Thinking creatively, is a necessary condition of the Design process to transform ideas into novel solutions and break barriers to creativity. Although, there are many techniques and ways to stimulate creative thinking for designers, however, this research paper adopts SCAMPER; which is acronym of: Substitute- Combine-Adapt- Modify or Magnify-Put to another use-Eliminate-Reverse or Rearrange- to integrate the sustainability concepts within architectural design process. Many creative artifacts have been designed consciously or unconsciously adopting SCAMPER strategies such as rehabilitation and reuse projects to improve the functional performance or the aesthetic sense of an existing building for the better. SCAMPER is recognized as a divergent thinking tool are used during the initial ideation stage, aims to leave the usual way of thinking to generate a wide range of new ideas that will lead to new insights, original ideas, and creative solutions to problems. The research focuses on applying this method in the architectural design, which is rarely researched, through reviewing seven examples that have been designed consciously or unconsciously adopting SCAMPER mnemonic techniques. The paper aims to establish a starting point for further research to deepen it and study its potentials in solving architectural design problems.

Everyone loves a good story. But does everyone live a good story? It has frequently been asserted by philosophers, psychologists and others interested in understanding the distinctive nature of human existence that our lives do, or should, take a narrative form. Over the last few decades there has been a steady and growing focus on this narrative approach within philosophical discussions of personal identity, resulting in a wide range of narrative identity theories. While the narrative approach has shown great promise as a tool for addressing longstanding and intractable problems of personal identity, it has also given rise to much suspicion. Opponents of this approach charge it with overstating or distorting the structure of actual lives.

Abstract Charles Taylor’s contribution (1964-2007) to the question of human existence expands across a wide range of areas to include ontological hermeneutics, linguistics, philosophy, and ethics. His Christian sensibility colors his philosophy of human existence which proposes that the self finds itself as a moral linguistic being who can exist only against a background of distinctions of moral worth and value and who is embedded in a world of meanings and dialogical relation with other linguistic beings. Marilynne Robinson’s acclaimed novel Lila (2015) is an account of the life of a young woman damaged by poverty, abandonment, and neglect and at the end healed by God’s grace. In fact, Lila is the story of how Lila, the title character, in her attempt to understand the meaning of existence through her being in the world and her linguistic awareness finds the answer to her questions in a higher sense of the good, the mystery of grace. In this study, first the dominant theses of Taylor’s philosophical anthropology will be discussed followed by a discussion of Robinson’s stand ‒ which accords with that of Taylor – against the naturalistic theories of the self. Finally, the way the character’s interpretation of human existence accords with Taylorian framework is explored. Keywords: Charles Taylor, Marilynne Robinson’ Lila, existence, hermeneutics, self-interpretation, dialogical self.

The research is dedicated to the investigation of the national peculiarities of the concepts heart and soul in the English, German and Ukrainian phraseological worldviews. The examined lexicographic and phraseological sources reveal that the frequency of use of phraseological units with the concept heart is approximately the same in Ukrainian, English and German. Moreover, the phraseological units with the concept heart are widely used in all the three languages and can express a wide range of meanings, connected with the emotional and psychological state of a person and the qualitative and evaluative characteristic of a person, both positive and negative. Thus, the research shows that phraseological units that verbalize the concept heart form an extremely used layer in the Ukrainian, German and English phraseology. Investigation of the concept soul in the Ukrainian, English and German worldviews demonstrates that the human body is considered to be the form of human existence, the soul holder. So, in a figurative meaning, the heart can be the symbol of the soul, its center. Therefore, in the phraseological worldviews of the studied languages, human’s soul, as well as heart, can describe a variety of human feelings, emotions and character traits. The research shows that the English language is not as rich in phraseological units that reflect the concept soul as the Ukrainian language. Thus, the greatest number of phraseological units actualizing the concept soul belongs to the Ukrainian phraseological heritage.

