Three individuals of a nudibranch belonging to the genus Dermatobranchus (Arminidae) were found at a depth of 3 meters, in a bottom with sand and gravel, during night SCUBA diving activity in Porto Pirrone, Leporano (Taranto, Apulia, Italy). The external morphology and coloration of these Mediterranean individuals clearly resemble those of D. rubidus (Gould, 1852), a species known only from the central and western Pacific Ocean. This is the first record of the genus Dermatobranchus van Hasselt, 1824 for the Mediterranean Sea.

An individual belonging to the eunicid polychaete species Marphysa disjuncta Hartman, 1961 was collected on muddy substratum at 100 m deep in Fethiye Bay (Levantine Sea, eastern Mediterranean). This species is new to the Mediterranean fauna. It closely resembles to Marphysa bellii, a native species, but it lacks compound falcigers and has unidentate subacicular hooks. This species was only reported from the eastern and western Pacific Ocean and could have been introduced to the Mediterranean Sea via ballast waters of vessels.

The rare ceratioid anglerfish Gigantactis microdontis was formerly known from 12 specimens collected in the Eastern Pacific from 158° W eastward: off Hawaiian Islands, Oregon, California and Peru. Thirteenth specimen reported herein extends the known distribution of this species some 7630 km westward into the western tropical Pacific (off Caroline Islands). The newly reported specimen shows no principal differences in morphology from the previously known individuals.

The Indian sillago, Sillago indica McKay, Dutt & Sujatha, 1985, is redescribed on the basis of three paratypes and two newly collected specimens.  The presence of two posterior extensions of the swimbladder instead of one suggests that it belongs to the subgenus Sillago.  Comments on its subgeneric status and comparisons with members of Sillago (Sillago) are provided.  Two specimens collected from Vietnam represent the first record of the species from the South China Sea, western Pacific Ocean.

A new species of callianassid ghost shrimp,Paraglypturus tonganussp. nov., is described and illustrated on the basis of five specimens that were collected from sediments in a vent field of the Tonga Arc, south-western Pacific Ocean. This new species is morphologically very similar toP. calderusTürkay & Sakai, 1995, the type species of the genusParaglypturusTürkay & Sakai, 1995. It differs fromP. calderusmainly in the absence (vs. presence inP. calderus) of an anterolateral row of setal pores on the carapace; the endopod of the second maxilliped, with a dactylus bearing stiff and thick serrate setae at the apex (vs. without inP. calderus); a yellow circular structure located on the ventral surface on the uropodal endopod (vs. on the dorsal surface on the uropodal exopod inP. calderus); and the articulation structure of the first pleopod in males (uniarticulate inP. tonganusvs. biarticulate inP. calderus). The new species is the first record of a ghost shrimp from a vent field of the Tonga Arc, and also the second reported species of the genusParaglypturus.
