Reducing a high-operating temperature of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) to intermediate temperature SOFC (IT-SOFC, 500-750ºC) poses a great challenge in the sense of developing solid electrolyte at intermediate temperature range. In response to this, we report a novel composite La9.33Si6O26 (LSO) - Ce0.85Gd0.15O1.925 (CGO) in this study. The synthesis of LSO-CGO composite was carried out by combining LSO with CGO (9:1, 8:2, and 7:3 in weight ratio) using solid state reaction method. In order to get a dense pellet, all of the products were sintered at 1500°C for 3 h. The X-ray diffraction pattern of sintered pellets show typical patterns for both of LSO and CGO which indicate that the composite was successfully formed. The highest conductivity was detected in 7LSO-3CGO, i.e. 2.10×10-3 S cm-1 at 700 ○C and also has low activation energy (0.60 eV). This result suggests that the LSO-YSZ composites are good oxide ion conductors and may potentially be used as an alternative solid electrolyte in IT-SOFC technology.

La 1-x Mg x OCl 1-x (x = 0.025, 0.05 and 0.1) and La 0.9 Ca 0.1 OCl 0.9 samples were prepared by a solid state reaction method. The best preparation conditions were determined by means of the differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry (DTA&TG). The samples were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. Electrical conductivity of La 0.9 Mg 0.1 OCl 0.1 was measured using electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The prototype chlorine gas sensor was constructed from La 0.9 Mg 0.1 OCl 0.1 solid electrolyte. The source voltage (SV) of the constructed device was measured as a function of temperature (500–800°C), Cl 2 gradient partial pressure and time. Similar measurements of SV was carried out in atmosphere of synthetic air in argon.

Electrochemical properties of Pb1-xLaxZrO3+x/2 with perovskite structure have been studied. The powdery Pb1-xLaxZrO3+x/2 has been prepared by solid-state reaction method. The X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that Pb1-xLaxZrO3+x/2 (x = 0.0-0.05) sintered at 900 ˚C was single phase structure. The electrical conductivity of the material has been investigated. By doping La at the lead site, the electrical conductivity of the Pb1-xLaxZrO3+x/2 system decreased. The undoped compound showed the highest electrical conductivity of ca. 10-3 S/cm. Electromotive Force (EMF) measurements of oxygen concentration cell confirm that the charge carrier of La doped PbZrO3 was the oxide ion.

In this research, influence of adding Li2CO3 (at 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%) on electrical and magnetic properties of [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]Fe2O4 (with 60% Ni and 40% Mg) ferrite has been studied. The samples are prepared by solid state reaction method and sintered at 1300∘C for 6[Formula: see text]h. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns show the samples belong to single-phase cubic structure without any impurity phase. The magnetic properties (saturation magnetization and coercivity) of the samples have been investigated by VSM and found that the higher concentration of Li2CO3 reduces the hysteresis loss. DC resistivity increases with Li2CO3 contents whereas it decreases initially and then becomes constant at lower value with temperature which indicates that the studied samples are semiconductor. The dielectric dispersion occurs at a low-frequency regime and the loss peaks are formed in a higher frequency regime, which are due to the presence of resonance between applied frequency and hopping frequency of charge carriers. Notably, the loss peaks are shifted to the lower frequency with Li2CO3 additions.

AbstractIn this work, aluminate type phosphorescence materials were synthesized via the solid state reaction method and the photoluminescence (PL) properties, including excitation and emission bands, were investigated considering the effect of trace amounts of activator (Eu3+) and co-activator (Dy3+). The estimated thermal behavior of the samples at certain temperatures (> 1000 °C) during heat treatment was characterized by differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermogravimetry (TG). The possible phase formation was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The morphological characterization of the samples was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The PL analysis of three samples showed maximum emission bands at around 610 nm, and additionally near 589 nm, 648 nm and 695 nm. The bands were attributed to typical transitions of the Eu3+ ions.

The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of sintering temperature on the synthesis of SiC produced from rice husk ash (RHA) and 2B graphite pencils. The SiC was synthesized by using solid state reaction method sintered at temperatures of 750°C, 1000°C and 1200°C for 26 hours, 11.5 hours and 11.5 hours, respectively. The quantity and crystallinity level of SiC phase were measured by means of Rigaku MiniFlexII X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The microstructure of SiC was examined by using Tescan Vega3SB Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The XRD results showed that the concentration (wt%) of SiC phase increases with the increasing of sintering temperature. SEM results showed that the crystallinity level of SiC crystal is improving as the sintering temperature increases

SrBi1.8Ce0.2Nb2O9 (SBCN) and SrBi1.8Ce0.2Ta2O9 (SBCT) powders were prepared via solid-state reaction method. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the SBCN and SBCT powders have the single phase orthorhom-bic Aurivillius structure at room temperature. The contribution of Raman scattering and FTIR spectroscopy of these samples were relatively smooth and resemble each other. The calcined powders were uniaxially pressed and sintered at 1250?C for 8 h to obtaine dense ceramics. Dielectric constant, loss tangent and AC conductivity of the sintered Ce-doped SrBi2Nb2O9 and SrBi2Ta2O9 ceramics were measured by LCR meter. The Ce-doped SBN (SBCN) ceramics have a higher Curie temperature (TC) and dielectric constant at TC (380?C and ?? ~3510) compared to the Ce-doped SBT (SBCT) ceramics (330?C and ?? ~115) when measured at 100Hz. However, the Ce-doped SBT (SBCT) ceramics have lower conductivity and dielectric loss.

Suhu paling optimal untuk menghasilkan nikel dengan kemurnian tinggi dalam operasi pelindian atmosferik adalah 90°C dan konsentrasi asam sulfat 5 M.  Kata Kunci: Nikel, pelindian, suhu, konsentrasi   Abstract  Nickel is a metal element whose use is well known in industry, especially in metal and alloy plating. The processing of nickel from laterite nickel ore (Limonite type) uses a hydrometallurgical process of Atmospheric Pressure Acid Leaching (APAL) which is considered more economical because energy consumption and operational costs are quite low. The solvent medium used is a solution of sulfuric acid (H2SO4). Prior to processing, ore characterization was carried out using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Flourscence (XRF), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The research method literature review article. The results of reviews from several journal articles show that the nickel content contained in an ore is around 1.42%, 2.94% and 0.95% and the rest is impurity. The right operating conditions will result in relatively high nickel refining. The operating condition parameters that can affect the nickel separation process include the operating temperature which is indicated by the increasing % nickel extraction along with the increase in temperature. In addition to operating temperature, solvent concentration is also one of the parameters that affects the% extraction because the higher the H+ ion will facilitate the dissolving process so that it will bind to the Nickel Oxide contained in the ore. The optimal temperature to produce high-purity nickel in atmospheric leaching operations is 90°C and a sulfuric acid concentration of 5 M. Keywords: Nickel, leaching, temperature, concentration
