The purpose of this study is to explore the role of implementing e-supply chain management (E-SCM) on the competitive position of companies and whether implementing customer relationship management (CRM) can affect the relationship between E-SCM and competitive advantage. To achieve this objective, a quantitative approach was utilized. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed where 243 questionnaires were returned, with 17 incomplete questionnaires being excluded, leaving 226 usable questionnaires. PLS-SEM software was used to analyze the data. The results of this study demonstrate the imperative role of implementing E-SCM and CRM on creating a competitive advantage for firms. It also shows that CRM mediates the relationship between E-SCM and competitive advantage, suggesting that utilizing different technologies can help firms better communicate with their customers and thus better serve them which in turn will enhance customers’ satisfaction and thus boost the competitive position of the firm.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to classify the main barriers related to the implementation of lean supply chain management (LSCM) and prioritize its main practices. A case study approach was conducted to obtain values for the intensity of the relationship between LSCM practices and barriers to mitigate or even anticipate difficulties in its implementation. Design/methodology/approach The case study in a company in southern Brazil that is in lean implementation is used for conducting this research. The methodology was structured in three steps, namely, classification of the main barriers through risk analysis, selection of LSCM practices appropriate to the company context and ranking and prioritization of the main practices of LSCM related to the barriers to lean implementation. Findings As a result, with the combination of two approaches, failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) and analytical hierarchical process (AHP), it was possible to obtain values for the intensity of the relationship between LSCM practices and barriers. From the 12 barriers, 5 reached a high-risk degree that can be mitigated, and among the 18 practices found, 7 have the potential to be implemented. Originality/value This research allows direct efforts to continuously improve the supply chain to mitigate or even anticipate difficulties in its implementation. The proposed methodology, combining FMEA and AHP is easy to apply and understand, allowing managers and professionals to replicate it in the context of their supply chain and verify results similar and comparable to those obtained here.

Title: The Effect of Supply Chain Management on The Business Performance of Vaname Shrimp Farming in The Province of Bali and East JavaVaname is one of Indonesia’s leading export commodities in the international market. The exported vaname are the products from aquaculture business which are spread in various provinces in Indonesia, so an optimal supply chain is needed to support this business. The purpose of this study is to analyze supply chain management affects the competitive advantage of a vaname farming business and the impact on the performance of the business. The research sites are East Java and Bali because of the strong connectivity between each farmer in both locations. The collected data is verified and then analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach. The results of the analysis concluded that the relationship between suppliers and human capital variables had a positive effect on the competitive advantage of farmers and also had a positive effect on the performance of the aquaculture business. While the relationship with customer variables do not affect both competitive advantage and business performance. From this result, the government is expected to be able to intervene in the form of improved management of the vaname supply chain by increasing the competence of each member of the supply chain so that it can be optimally positioned.

Goal: The present study examines the mediating role of innovation and sustainable process management on the relationship between sustainable supply chain management and sustainable competitive advantage. Design / Methodology / Approach: The statistical population consists of 20 companies involved in the production of banking equipment. Since the size of the statistical population is very small, structural equations model and partial least squares approach were used to analyze the research data and to test the hypotheses of the research. Results: The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between sustainable supply chain management and sustainable competitive advantage. Moreover, it was found that innovation and sustainable process management variables play a mediating and moderating role on the relationship between sustainable supply chain and sustainable competitive advantage. Limitations of the investigation: The most important limitation in this study was the long-time collection of research data. Practical implications: According to the results obtained, organizations should focus on applying the principles of sustainable process management to achieve coordination between the departments and resources of the organization. Originality / Value: It is recommended that organizations emphasize innovative and creative activities to achieve sustainable competitive advantage through sustainable supply chain activities.

In recent years, environmental performance has become part of a company’s strategic value. This is partly attributed by the recent regulatory development in this area. For example the WEEE and RoHS directives were enforced by the European Union to require manufacturers to take recycling (and reuse) and selection of material into design consideration. These initiatives exemplify the importance of green supply chain management. Although companies can make use of green supply chain management to create a competitive advantage by generating more business opportunities, improper management of their supply chain activities in this regard may affect the ability to survival. Greening the suppliers is one of the many approaches to “green” a supply chain. In addition, green innovation can help companies pursue green supply chain management and hence improve environmental performance, as product design and process design are important aspects of any supply chains. Nevertheless, a need exists to develop a model to investigate the relationship between these factors (namely, greening of suppliers, green innovation, environmental performance and competitive advantage). The objective of this paper is to develop a research framework for investigating how future research can address these issues. Hypotheses, constructs, and their measures of the model are discussed.
