ABSTRACTThe possibility to access and produce information using mobile devices connected to the Internet and wireless connection is revolutionizing the functioning of various institutions, among them, the school. Nevertheless, the arrival of this technology requires teacher's skills, as it challenges them to rethink their way of teaching for effective learning. This article presents partial results of an exploratory study, based on Bakhtin's theoretical framework, who aimed at analyzing the “pluridirecionadas” languages of interaction between a professor for Chemistry students who are aiming for a teaching career and a research professor of computer science and education, to discuss and reflect on the use of mobile devices in chemical education. These meeting enabled the emergence of new ideas and presents an application (under construction) called “Virtual Chemistry Laboratory” which simulates chemical experiments focusing on precipitation reactions in the study of stoichiometric ratio.RESUMOA possibilidade de acessar e produzir informações utilizando dispositivos móveis com acesso à Internet e conexão sem fio está revolucionando o funcionamento de diversas instituições, entre elas, a escola. Contacto principal: [email protected]

Educational technologies with multimedia content can support effective learning, but these outcomes are moderated by learners’ level of cognitive engagement or self-regulation. As a way to encourage deeper cognitive engagement without redesigning or redeveloping software (e.g., building more prompts, scaffolds, or automated support), this study investigates changing the role of the student user. Specifically, this research considers how instituting a “designer” or “teacher” role may inspire better engagement and learning than the default “learner” role. We present the theoretical background, design, and results of an exploratory study of this hypothesis with college students learning about cohesion in writing.

Kata kunci: penafsiran, LKM, geometri transformasi, discovery learning , kontekstual Abstract Perception constitutes konkrit's ala interpretation and reality of each insider sees something. On this research, observed object is College Student job Sheet (LKM). LKM that intended is LKM Transformasi's Geometry gets basis discovery learning with kontekstual's approaching already been declared for effective, practical, and efficient. P enelitian this constitute descriptive research that its data collecting utilizes questionnaire . Base questionnaire already being taken to 34 Mathematics Education college students in IKIP Budi Utomo Malang, gotten in common college student perception for LKM to get basis discovery learning with kontekstual's approaching very good, pull, and helps college student in Transformasi's Geometry learning. Basically, acquired score bases response questionnaire result college student reach 80% so LKM comprises pretty good categories. Thus bases to usufruct research points out that college student perception to LKM'S present gets basis discovery learning with contextual's approaching on transformasi's geometry material at response excellently to increase effective learning process, practical and efficient. As we live in a world where English is a dominant language and the use of communication technology become part of our daily lives, we encounter many opportunities that deals with it. The studies on integration of translation-based learning activities in English as Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms is growing in recent years. But little known in Indonesia. The aim of this study is to explore the students perception on the current EFL learning in classroom, and their perception on translation as useful tools in language learning. The students perception is collected by online-questionnaire via Google Forms. The questionnaire comprises of ten questions that covers the students experiences in translation, learning methods, translation aid tools, preferred text materials, course length expection and willingness to attend the course. Based on data analysis result, the student perception and willingness to learn translation is determined. Student perception is crucial factor for teacher in helping the student to develop an effective learning and develop translation course design in university setting.

Purpose This exploratory study examined the language skills and the type and frequency of disfluencies in the spoken narrative production of Spanish–English bilingual children who do not stutter. Method A cross-sectional sample of 29 bilingual students (16 boys and 13 girls) enrolled in grades prekindergarten through Grade 4 produced a total of 58 narrative retell language samples in English and Spanish. Key outcome measures in each language included the percentage of normal (%ND) and stuttering-like (%SLD) disfluencies, percentage of words in mazes (%MzWds), number of total words, number of different words, and mean length of utterance in words. Results Cross-linguistic, pairwise comparisons revealed significant differences with medium effect sizes for %ND and %MzWds (both lower for English) as well as for number of different words (lower for Spanish). On average, the total percentage of mazed words was higher than 10% in both languages, a pattern driven primarily by %ND; %SLDs were below 1% in both languages. Multiple linear regression models for %ND and %SLD in each language indicated that %MzWds was the primary predictor across languages beyond other language measures and demographic variables. Conclusions The findings extend the evidence base with regard to the frequency and type of disfluencies that can be expected in bilingual children who do not stutter in grades prekindergarten to Grade 4. The data indicate that %MzWds and %ND can similarly index the normal disfluencies of bilingual children during narrative production. The potential clinical implications of the findings from this study are discussed.
