One of the goals of teaching mathematics in elementary schools is students are able to understand mathematical concepts, explain the interrelationships of the concepts and apply algorithmic concepts in a flexible, accurate, efficient and precisely in solving their daily problems. The elementary schools nowadays show that there are still found many students who have difficulty in solving problems related to the subject matter, especially on arithmetic operations of integers. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Students in first grade are given a worksheet to solve individually by writing out the work steps clearly. Six students were chosen as research subjects to be analyzed. The sixth research subject consists of 2 subjects who have high mathematical abilities, 2 medium, and 2 low mathematical abilities. The difficulty of the subject was observed by examining the worksheet's answer and giving clinical interviews related to the results of his work. Based on the results of data analysis, the difficulty of learning mathematics of elementary school students in integer operations is: 1) students have difficulty understanding the purpose of the question so that it incorrectly translated into mathematical sentences; 2) students have difficulty operating numbers that contain negative signs; 3) 95% of students have difficulty understanding the meaning of equal sign (=); 4) students have difficulty carrying out the division operations.

This study aims to analyze the practices of symbolic violence in the news of murder cases accompanied by mutilation in Blitar District. This interest in discussing the phenomenon of reporting is due to the researchers' concern about the phenomenon of 'taught violence' committed by journalists. The practice of violence that is taught is characterized by the style of disclosure of facts about events in an open and massive manner. The research method used is a qualitative method. The data analysis technique is using Robert Entman's framing analysis model. The subject of this research is online mass media www.tribunnews.com. The reason for choosing this research subject is based on the ranking of the number of visitors or online mass media visitors namely www.alexa.com stating that www.tribunnews.com ranks first most visitors as of April 2019. The results of this study are that www.tribunnews.com has done the practice of symbolic violence. This practice is characterized by the style of the arrangement of words that seem dramatic, systematic, accompanied by pictures of the condition of the victim and the victim's family tend to be terrible and repetitive. In addition, photographs and daily lives of victims during their life were also revealed in detail. The condition of the house and family during grieving is also told dramatically. Regarding the profile of the perpetrators of the killings, they received a dominant portion of the reporting. The style of disclosing the fact of the murder incident relies more on news sources from the police. While the performance of journalists who can be expected such as supporting data on the profile of perpetrators to help disclose cases tends to be avoided. Keywords: Mutilation, Frame Analysis, Symbolic Violence

Mathematical literacy is an individual’s capacity to formulate, employ, and interpret mathematics in a variety of contexts. Mathematical literacy of each students can influenced by one internal factor, namely Kolb’s learning style. Kolb’s learning style consists of accomodating, diverging, assimilating, and converging. The research is a qualitative-descriptive reseacrh that aims to describe mathematical literacy students in PISA questioan solving on the content space and shape based on Kolb’s learning style. This research technique used questionnaire, test, and interview. The research subject were four students, each of had accomodating, diverging, assimilating, and converging learning style. The results of this research shows that (1) Students accmodating through the process of identifying important aspect of promblems, translating promblems into mathematical language, using mathematical cocepts and estimates to find solution, reinterpreting the result of calculations but not re-evaluating the solution. (2) Students diverging through the process of identifying important aspect of the problem, incorrectly translating problems into mathematical language, planning and implementing strategies using direct experiments, reinterpreting the result of calcualtions and not re-evaluating the solution. (3) Students assimilating through the process of identifying aspects of the problems, translating into mathematical language clearly, using mathematical consepts and writing step by step, reinterpreting the result of calculations, and re-evaluating the solution. (4) Student converging through the process of identying important aspect of the problems, not quite right in translating into mathematical language, using mathematical concepts and direct experiments to find solutions, reinterpreting the result and not re-evaluating the solution.
