ABSTRACTThis study investigated to determine the effect of problem based on practical to the students’learning outcomes and science process skill on Solubility and Solubility Product Constant materials at grade XI of Science class, MAN 2 FILIAL Pontianak. Using pre experimental and one-group pretest post-test designs, this study employed grade XI students of Science class. The data collection technique used were measurement and observation. While the instruments utilized were pre-test, post-test, and science process skill test. The results of learning outcomes analysis of pretest, post-test, and science process skill test by using Wilcoxon (SPSS 17,0 for windos) and run with an alpha level of .05 (5%) revealed that this test rejected Ho and accepted Ha (P value (0,00) < (0,05). The Effect Size (ES) of learning outcomes was 3,53 and considered high. The Z table contributed significant influence of 49,98%. Furthermore, the Solubility Product Constant indicated 2,90 and considered high, as well. The Z table contributed significant influence of 49,81%. As a result there was correlation of problem based on practical to the students’ learning outcomes and science process skill on Solubility and Solubility Product Constant materials. Keywords: learning outcomes, problem based on practical to the students’ learning outcomes, science process skill

This research aims to know the effect of group investigation learning on student’s science process skill based on their IQ in SMAN 1 Mataram for eleventh grade students. This is a quasi experimental study using pretest postest control group design design. Pretest was taken to get data of student’s IQ. Posttest was also conducted to measure student’s science process skill. Sample was taken using nonprobability sampling from the population of eleventh grade student in SMAN 1 Mataram. The sample was two group of student each from two class, class XI sains 6 and as experimental group and class XI sains 5 as control group. The average os Student’s IQ on experimental group and control group were equal, both at 112. Learning processes were 12 x 45 minutes long in total. The experimental group showed better average score on posttest where they scored 82.40 on average, while control group only scored 74.83 on average. This value is statistically significant, at p = 0.007, less that 0.005. This result shows that implementation of group investigation can increase student’s science process skill. Keywords: Group investigation, science process skill, intelligence Quotient (IQ)ABSTRACT

The objective of this research is to analyze the science process skills (SPS) of the summative test items in physics in Surakarta. This research used a descriptive method with content analysis, namely: summative test items in Academic Year 2015/2016 in Surakarta. Each item was analyzed based on science process skill indicators prepared and elaborated by the researchers. The result and discussion of the research showed that the SPS found in the summative test items in Physics in Surakarta included those of formulating hypotheses (2.88%), designing experiments (2.10%), interpreting data (5.10%), applying concepts (70.20%), communicating (6.64%), and drawing conclusions (13.08%) respectively.

The aim of this research was to determine the analysis of science process skills in textbooks of chemistry grade XI in SMA N 1 Teras, Boyolali. This research used the descriptive method. The instruments were developed based on 10 indicators of science process skills (observing, classifying, finding a conclusion, predicting, raising the question, hypothesizing, planning an experiment, manipulating materials, and equipment, Applying, and communicating). We analyzed 3 different chemistry textbooks that often used by teachers in teaching. The material analyzed in the book was solubility and solubility product concept in terms of concept explanation and student activity. The results of this research showed different science process skill criteria in 3 different chemistry textbooks. Book A appeared 50% of all aspects of science process skills, in Book B appeared 80% of all aspects of science process skills, and in Book C there was 40% of all aspects of the science process skills. The most common indicator in all books was observing (33.3%), followed by prediction (19.05%), classifying (11.90%), Applying (11.90% ), planning experiments (9.52%), manipulating materials and equipment (7.14%), finding conclusion (4.76%), communicating (2.38%). Asking the question and hypothesizing did not appear in textbooks.

Abstract: This article is a result of an R&D (Research & Development) study which used a 4-D model to develope a teaching material in the form of student’s work sheet that based on science process skill. A valid teaching material has been developed in 2015. The framework of the work sheets was composed of identify (core competence, basic competence, topic, objective), inquiry question, analytical question, and conclusive question. The framework could minimalized the guiding expalanation as often found in experiment manual books. The result showed that the students’ performance in practicing the experiment given was in sufficient category, all of the student were responded positively and all of the activities expected in the learning process were impelemented. Key words: work sheet, science process skill.

Written Test-based assessment system can not assess the whole of students activity in the lab. The activity in the form of process skill is not measurable, causing practicum lectures goal to develop these skills have not been achived. This development research, which aim to obtain the development Activity Based Assessment (ABA) set which are valid, reliable, practical and effective in order to measure students' science process skill in basic Physics II. Data processing research to test the validity and practicality done by calculated the average scores, reliability done by Alfa Cronbach reliability coefficient and agreement coefficient, while testing of the effectiveness done by Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) test and the average percentage. The set of ABA is valid by the validator since the average score of SAP validation is 3, 71; guide practicum book is 3,23; content validation of ABA is 3,39; construct validation of ABA is 3,23 from maximum score is 4,0. The result experiment of ABA shows that the empirical validity of pre-lab instrument is 0.74 (valid), the realibility is 0.77 (quite high), the empirical validity oflab activity instrument is 0.97 (valid), the reliability is 0,83 (high), the empirical validity of lab report instrument is 0.92 (valid), the reliability 0.72 (quite high), the emperical validity oflab presentation instrument is 0.98 (valid), reliability is 0, 7 ( quite high). The result of learning set effectivity after experiment are as follow: (I) the assessment carried out by 8 observer to the ABA instrument have Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) value between 0,626 to 0,938 or exceed the consistency standards resulting in a very high consistent category; (2) students' science process skill is increase and place in level III; (3) the score average of student practicum using the ABA is over KKP (i.e. 70). ABA set is stated practical based on the average of positive responses from lecturer and lab assistant that is 97,1% (very good) and student responses is 83% (very good). Based on the result of the analysis and discussion that ABA are valid, reliable, and effective for measuring the student's science process skills. In order to lecturers and lab assistants can use the ABA set as an alternative assessment.
