The fourth industrial revolution determined Education 4.0, which brings out both the clear presence of technology in the educational process and connects electronic devices in the real and virtual world during learning, and during activities of interest, according to personal preferences and experience. However, the requirements and conditions for the use of technologies to increase learning outcomes are much more important. The objective of the study is the construct "technology-based decision making". The research aims to study the influence of the technology-based decisions for the active learning of the students from the higher educational institutions /HEIs/. A scientific study was conducted with 74 students from HEIs. The results show that technology-based decision-making increases learning activity and provides opportunities for learning to be a constructive and active process. Technology-based decisions of university students are defined as a specific motivator for their active learning.

The article presents the results of a study of the possibilities to improve approaches to generating a report on financial results as an information base for making strategic decisions. It critically analyses the significance of the changes in this report, stipulated by the draft federal accounting standard for the non-state sector “Financial statements of the organization” (FAS FS), which should come into force from 2021. The authors identify and systematize the main changes planned by the FAS FS draft in report on financial results formation, including not only adjusting certain articles, but also improving the approaches to the presentation of a number of indicators. The importance of each of these changes, their positive and negative significance for the persons making strategic decisions is determined; the main problematic and debatable issues to improve the formation of the report on financial results from the perspective of users of the reporting are identified. An example of the form of the report on financial results is provided, aimed at presenting the reliable and understandable information necessary for decision-making users. The results of the study can be useful to a wide range of readers interested in the problems of forming a report on financial results, and can also be applied in the practical work of the accounting departments of organizations, in the educational process of higher educational institutions and in the creation and improvement of relevant regulatory documents on accounting.

Previous research has emphasized both the importance of giving and receiving peer feedback for the purpose of active learning, as well as of university students’ engagement in reflection to improve learning outcomes. However, requiring students to explicitly reflect on peer reviewing is an understudied learning activity in higher education that may contribute to the utilization of peer-feedback and promote further learning. In this study, we suggest reflection on peer reviewing as one approach to providing a platform for students to engage in reflective practices and for stimulating active learning in higher education, and to make that learning visible to the educator. We examine 26 undergraduate students’ reflections on peer-review to identify categories of reflection and what students have learnt from the peer reviewing process. Our findings reveal six different categories of reflection suggesting students’ active engagement in learning and pointing to the ways educators can direct and instruct students how to reflect. We discuss how these findings can inform university lecturers in the use of reflection upon peer reviewing as a pedagogical tool in higher education.

Education reform that follows the needs of all students, parents and employees in educational institutions would imply goal-oriented action. The practice that promotes a concept focused on the teaching content and which does not even announce the learning outcomes in the pedagogical records confirms that the student is not a subject of the educational process and that there is a possible gap between theory and practice. However, what if we see this realization as a possibility? If we started the analysis of the quality of practice orientations and “from the end,” we would determine the factual role of all those involved in the educational process without, possibly unnecessary, polar orientations “for and against”. The aim of this paper is to examine the orientation of the curriculum present in the practice of educational institutions in order to conclude about the pedagogical discourse as the basis for change. The paper first operationalizes the concepts with regard to the types of curriculum present in educational practice, and then empirically verifies the testing of the set hypotheses. The obtained research results show that all curriculum orientations are equally represented in educational practice; classroom and subject teachers do not differ in the implementation of the educational process according to the type of curriculum and the orientation to learning outcomes and teaching goals contribute to the explanation of the open and closed curriculum. The last part of the paper explains and critically discusses pedagogical discourse as an agent for changes in the field of educational practice quality based on initial reflections on the current focus on competencies as a pedagogical standard. The contribution to the research was given by 113 educators employed in primary schools by providing answers to the created e-Instrument for the purpose of the research.

The relevance of the topic is due to the widespread use of information technology in higher educational institutions. This trend has conflicting and ambiguous consequences. On the one hand, the use of information technology increases the accessibility of education, makes the educational process flexible, and expands the possibilities of using visual materials. On the other hand, problems arise in the development of teaching methods that are necessary to stimulate the learning activity of students. To study the attitude of teachers and students to the problems of using information technology in higher education, the scientific publications of foreign and Russian scientists were analyzed. The purpose of the research is to study the peculiarities of perceiving the problems of informatization of the educational process by teachers and students of higher educational institutions. The empirical basis of the study was the materials of a sociological survey conducted among students of Togliatti State University in 2014 (N=359) and in 2019 (N=353). Comparative analysis of the results shows that within five years the number of students who are interested in using information resources in the educational process has significantly increased. A similar trend can be traced in the interest in using educational programs and simulators. From 2014 to 2019, the number of students who would like to receive supplementary training in information technology has doubled. The growing interest of students in the use of information technology necessitates the development of modern teaching methods, changes in the forms of interaction between students and teachers in the educational process. The solution to these problems at the present stage is associated with the search for the optimal combination of information and interactive technologies in the educational process.

Training of cadets-air traffic controllers and cadets-pilots is an integral part of the training, which allows you to form the skills of quick and correct decision-making in different types of situations. For the air traffic controller, these are exercises to solve conflict situations with aircraft in the area of their responsibility, solving problems in normal flight conditions, in unfavorable atmospheric conditions and in the non-routine situations in flight. For the pilots, solutions to the problems are reduced to the rapid decisionmaking on aircraft control in normal flight conditions, adverse atmospheric conditions and non-routine situations in flight. As you know, the work of air traffic controllers is associated with the work of pilots, but training in educational institutions takes place separately, resulting in gaps in knowledge of the specifics of the adjacent specialty, and, eventually, leads to errors. Optimization of the educational process is currently an urgent task. The program of joint training can act as an optimization tool. The program enables you to collaboratively practice the skills of fast decision-making, clearly to learn the specifics of the related specialties that will allow you to create a complete picture of the air situation. The program of joint training implies the joint operational logic simulator that combines two simulators. For the air traffic controller, this is a separate airspace area in the form of a sector, for the pilot it is the cockpit. Thus, the solution to the problems occurs sequentially from the air traffic controller to the pilot and vice versa, and the controller has the ability to observe the algorithm of the pilot's actions, and the pilot is able to monitor the algorithm of the controller's actions.
