Active supervision is a practical strategy for increasing student engagement and decreasing student disruptive behavior. In this article, we describe a step-by-step process for using active supervision, with teaching tips to assist with successful implementation. Throughout the article we offer lessons from the field featuring the perspectives of practitioners who have used active supervision in classrooms that include students with challenging behavior.

This study aims to determine the effect of student engagement on student achievement in the Faculty of Communication and Business, Telkom University. The aspects studied were cognitive engagement, emotional engagement and behavioral engagement in terms of student engagement. And the value of GPA for learning achievement. The method in this study uses descriptive analysis techniques with simple linear regression analysis. To collect the sample using incidental sampling technique through a questionnaire. This questionnaire was distributed to 361 students of the Faculty of Communication and Business Telkom University. From the results of tests conducted, it is found that there is a relationship between student engagement on learning achievement. Where this relationship is perfectly positive correlation. And there is no significant effect between student engagement on learning achievement.

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of professional development in co-teaching on teacher self-efficacy among general and special education rural high school teachers. A causal-comparative research design was used to survey 256 rural high school teachers from the South and Midwest regions of the U.S. to measure their self-efficacy in student engagement, instructional practices, and classroom management. One-way analysis and independent samples t-test was used to analyze these data using SPSS statistical software. The results indicated a significant difference between teachers with and without experience in a co-teaching classroom regarding their efficacy in using instructional practices. Furthermore, ANOVA results indicated a significant difference in the number of hours of professional development a teacher received in co-teaching as it relates to their efficacy in student engagement, instructional practices, and classroom management. Further discussion and recommendations are also included.

In unprecedented times like this when societies are experiencing lockdowns, social, and physical distancing, remote online learning becomes the only option for most educational institutions. There is a need for English Language Teaching practitioners to devise strategic means either through technology or without to meaningfully engage the students. This study examines learners’ engagement strategies used during remote online learning at Northern Cyprus. To achieve this, a mixed research design was used to elicit information from 63 ELT teachers who were purposively chosen for this research. A 3-credit English language course was used for the study. The course was taught and teachers deployed the use of engagement tools, skills, and resources during the remote online learning teaching period, which lasted for 8 weeks and 2 days. A structured questionnaire consisting of two sections; A and B were used to elicit information on the resources used for student engagements and its effectiveness as well while a semi-structured interview question was used to interview randomly chosen participants. These instruments were faced, and the construct validated while the questionnaire was piloted, a Cronbach alpha reliability index of 0.77 was obtained. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the questionnaire to determine the mean responses of the participants with regards to resources used for student engagement and their effectiveness. Findings obtained were used to conclusions that online resources like Padlets, Mentimeter, nearpod, Flipgrid, Zoom breakout room are effective and efficient tool for student engagement during remote online learning.
