Describing picture strategy is one of the techniques that can be used to improve students' speaking skills. Speaking skill is one of the subjects that difficult to be mastered by young learners. This study was conducted in SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung at first-grade students. With qualitative data, the result showed that describing a picture strategy can improve students' speaking skills. This finding is in line with the previous research finding that describing pictures can help students to improve students’ speaking skills. Nevertheless, there are some problems gained in using describing picture strategy. Many students could not apply grammar correctly when they speak by using the strategy. The students are difficult to understand English when their friends speak English using describing the picture.

The present research aimed to identify the role of using smartphone applications in developing the creative thinking skills among students in the first grade of secondary education in the computer course. The descriptive and analytical approach was adopted, and the research tool was represented in the questionnaire. The research population included all the first-grade students of Abha Department of Education in Asir region, which amounted to (367) students. About (88) students were randomly chosen. The research concluded several conclusions, the most important of which is that there is a role for using smartphone applications in developing the skill of (fluency) among students in the first grade of secondary education in the computer course with relative weight (71.2%), developing the skill of (Flexibility) with relative weight (70.2%), developing the skill of (originality) with relative weight (77.2%), and developing the skill of (brainstorming) with relative weight (73.8%). The researcher recommended the necessity of using smartphone applications because they are one of the most important sources for building, strengthening and developing creative thinking skills in the educational environment in which the education department operates, and increasing interest in these applications by examining the experiences of developed countries and making use of them in the best way possible, and preparing training programs required to increase awareness among students in the first grade of secondary education of the importance of using smartphone applications and their relationship to developing creative thinking skills.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of the use of social networks (Twitter) on the academic achievement level of the first year of secondary students in the course of research and sources of information skills and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepares a study tool which is about achievement test to determine the level of student achievement in cognitive levels lower in classification Bloom (remembering, understanding, application) separately, and also in the overall achievement test and applied study on a random sample of first-grade secondary students Hafr Albatin numbered 50 students have reached the researcher to the following results: -There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) in the average student achievement in the decision of research skills and sources of information between the control group and experimental in the post application when remembering, understanding and application of each separately for the experimental group was taught using Twitter levels. -There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) in the average student achievement in the decision of research skills and sources of information between the control group and the experimental application in the post in the overall achievement test for the experimental group was taught using Twitter. In light of the findings, the researcher developed a number of recommendations represent the most important in the following: activation of teaching using social networks (Twitter) in the decisions of the research skills and sources of information in all classrooms.

This study aimed at identifying the psychological security and its relationship to the educational attainment of a sample of secondary students in Al Baha Region. The researcher used the associational descriptive approach. The study sample consisted of 450 secondary students in Al Baha Region. The researcher used the psychological security measure of Fahd Dulaim and others 1993. The study resulted in several findings, the most important of which is that the secondary students in Al Baha Region have medium level of psychological security, and a statistically significant relationship at the level of (0.01) between the psychological security level and educational attainment of the secondary students in Al Baha Region. The findings also showed statistically significant differences between the average score of a sample of secondary students in Al Baha Region to the total score of the psychological security measure and its dimensions depending on the collection variable (average); the differences were in favor of the students with (High) average versus the students with (Low and Medium) averages. As well as statistically significant differences between the average score of a sample of secondary students in Al Baha Region to the total score of the psychological security measure and its dimensions depending on the grade variable; the differences were in favor of the third grade students versus the first grade at the dimensions: acceptance, tranquility and the psychological security measure total score; and were in favor of the third grade students versus the first and second grade at the affiliation dimension.

The current study aimed at investigating the effect of teaching using the Internet Web on the first grade secondary students’ achievement in Physics and their attitudes towards it. The experimental method was employed by using the two-group pre-post quasi-experimental design to answer the aforementioned questions. The sample consisted of (82) first grade secondary students enrolled in two sections which were randomly selected from all first grade secondary sections at Abhor educational complex in Jeddah province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia using the cluster random sampling technique, where the two sections were randomly assigned into the two groups. The students were distributed evenly by the two groups such as (41) students in each group, where the students in the experimental group were taught using the Internet, while the students in the control group were taught using the traditional method. For the purposes of data collection, two equivalent forms of an achievement test have been developed in order to measure the first three levels (remembering, understanding, and application) of the cognitive domain in the “movement representation” unit within the physics curriculum being taught to the first grade secondary school students in the academic year 2013/2014 H in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Each form consisted of (35) multiple-choice questions with four alternatives. On the other hand, a pre-developed valid and reliable attitude scale towards physics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was used. The results of the study revealed a statistically significant difference (α = 0.05) between the achievement post-test mean scores of the experimental and control groups for the favor of the experimental group who was taught using the educational site, which was designed and set up on the Internet Web. Similarly, the results revealed a statistically significant difference (α = 0.05) between the attitudes towards Physics post-test mean scores of both groups in favor of the experimental group. In light of the findings of the study, the researcher recommends conducting further studies on the benefits of using the Internet Web in the educational process in general and in distance learning in particular.
