National brands are well-known and popular brands of manufacturers, such as Coca Cola, McDonald's, Milka, Maggi, Colgate, Toblerone, Evian, Knorr, etc. These brands usually are well accepted and favorites of consumers. They associate with high quality, availability, feelings, experiences, promotions, and events. However, their popularity is increasingly threatened by private brands. Private brands are brands of retailers and distributors, that starting from the 14th century, and especially today, have conquered lots of consumers. Initially, private brands appeared among consumer goods (food products) and were without name, style, design, with relatively low quality and with much lower prices than national brands.Economic crises, low living standard, poverty that existed in several countries in the middle of the XIX-th century caused the consumers to become more sensitive to prices, and they began to show interest in private brands. The greater demand for these products the richer became the retailers. Retailehad a great advantage: they knew the needs and wants of consumers. With time, retailers have invested more in quality, taste, packaging, design, style, and colors of their brands that have attracted more customers. Today, private brands represent a severe competitive threat to national brands. Some recent research shows that private brands are more popular and more required than national brands. This paper aims to reveal the future of national and private brands with the help of empirical research.

This study purpose was to optimize the production technology of encapsulated functional detoxicants based on combined dietary fibers (DF) obtained from beet pulp according to the developed technology. Production technology optimization for functional encapsulated food products was performed using mathematical programming methods based on Statistica v.10 and MathСAD v.15 software environments. An optimal technological production mode for encapsulated food products with high quality indicators, having an increased detoxification ability in relation to heavy metal ions, including combined DF, obtained from beet pulp.

By creating a robust intellectual property structure, a high-quality job future can be secured and sustained. Therefore, promotion to innovation/invention requires adequate protection. The multinational giant Colgate- Palmolive can be seen caught up into legal dispute where accusation is over the company for having purloined an archaic formula to have its roots to ancient times, and also being used by Indians for generations. India foiled an attempt by consumer goods giant Colgate-Palmolive to patent a mouthwash formula containing herb extract by citing ancient texts that show it was traditionally used in ancient medicinal practices. Traditional Knowledge Digital Library of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR-TKDL) had submitted proof in the form of references from ancient books, which said the herb and its extracts in Indian systems of medicine. The proactivness of Indian community to safeguard its traditional knowledge obstructed the profit-making strategy of the company.

The article presents analytical data on the assessment of cargo turnover on the territory of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the study is to analyze the dynamics of changes in the main indicators that characterize the situation in this area: transportation of goods by road, evaluation of elements of the national project "Safe and high-quality roads" and factors that influence the studied indicators. The paper uses empirical research methods: observation, comparison, and modeling. According to the results of the study, the main conditions that affect the volume of cargo turnover in the regions of Russia are highlighted.

The relationship between trust and auditing can be described as a paradox. In the social contract that forms the basis of modern societies, extensive trust issues arise. How can citizens trust that what is promised in the contract will also be provided? Elections should work to put politicians who do not deliver according to the social contract to be voted out of their position. Empirical research shows that this often does not work, hence the need for an auditing body. Empirical results have shown that national auditing institutions work towards reducing corruption and other forms of malfeasance, and are thereby vital to creating a working social contract. A high-quality system for auditing also has a much stronger effect on reducing corruption than is the case for democracy. Auditing turns out to be an undervalued instrument that not only complements but in some ways proves even more effective than representative democracy.

With the improvement of living standard, consumers have higher requirements on functions of cosmetics. Nanocarrier systems can offer remarkable features and have potential in targeted-oriented active molecule delivery. In order to improve the functions of cosmetics, nanocarrier system has been widely used in cosmetics. Nanoemulsions, liposomes and nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) have attracted considerable attention as three main nanocarrier systems for cosmetics and personal care products. They have a lot of advantages such as improving stability, improving tissue macrophages distribution, increasing solubility, bioavailability, protection of actives from toxicity, enhancing pharmacological activity and intracellular uptake, targeted delivery and sustained delivery. In this paper, the definition, classification and micro-structure of these three carriers were reviewed. The applications of nanoemulsions, liposomes and NLCs in cosmetics were discussed. The beneficial aspects of nanoemulsions, liposomes and NLCs in cosmetics are very broad. They have very promising future for the delivery of cosmetic active components/ingredients and for the production of high-quality cosmetics.

The feasibility of obtaining FT-Raman spectra of consumer products inside clear polymeric packaging is described. It is possible to obtain high-quality spectra of the sample without removing it from the package, thus enabling quality-control checks to be performed on a final product. Examples are shown for three pharmaceutical preparations and one food product.

AbstractPeacock ink, known as Murakkabi ṭāvūsī, was created and used by Persian master calligraphers especially from the 14th century onwards. It is a sub-category of Persian ink which contains four main ingredients: lamp black, gum Arabic, green vitriol (ferrous sulphate) and gall nut extract (tannic acid). It is differentiated from other inks in that it contains many additional secondary ingredients which will be covered in this paper. Peacock ink derives its name from the range of different coloured materials added to the ink as well as the blue-green undertone this predominantly black ink is said to have. It is reputed to be a high-quality product, rumoured to stay on paper for centuries and is not affected by water, abrasion or other detrimental factors. It was the aim of this investigation to identify and describe in detail ingredients used to make this ink by finding and translating 17 recipes contained in 11 Persian treatises (15th–16th ce). Of the 31 ingredients found, 16 are plant based, 13 minerals, and 2 animal (protein) based, and in all cases water was used as the vehicle.
