Suryanamaskar, Yognidra and the chanting of AUM is essential and unavoidable for today’s misguided youth if indeed the country needs a generation filled with the jewel of self confidence and they will have to be kept from coming into the grips of depression , emotional imbalances and most importantly children will have to be motivated by inculcating among them as inclination to follow yogic practices by the parents  and the teachers themselves presenting Yoga driven character before their children. Succinctly put, Yogic practices have the capability of bringing about numerous positive changes in one’s being and more so when it comes to the teenagers as has been proved in the case study delineated above.

Autonomy is essential for teachers’ commitment, satisfaction and retention. However, teacher autonomy is consistently being reduced in the current era of reforms and the sharing of global policies. In this narrative case study, the account of one Canadian teacher (Nora) was examined in relation to how an educational reform influenced her work life in terms of her perceived autonomy and self-confidence. The relation between teacher autonomy and self-confidence was addressed, and the ramifications prompted by the fluctuations in both constructs. The findings suggest that the relationship between Nora’s perceptions of teacher’s professional autonomy and her self-confidence is complex. Nora’s self-confidence was strongly related to her perceived autonomy and the reduction of autonomy triggered significant downward spiralling, leading to isolation. Some discussion on the possible ways to help teachers break this downward spiralling is provided. Finally, this research broadens the collection of stories by teachers on challenges introduced by educational reform and gives voice to teachers suffering in isolation. Key words: educational reform, narrative inquiry, perceived self-confidence, teacher autonomy, teacher isolation.

Second Language Acquisition (SLA) is a complex psychosomatic process. As per educational psychology, its acquisition process depends on some affective determinants related to learners' self-confidence that accelerates learners’ zeal of learning the language. However, studies are rare to empirically explore the factors or the ways that help learners build their self-confidence level. Thus, the prime focus of this study is to find out factors associated with accelerating learners’ self-confidence in SLA through a qualitative case study. Data have been collected through semi-structured interviews carried out over the phone due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 13 respondents (7 boys and 6 girls) have been interviewed who have recently completed their postgraduation. The obtained data have been analyzed with the help of the content analysis technique. The study finds that the self-confidence of a learner gets accelerated by three main factors like motivational factor, social factor, and environmental factor which motivate a learner to learn L2. Based on the findings, some policy recommendations have been suggested to further improve L2 learners’ self-confidence level.

The Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation was established as the first executive body of the country in 1979 with the aim of helping the construction of housing for the deprived. Later, conductive (Hadi) plan preparation, conductive plan execution and the issuance of ownership document were added to the duties of the Foundation. Case studies are needed in order to understand the quality of the topics and the results of preparation and implementation of these plans. Accordingly, in this research, conductive plans, rural housing plans and eligible rural ownership documents in Moghan (Germi) County villages have been addressed. These plans have been implemented in 55 villages of the county. Thus, in the present study, we have investigated the effects of the Housing Foundation activities on economic and environmental development of Germi County villages. Here, a descriptive-analytical method based on documentary studies and field operations (questionnaire, interview, etc.) has been employed. Given the number of villages and the high number of households living in the villages, a sample size of 287 households was determined using Cochran formula and was distributed among the households in each village based on a systematic random sampling method. The research result based on the correlation coefficient test demonstrates that there is no significant relationship between the Housing Foundation activities and economic development of villages (p-value> 0.05). Therefore, the research hypothesis is rejected at a 95% confidence level. Further, the relationship between the Housing Foundation activities and environmental development of villages is not significant (p-value> 0.05). Hence, the hypothesis is rejected at a 95% confidence level.