Plaosan Tourism Market is the only tourism market at Magetan. This market has a potential to be a tourism destination at Magetan because it is located on the tourist route that head towards the popular attractions in Magetan. However this market is not a real tourism market as it does not meet the requirements for tourist destination which include attractions and facilities. This market does not use the potential of the area provided as attractions, even though Magetan is famous for farming and home industries. The market does not have primary and ancillary facilities to fulfill the tourism aspect. Besides the lack of attractions and facilities, the architecture of the market needs something unique on its design to attract the tourists. The design method used to redesign Plaosan Tourism Market is metaphoric architecture, because it can representate and show unique image, so it can attract tourists. The main problems in planning and designing Plaosan Tourism Market with metaphoric architecture approach ie what kind of attractions are needed in Plaosan Tourism Market, how the concept of facilities that requires tourism aspect, what form it will be used as basis of analogy that represents tourist destinations in Magetan, how to transform the base concept to be a tourism market design with metaphoric architecture. The planning and designing of Plaosan Tourism Market with metaphoric architecture approach use creative thinking method which consists of synthesising, elaborating, and imagining. Based on questionnaries, preferred objects to represent Magetan are Sarangan lake, leather handicrafts, Lawu mountain, and Batik Pringsedaphur, all of which will be to the main idea for the design by turning them into metaphor in designing this tourism market.

In this work, we present a versatile surface engineering strategy by the combination of mussel adhesive peptide mimicking and bioorthogonal click chemistry. The main idea reflected in this work derived from a novel mussel-inspired peptide mimic with a bioclickable azide group (i.e., DOPA4-azide). Similar to the adhesion mechanism of the mussel foot protein (i.e., covalent/noncovalent comediated surface adhesion), the bioinspired and bioclickable peptide mimic DOPA4-azide enables stable binding on a broad range of materials, such as metallic, inorganic, and organic polymer substrates. In addition to the material universality, the azide residues of DOPA4-azide are also capable of a specific conjugation of dibenzylcyclooctyne- (DBCO-) modified bioactive ligands through bioorthogonal click reaction in a second step. To demonstrate the applicability of this strategy for diversified biofunctionalization, we bioorthogonally conjugated several typical bioactive molecules with DBCO functionalization on different substrates to fabricate functional surfaces which fulfil essential requirements of biomedically used implants. For instance, antibiofouling, antibacterial, and antithrombogenic properties could be easily applied to the relevant biomaterial surfaces, by grafting antifouling polymer, antibacterial peptide, and NO-generating catalyst, respectively. Overall, the novel surface bioengineering strategy has shown broad applicability for both the types of substrate materials and the expected biofunctionalities. Conceivably, the “clean” molecular modification of bioorthogonal chemistry and the universality of mussel-inspired surface adhesion may synergically provide a versatile surface bioengineering strategy for a wide range of biomedical materials.

The article presents the features of the organization and conduct of the Olympiad work in mathematics based on the network interaction of various educational organizations. The network interaction of educational organizations in the article is considered as a complex mechanism for centralizing educational resources, contributing to the active involvement of several educational organizations at once in a single educational process, overcoming the considerable territorial remoteness of various educational organizations. There are small educational organizations that have limited material, technical, methodological and human resources for organizing and conducting, on the basis of creating a unified information and educational environment, various events, in particular Olympiads. Each educational organization included in a single network has access to all its aggregate resources and thereby increases its own teaching and educational potential, and students receive a wide range of educational services, due to which each of them can build their own individual educational route. The article also discusses the main directions of organizing and holding the Olympiad in mathematics based on the network interaction of educational organizations of different levels using TRIZ pedagogy (theory of inventive problem solving), LEGO pedagogy (development and formation of the student's personality based on design technology, or modeling). As the main tasks of organizing mathematics olympiads based on the technology of network interaction of educational organizations, the article discusses: increasing students' interest in mathematical disciplines, the formation of creative thinking, the development of the ability to solve non-standard problems, the dissemination of experience in using innovative models of organizing and holding mathematics olympiads. popularization of the Olympiad work among students and teachers of educational organizations of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
