tujuan agar seluruh bidang tanah di Indonesia dapat terdaftar seluruhnya pada tahun 2025. Salah satu produk dari pelaksanaan Program PTSL adalah kepemilikan sertipikat hak atas tanah yang memiliki dampak sosial dan ekonomi kepada masyarakat. Dengan adanya dampak sosial dan ekonomi dari sertipikat hak atas tanah maka harapan masyarakat terhadap Program PTSL akan semakin meningkat.Penelitian ini bertujuanmenganalisis hubungan dan pengaruh faktor sosial dan ekonomi yang dirasakan oleh masyarakat dengan ekspektasi terhadap pelaksanaan PTSL pada tahun 2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan alat ukur berupa skala likert yang kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan koefisien korelasi dan regresi sehingga diketahui besar hubungan dan pengaruh faktor sosial dan ekonomi dengan ekspektasi terhadap PTSL.Hasil penelitian ini yaitu terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara faktor sosial dan faktor ekonomi dengan ekspektasi terhadap PTSL sebesar 0,531 sehingga dapat dikategorikan sebagai hubungan yang kuat dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara faktor sosial dan faktor ekonomi dengan ekspektasi terhadap PTSL sebesar 0,298 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05.Kata kunci: pendaftaran tanah sistematis lengkap, ekspektasi masyarakat, faktor sosial dan ekonomi

This article explores the importance and impact of a set of actions through which bakers manipulate laws and regulations that seek to organize and regulate how they do business. It builds on eighteen months of fieldwork conducted in Jordan, twelve of which were spent working in three different bakeries in the capital, Amman. Moving away from the idea that public policies are simply imposed, the article looks in detail at the social relations through which they are enacted. By honing in on the bakery, and examining arrangements between bakery owners, workers, consumers and ministerial employees, it illuminates modes of political agency that escape conventional binaries of domination/resistance, state/society and legality/illegality. I argue against seeing these practices as easily categorized forms of resistance or frivolous acts of corruption. Nor are they simply reinforcements of hegemonic control. Instead, ‘tactics’ at the bakery subvert the order of things to serve other ends. Foregrounding them in this analysis seeks not only to challenge views of power relations as strictly binary but to elucidate some of the ways in which citizens inhabit and engage with the neoliberal and authoritarian logics that pervade everyday life in Jordan.
